Government offers Senate deputy chairmanship to JUI-F?
The PTI government has offered the post of Senate deputy chairman to Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F).
Defence Minister Pervez Khattak says he offered the position of deputy chairman Senate to JUI-F’s Abdul Ghafoor Haideri. What’s shocking about the development is that Haideri belongs to a party that PM Khan has regularly spoken against, recently calling its chief, Fazal ur Rehman, a ‘do number admi’. Haideri has strongly denied that any such offer was made. Interesting times in the Senate.

Another surprising development was the addition of the newly elected Senator from Balochistan, Abdul Qadir, to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) yesterday. Qadir was elected as an independent candidate with the support of the Balochistan Awami Party.
Initially, PTI had wanted to give business tycoon Qadir a party ticket but withdrew it after strong opposition from the PTI provincial leadership. PM Khan welcomed the new senator with open arms to the PTI as seen in the video.
