and Maryam Nawaz

Yesterday, Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Maryam Nawaz held a media briefing in Lahore following a meeting which was also attended by Hamza Shahbaz Sharif.

While talking to the press, Maryam Nawaz said that the leader of the opposition in the Senate would be from the PML-N. She further added that all member parties of the opposition had agreed that they would vote for PPP’s Yousuf Raza Gilani for the Senate chairman election, JUI-F’s Abdul Ghafoor Haideri for the deputy chairman election, while the opposition leader would be from the PML-N.

PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the Opposition alliance will show up “in hundreds of thousands” for PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz’s NAB hearing on March 26.

Prime Minister Imran Khan and First Lady Bushra Bibi tested positive for Covid-19 on Saturday. They are both self-isolating at home and are feeling “comfortable with mild symptoms” according to government spokespersons.

The news of PM Khan testing positive was announced by Dr Faisal Sultan on Twitter, and people started questioning the efficacy of the coronavirus vaccine, since the premier had just been administered the first dose.

It also led to a lot of conspiracy theories. In a country where many have led a vicious campaign against polio drops, it is extremely crucial that these myths be busted. Therefore, it was good to see the Government of Pakistan’s official social media accounts as well the Ministry of National Health’s social media account give a clarification about the vaccination process.
