    India plans women’s IPL next year

     The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is planning to launch the women’s edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) Twenty20 tournament next year.

    President BCCI Sourav Ganguly told reporters that the women’s IPL has been approved “It has to be approved by the annual general meeting.”

    Earlier, in an interview with an Indian news agency, Ganguly had said that women’s IPL will be launched in 2023.

    IPL chairman Brijesh Patel said the process to launch the women’s version has “started”. According to Patel, there would be five or six teams in the women’s IPL but again that would need the approval of the general body.

    IPL 2022 has started from today (March 26) and a total of 70 league matches and four playoff games will be played over 65 days. The matches will be played by creating a bio-bubble.

    ‘Not invited, not going, haven’t met PM Khan for a year’: Chaudhry Nisar

    Estranged Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) party member and former Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has denied meeting Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan recently.

    In a recent interview with BBC Urdu, Khan explained that since the last three or four days, he has been in his village in Chakri. He said he had not met the PM last week or last month or even last year.

    “I don’t meet anyone secretly. Imran Khan is my friend from Aitchison College but our politics is very different.”

    “I have not received an invitation to attend the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) jalsa on March 27 nor am I attending it,” said Nisar.

    Earlier it was reported that PM Khan said he met Chaudhry Nisar. “I have had an association with him [Chaudhry] for the last 40 years,” he revealed, adding that Nisar will be “taking all political decisions himself”.

    Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan is expected to meet Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) on Saturday in an effort to appease his government ally ahead of the no-confidence motion, according to Geo News‘ sources.

    MQM-P delegation including Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Aamir Khan, Wasim Akhtar and Khawaja Izharul Hasan will leave for the capital today at 4pm.

    As per the news outlet’s sources, the premier had requested a meeting with the MQM-P delegation on Friday but party’s leaders were in Karachi at the time so the meeting was scheduled for today.

    Earlier, it was reported that MQM-P and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) are working on a draft related to Sindh’s issues. PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said that matters have been settled with the key government ally. Similarly, Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that MQM-P would announce that they are with the Opposition in a day or two.

    According to Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed, voting on the no-confidence motion against PM Khan will take place on April 3 or 4.

    TV fans everywhere were shocked Friday when they heard death a vendor who was selling crackers at a wedding hall was brutally tortured to death by the guests in Pattoki city in Pakistan’s Punjab province.

    A papad vendor was allegedly murdered by wedding guests in Pattoki. The guests present at the wedding allegedly tortured the daily wager while mistaking him for a pickpocket. A video circulating on social media shows the dead body of victim Ashraf Sultan lying on the ground in the wedding hall as guests enjoyed their meal.

    Punjab Police have taken action against the incident and have arrested 12 individuals and the manager of the wedding hall.

    In the initial postmortem report, the doctors didn’t affirm torture on the dead body. However, every side of the incident is being investigated, Punjab Police said in a statement.

    At least seven students of a primary school in Okara have accused a teacher of sexually harassing them, reports ARY. The school is located in a suburban village of Punjab’s Okara district.

    The girls complained that their teacher Sabir, who used to give them tuition after school hours, harassed them. The girls aged between 5 to 10 years complained about the teacher to their parents. The parents of the girls told the media that the teacher used to show them obscene videos and perform immoral acts with the girls.

    Initially, two Class III girls, Manahil and Amna, informed their parents about the harassment, after which other girls also came forward.

    Moreover, the parents of the students have requested Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar to take notice and take action against the accused.

    Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed has said that voting on the no-confidence motion against oust Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan will take place on April 3 or 4.

    The federal minister’s comments came during a press conference.

    The interior minister said that everyone is allowed to hold public gatherings in Islamabad; however, according to the directions by the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP), no one will be allowed to enter the Red Zone.

    The minister also announced that Pakistan People’s Party MNA Jam Abdul Karim would be arrested upon arrival in Pakistan as he is nominated in the Nazim Jhokhio murder case. “He is coming to cast his vote from Dubai. I have directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and talked with IG Sindh. We will arrest him and hand him over to the Sindh police,” said Rasheed.

    Rasheed said that the suspect is being brought to Pakistan from Dubai without obtaining bail ahead of voting on the no-trust motion against PM Khan. “This shows that their [Opposition’s] legs are trembling,” he added. 

    Taking a jibe at the Opposition, he said that they are “fools” because they played a major role in the popularity of Imran Khan.

    It is pertinent to mention here that National Assembly (NA) Speaker Asad Qaiser adjourned NA session on the vote of no-confidence motion till Monday (March 28).

    Popular fame Korean pop group, BTS is collaborating with American rapper and songwriter, Snoop Dogg.

    Snoop Dogg himself confirmed the collaboration between himself and BTS is officially happening during the American Song Contest red carpet on Monday.

    While giving an interview with an entertainment news portal, The A.V. Club, Dogg revealed, “The BTS experience you keep talking about. I’m going to let them tell you about it. It’s official like a referee with a whistle. I love that entertainment world. It’s good music. It’s [a] vibe. I make good music. They make good music. And we end up doing this. This is what it’s always about, bringing our worlds together.”

    Snoop Dogg previously worked with 2nd generation Kpop sensation female groups 2NE1 and Girl’s Generation (SNSD). He also worked with another hip-hop k-pop male group Monsta X in 2020. He also appeared as a guest in Music Video, “Hangover” in 2014 by a solo Korean singer PSY.

    He continued, “I’ve been experiencing the K-pop experience for a long time, connected to the music world [and] scene.”

    “I got a record with a group called 2NE1 back in the day. Come on now, it’s what I do,” he added.

    PTI books special trains to accommodate people from Lahore, Karachi to reach Islamabad

    The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is holding a jalsa at the Parade Ground tomorrow (Sunday) in Islamabad. The party leadership is expecting a huge crowd in the power show.

    To accommodate the people travelling from Lahore and Karachi, the ruling party has booked special trains in advance. A train will leave from Karachi today and will reach Lahore tomorrow around 03:30am and after half an hour, the train will leave and will reach Islamabad around 09:30am on Sunday. Another train will leave from Lahore around 04:30am on Sunday. Trains will also take back passengers tomorrow night.

    State-owned news channel, Pakistan Television (PTV) News, shared pictures and videos of people travelling from Gilgit-Baltistan for PTI’s public gathering on Twitter.

    PTV News also shared a special message from Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan regarding the jalsa. In the video message, PM Khan is calling people to join him in Islamabad on March 27.

    PTI has also hired DJ Butt for thejalsa. “DJ Butt will be in action in our historic public gathering on Sunday,” said PTI regional president MNA Ali Nawaz Awan.

    PTI leadership is expecting one million people in Islamabad. Following the Supreme Court’s order prohibiting political parties from entering the Red Zone, PTI relocated its planned March 27 power show in Islamabad from D-Chowk to Parade Ground.

  • Honda Pakistan announces a massive price hike for all cars

    Following the price hike trend by several automakers in Pakistan, Honda Atlas Cars Limited (HACL) has increased the prices of all cars by Rs 250,000 to Rs 400,000. The new prices announced by Honda are effective from today, March 26, 2022.

    Considering the flagship and most popular sedan from Honda, the new Honda Civic 2022 1.5L Turbo M-CVT, Oriel 1.5L Turbo M-CVT, and RS 1.5L Turbo LL-CVT will now cost Rs 5.399 million, Rs 5.649 million, and Rs 6.499 million, after the hike of Rs 300,000, Rs 250,000 and Rs 350,000 respectively.

    Top variants of Honda City, including City 1.5L CVT, 1.5L City Aspire Manual, and 1.5L Aspire CVT now cost Rs 3.446m, Rs 3.579 million, and Rs 3.749 million, after a jump of Rs 295,000 to Rs 300,000.

    The new price of Honda City 1.2L MT and CVT variant is Rs 3.129 million and Rs 3.249 million, which saw a surge of Rs 400,000 and Rs 300,000 respectively. After an increase of Rs 390,000, Honda’s MPV BR-V CVT S is now priced at Rs 4.079 million.

    It is worth noting that the retail price is applicable on orders made till November 2021 as well as full payment received by March 31. The current retail price is also applicable on back order and full payment till March 24 with expected delivery in June.

    Moreover, Honda revealed that 50 per cent of the price increase would be applicable on back order with expected delivery till June and full payment received till April 30.
