  • Bye bye PTI? PPP, MQM-P to work together

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari met the incumbent government’s Sindh ally Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) on Monday.

In the meeting, both parties have agreed to work together in the interest of the country. PPP has also reportedly agreed to all points of MQM-P.

PPP’s senior leader Yousuf Raza Gillani said that Bilawal Bhutto will brief the public on all matters which have been settled in the meeting.

It is pertinent to mention that the meeting is quite important as the no-confidence date is approaching fast.

Last week, Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan himself went to Karachi to meet the MQM- P leadership.

Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar termed the coalition party Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) as a party of a few districts of Punjab and said that Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan was needed in Pakistan.

Speaking at the Pakistan Overseas conference, Asad said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is the party of Pakistanis across the country while PML-Q is the party of some districts of Punjab while Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is the party of GT Road and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is the party of Sindh.

Earlier, Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed, commenting on the politics of Punjab, said, “I am not one of those who blackmail for chief ministership with five seats in hand.”

It is being reported that National Assembly (NA) Speaker Asad Qaiser held a meeting with the legal department to seek an opinion regarding the voting of disgruntled members of the party.

Sources privy to the matter have revealed that the Speaker was informed that none of the members can be stopped from casting their votes, however, the party can take action against those who violate its policy.

They further added that citing Article 63(1)A of the Constitution of Pakistan, the legal department said the law is very clear in this regard.

PTI Senator Faisal Javed Khan said on Monday that the voting on the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran will take place after March 27.

In a tweet, he said the “biggest rally” in Pakistan’s history would be held at Islamabad’s D-Chowk, located in front of Parliament House, on March 27 during which PM Imran would give a “historic speech”.

School restricts female students to wear ponytails because they ‘excite men’ in Japan

As per Motoki Sugiyama, a former middle school teacher in Japan’s school, administrators told him that girls must not wear a ponytail because exposing the nape of their necks could “sexually excite” male students.

While referring to how most schools require girls to wear white undergarments so that they won’t show through their uniforms, Sugiyama said, “They’re worried boys will look at girls, which is similar to the reasoning behind upholding a white-only underwear colour rule.”

“I’ve always criticized these rules, but because there’s such a lack of criticism and it’s become so normalized, students have no choice but to accept them,” he added.

Sugiyama has taught at five different schools in Shizuoka prefecture, some 90 miles southwest of Tokyo, over the course of 11 years, all of which prohibited ponytails.

‘Mother of all jalsas will be held in Islamabad’: Fawad

A meeting of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) core committee was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan in which ruling party members discussed the ongoing political situation in the country. The meeting took place in the wake of the no-confidence motion which is likely to happen next week.

After the meeting, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said PTI rejected the Opposition’s “lotacracy” and their efforts to bribe its party lawmakers. He claimed that PTI MPAs are being offered millions of rupees and all party members have strongly condemned this unethical act.

Fawad said that the “mother of all jalsas” will be held in Islamabad.

Taking a jibe at Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) “Awaami March”, he said that those who are bringing a limited number of supporters should now know that PTI is the only federal party and PM Khan is the only federal leader and this is the reason why their “kaanpein tang rahi hain.”

“All party members, including the lawmakers, believe that only Khan can rule the country during these challenging times,” he said, adding that the recent public gatherings held at various locations in the last few days have once again proved that PTI is a “federal party and not a divisional party”.

Islamic values being violated in political conflict: Mufti Taqi Usmani

“Whether the difference is political or ideological, to make it a matter of taking one’s life and abusing each other is deadly for the society. Criticism is done through arguments and not by vulgar language. Think about where we are going,” he further added.
