The Mere Paas Tum Ho actress earlier announced her tribute for Mahira Khan in the drama and now she has announced her tribute for the legendary late singer, Madam Noor Jahan.

    Ayeza announced the same on her Instagram account. Her character name is Geeti who loves making musical TikTok videos in this Khizer Idrees directorial.

    The drama’s OST was released earlier this week and fans showered it with appreciation.

    Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry during an appearance on Geo News’ morning show ‘Geo Pakistan’ revealed that the prime minister’s absence from the military and intelligence leadership’s briefing on national security, Afghanistan, and Kashmir to parliamentary leaders was to accommodate the Leader of Opposition, Shehbaz Sharif.

    “The prime minister was scheduled to attend the national security huddle, but the Opposition leader [Shehbaz Sharif] had conveyed to the Speaker [National Assembly] that if [PM Imran Khan] came to the briefing, he would not attend,” said Fawad.

    Fawad added that the government hopes and prays that there is a peaceful transfer of power in Afghanistan.

    “We are pushing for negotiations in Afghanistan,” he said.

    “There are three million Afghan nationals in Pakistan. If another three million are pushed in, it will put a lot of pressure on our economy,” he said.

    “It won’t be so easy for the Taliban to take over the government,” Chaudhry said on the prospects for peace in the war-torn neighbour. “We want that the Afghan Taliban and the Ghani government negotiate [a way out].”

    “We are only concerned when India uses Afghan territories against us,” he added. “[Meanwhile], we will continue to try and mediate between the Afghan Taliban and the Ghani government.”

    However, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said that Shehbaz Sharif did not send any message to anyone.

    “Fawad Chaudhry is a propaganda machine, the meeting was called by the Speaker. How could Shehba Sharif stop him [from inviting someone]? Shehbaz Sharif did not send him any message,” tweeted Marriyum Aurangzeb.

    PML-N spokesperson further said that if there is any official correspondence of Shehbaz Sharif or his office regarding this matter, it should be made public.

    Apple Watch saves 78-year-old man’s life

    An Apple Watch saved the life of a 78-year-old man using a fall detection feature after he fell on his driveway. His watch sent an alert to the emergency services after he did not move for 45 seconds.

    Mike Yager, from Summerfield in North Carolina, United States fell  unconscious on his driveway. His watch detected the fall and automatically called 911.

    “The first thing I asked [the officer] was, ‘How did you guys know to get here?’ and he said, ‘Your watch sent us a message,’ and I said ‘What?’” Mike Yager told Fox8.

    “The Summerfield Fire Department showed me his log thing and it said, if I remember correctly, male, possibly unconscious. Then it gave the location and then it said reported by Apple Watch. Whenever he showed that to me, I was speechless. I didn’t know what to say,” Mike’s wife Lori said.

    The feature in the Apple Watch detects a hard fall, it taps you on the wrist, sounds an alarm and displays an alert. The watch allows you to contact emergency services. If the watch detects movement, it waits for you to respond. However, if you don’t move for a minute, it alerts the emergency services.

    PM Khan announces Pakistan’s biggest cricket stadium in Islamabad

    Prime Minister Imran Khan directed Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani to lead the plan to build the country’s biggest cricket stadium in Islamabad.

    As per reports, Mani met Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Amir Ali Ahmed in this regard on Thursday to discuss the roadmap for building the biggest stadium in Pakistan.

    The stadium will have state-of-the-art High-Performance Centre.

    CDA’s land, planning, and development department have completed the survey for the stadium. A complete report will be presented to PM Khan by next month. After PM’s approval, the stadium will be built in partnership with the public and private sectors.

    According to PCB’s director of High-Performance, Nadeem Khan, this stadium will be the biggest stadium in Asia with high-class facilities.

    “This is a great initiative by PM and we are looking forward to contributing our role in it. PCB is in touch with CDA for planning the establishment of Islamabad International Cricket Stadium,” he said.

    Nadeem also shared that there is a plan to increase sitting capacity inside the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in the near future.

    PM Khan visited the Korang Cricket Ground and reviewed the pace of work there as he promised other stadiums for young blood.

    Guard sentenced to death for killing bank manager on blasphemy allegations

    An anti-terrorism court in Sargodha has sentenced a security guard involved in the murder of bank manager Imran Hanif to death on blasphemy allegations.

    The court also sentenced the convict to 12 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs1.15 million.

    Last year in November, security guards killed a bank manager on charges of alleged blasphemy.

    A seven-member ulema committee was formed in connection with the incident in Quaidabad area of Khushab district of Punjab. They declared that the bank manager had not committed blasphemy and this was a false accusation against him. The ulema committee declared the dead bank manager innocent.

    TikTok has reacted to its suspension by the Sindh High Court with an official statement. The statement read, “We continue to work with regulators, and look forward to serving the millions of TikTok users and creators in Pakistan who have found a home for creativity, fun and vital economic opportunities for many years to come”, as reported by Express Tribune.

    The statement also mentioned that, “The creativity and passion of our community has brought joy to households across Pakistan and provided a platform for incredibly talented creators”.

    TikTok Pakistan’s latest transparency report revealed that it removed a whopping 6,495,992 videos making it the second most country to get the maximum videos removed after the USA, where 8,540,088 videos were removed.

    On Monday, SHC banned TikTok across the country till July 8 for spreading immorality and obscenity in the country. TikTok ban has been imposed for the third time in Pakistan.

    Last year, Pakistan blocked the app on October 9, 2020 however the ban was lifted after the TikTok management assured the Pakistani authorities that it will block all accounts repeatedly involved in spreading obscenity and immorality.
