When Aisha Khan accused Feroze Khan of seeking publicity

Aisha Khan appeared on the chat show Tonite with HSY in 2017 with Azfar Rehman. On being asked by the host about her controversial picture with Feroze and the backlash that it received, the Man Mayal actress answered, “Giving explanations mean that you are guilty, I’m not, I really do not care what people think except for the people who are close to me.”

HSY continued discussing the matter by saying that, isn’t it true that good publicity or bad publicity, its all publicity at the end of the day. Aisha responded saying that after spending 16 years in the industry she does not seek publicity and said that maybe the other person involved in the scandal needed the publicity.

On the topic of hiring PR managers in the industry to stay in news, Aisha said that she doesn’t have one to which HSY answered that despite her not having a PR manager her picture with Feroze made headlines. The actress answered saying that it happened because someone else hired a PR manager.

Pakistan should not issue rhetorical statements against FATF: European diplomat

Daniel Ferrie, a spokesperson for the European Commission, says financing terrorism and preventing money laundering are European Union’s (EU) top priorities, reports Geo News.

The EU spokesperson was asked why Pakistan has been placed on the Finance Action Task Force (FATF) grey list despite implementing 26 out of 27 points.

“You may have noticed that many of the steps we have taken in recent years are important not only for the European Union but also for the world,” he said.

A diplomat based in Europe told Geo News that such a statement is not serving Pakistan and was rather received negatively by European capitals.

Pakistan recently raised a question about whether FATF is a technical or political body.

He said such statements are “not only counterproductive but also harmful to Pakistan’s interest”.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi recently said it needed to be looked into whether FATF was “being used for political purposes”, adding that “some powers desire to keep the sword of FATF hanging over Pakistan”.

Good Morning! *|MERGE1|*.  It’s June 29.  Pakistan mein TikTok ban hogaya hai again for the third time. Sindh High Court has ordered PTA to suspend the app over “immorality and obscenity” spread by the content shared on TikTok. I don’t get how can an app be banned on the basis of immoral content? Who will decide what is immoral and what is not? Does the state hold the right to draw a line between what is acceptable and what is not?  What do you think about the ban?

ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 to be held in UAE, Oman

ICC has officially announced that Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 is to be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman.

The cricket governing body announced the news on their social media accounts.

Earlier, it was reported that the T20 WC 2021 is set to begin from October 17 in the UAE, with the final for the 16-team tournament scheduled for November 14. The tournament will start days after the Indian Premier League (IPL) final, which is likely to be held on October 15.

As per details, the venue for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 has been shifted to the UAE and Oman, with the tournament set to run from October 17 to November 14.

The tournament was originally set to be staged in India, but had to be shifted given the deadly second wave of Covid-19 there.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will remain the hosts of the event, which will now be held across four venues – Dubai International Stadium, the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, the Sharjah Stadium, and the Oman Cricket Academy Ground.

The first round of the tournament, comprising eight qualifying teams, will now be split between Oman and the UAE. Four of these teams will then progress to the Super 12s round where they will join the eight automatic qualifiers.

“The BCCI is looking forward to hosting the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 tournament in UAE and Oman,” said Saurav Ganguli in the official statement.

The upcoming edition will be the first Men’s T20 World Cup played since 2016, when the West Indies beat England in the final in India.

The eight teams competing in the preliminary stage are Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Ireland, Netherlands, Scotland, Namibia, Oman and Papua New Guinea, before the play-off stage and the Final on November 14.

  • Not concerned by the contacts between India and Afghan Taliban, says Moeed Yusuf

Not concerned by the contacts between India and Afghan Taliban, says Moeed Yusuf

National Security Adviser Dr Moeed Yusuf while speaking on Dawn News programme ‘Live with Adil Shahzeb’ said that India should be ashamed of meeting the Afghan Taliban  after having supported operations against the insurgent group for a long time.

Yusuf was responding to the Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar’s recent stopovers in Doha to meet with the Taliban leadership twice in the last three weeks.

“I want to ask this: with what [moral] standing did this Indian high-level official meet [the Taliban] there? Did they not feel ashamed?” Yusuf said when asked how Pakistan viewed the India-Taliban meetings.

“[The Indians] kept having the Taliban killed daily and kept giving funds for operations against them and today they have reached there to have talks,” he added.

Yusuf said the meetings were “a matter of shame” and not a strategic move.

He emphasised that the Taliban, whom the Indians had met, were also “not stupid”, saying he was not concerned by the contacts between India and the insurgent group amid the United States withdrawal from Afghanistan.

“You should also ask what response the [Indians] got from the [Taliban],” he added.

Speaking about Pakistan-India relations, the NSA said there were no backdoor talks or dialogue between the two countries for now.

‘’India contacted us [and said] that they wanted to fix [relations] and we told them we desired the restoration of pre-August 2019 status of Indian-occupied Kashmir; besides, our policy is based on the ease of life for Kashmiris,’’ he stated.
