    Madadgar 15 cop turns out to be street criminal

    Police arrested a Madadgar 15 cop who was involved in street crimes in Karachi.  

    As per reports, the Shah Faisal police arrested Madadgar 15 cop, Aqeel and his two partners after an inquiry was done against the suspect.

    The police took an action against the cop after numerous complaints were reported by several citizens.

    The police also recovered one pistol, three mobile phones and a wallet from their possession. Police also filed a FIR against the gang.

    There has been a sharp increase in robbery incidents in Karachi. Earlier, a gang posing as officials of the police’s special branch robbed the house of the mother of ex-Karachi commissioner.

    The muggers posing as the police officials managed to enter the house of the mother of former Karachi commissioner, Sohail Rajput and looted cash and other valuables.

  • Punjab considers blocking SIM cards of unvaccinated citizens

    In a meeting chaired by Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid regarding the Covid-19 situation in the province, several recommendations were given by officials to speed up the vaccination process, SAMAA has reported.

    During the meeting, the option to block the SIM cards of citizens who refuse to get themselves vaccinated against the coronavirus was also considered. Health officials also recommended in the meeting to ban the entry of unvaccinated citizens to shopping malls and restaurants.

    “It is difficult to get rid of the coronavirus pandemic without vaccination,” said Dr Yamin Rashid during the meeting.

    Meanwhile, National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) chief Asad Umar on Wednesday announced that 10 million doses of coronavirus vaccines have been administered in Pakistan so far.

    Harshvardhan Kapoor has confirmed the rumours about Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal’s relationship.

    In a conversation with Renil Abraham on Zoom’s By Invite Only Season 2, Harshvardhan said, “Vicky Kaushal and Katrina are together, that’s true.” A few moments later, he asked the host, “Am I going to get in trouble for saying this? I don’t know.”

    Both the actors have maintained their silence about their equation and have not yet announced their relationship publicly despite media speculation since 2019.

    In a 2020 interview with Bollywood Hungama, Vicky was asked if he is dating Katrina, to which he said, “I hope you respect this… I really want to guard my personal life to some extent because if you open up, it leads to discussions and interpretations and misinterpretations. That is something I am not inviting.”

    The alleged lovebirds got infected with Covid’19 earlier this year.

    Man kills co-worker with slap in face

    A man in Bahrain allegedly killed his bully collegue with a slap in his face.

    As per reports, in a case hearing at Bahrain’s High Criminal Court, a man from an Asian country was accused of slapping and killing a colleague after causing him permanent disability.

    A medical report was submitted in court from the hospital where the victim went. The report stated that  the victim died after being slapped hard in the face.

    The suspect who is an employee in an industrial company told the court that while he was on duty, collecting weeds and dirt accumulated in the workplace, an annoying co-worker along with a few others bullied him.

    “The annoying co-worker asked me to work hard and began to give orders to me. His behaviour was irritating. I did not like it because he was just bullying me as he was not in charge and I was doing hard physical effort,” the accused told the court.

    The defendant was charged with assaulting and inflicting injuries on the victim and causing him a permanent disability estimated at 100 per cent, without intending to do so, as indicated in the papers.

    The trial will continue on June 16 after a lawyer is assigned to defend the accused.

    A neurologist told Gulf News, “The face has a huge array of nerve endings, contains around 40 muscles and 14 bones and has sensitive skin, the cartilage of the nose, joint of the jaw and eyes. A hard slap cannot only damage any of these parts but also affect the blood flow from the heart to the brain.”

    A video of Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan slapping Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MNA Qadir Khan Mandokhel has gone viral. The incident took place off-air after the two were seen brawling with each other on Express News‘ talk show, ‘Kal Tak with Javed Chaudhry’.

    In a verbal fight during the show, Mandokhel accused Awan of being corrupt, which led to a heated scuffle between the two. Firdous slapped Mandokhel after the argument.

    Awan claimed in a tweet that Mandokhel had used foul language which angered her, and that only a one-sided story was being shared in the viral video.

    She said that after consultation, legal action will be taken against Mandokhel.

    No statement has been issues by Mandokhel so far.

    Iman in her recent interview with Vasay Chaudhary opened up about the insecurities she has about her physical appearance.

    “A lot of people tell me I’m beautiful, but when I look at myself in the mirror, I think all these people are lying,” said Iman.

    “When people tell me you like your face and you just lie in front of us, it’s not so,” she added.

    She continued “I don’t even take pictures because of my face because I don’t like any picture and that’s why I post very few pictures of myself on social media.”

    The actress referred herself as a transgender, which lead Rabia to criticize Iman for using the term of transgender with a derogatory connotation.

  • PIA to offer discounted fare to vaccinated citizens

    The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA)  has announced to give up to 10 percent discount on airfare to passengers who have vaccination certificate and are aged 50 years and above, ARY News has reported. The new fares will come into effect from today (10 June).

    Senior citizens who are 50-years-old or above can avail the discount on domestic flights by showing their Covid-19 vaccination certificate issued by NADRA. However, the discount can only be availed on domestic flights.

    According to CEO PIA Arshad Malik, “PIA actively seeks to boost the government’s vaccination campaign.”

    Yesterday, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) decided to introduce certain incentives for various sectors to encourage vaccinations.

    The NCOC also announced walk-in vaccination for citizens above 18 years of age from June 11.

    Railway Minister Azam Khan Swati on Wednesday said he needed Rs 620 billion for the total up-gradation of the Pakistan Railways, a few days after the fatal Ghotki train accident that claimed over 60 lives and injured over 100 passengers. 

    “I was at the site till the entire track was not restored,” said the minister, stating with regret that 63 people had died in the accident and 23 were being treated in hospitals for injuries. 

    Sharing details from the initial report, the minister said the black boxes from the trains had been retrieved. He added that work had not yet started on them for the probe, but reassured that a thorough investigation will be conducted. “It will take us at least three to four weeks,” he said, as reported in Dawn.

    “The accident occurred due to the 12 bogies being derailed,” he said, explaining that bogies of the Millat Express train had shifted to the other track.

    “I saw the signs of brakes on the tracks myself,” Swati said, adding that there was a need to do a lot more.

    Swati said relatives of the deceased will be given Rs 1.5 million by the government as compensation, adding that every injured person will be provided Rs300,000 by the authorities. Swati said that no value could be placed on the injured and the lives lost, adding that they were “precious” and “priceless”.

    Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice-president Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday said that since the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is not part of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) anymore, therefore, it is not her priority.

    Speaking to the media outside the Islamabad High Court (IHC), Maryam denied there were rifts in the PDM, saying that all parties in the alliance had the same stance as Nawaz Sharif.

    “We all share the same ideology and the parties in the PDM have the same position that Nawaz Sharif has,” she clarified.

    Maryam Nawaz said that the PPP is no longer a part of PDM, therefore, it should not be discussed now.

    “PPP is neither my priority nor I have any competition with it,” she said.

    Maryam added that the benefits of resignations would have been evident only if all the parties in the PDM had resigned.

    Maryam went to the IHC for the hearing of an appeal against her conviction in the Avenfield Properties reference.
