  • ‘What is Imran to me if I can bring down Musharraf,’ says Zardari

‘What is Imran to me if I can bring down Musharraf,’ says Zardari

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has said that if he can send former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf home, then bringing Prime Minister Imran Khan down is not a problem for him.

Speaking to a rally in Garhi Khuda Buksh to commemorate the death anniversary of slain PM Benazir Bhutto, Zardari said the opposition parties needed to change their tactics and mindset regarding the anti-government drive instead of “dictating each other”.

The PPP would want to see all parties on a single page in the fight against the government, but “we should not dictate each other what to do”, he added. “We will have to fill up the jails,” said Zardari, adding that Benazir had left a message for her party to keep on fighting for Pakistan.

Taking a jibe at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, the former president said that the PTI has no importance and it will come to an end just like the party formed by Gen Musharraf during his era.

According to the PPP co-chairman, Imran government has a little time left. “They will crumble beneath their own weight.” “These [PTI] are the people who run a cricket team, not a country,” he quipped.

The PPP leader said that incumbent government was targeting political rivals through the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

“NAB is running a black market and issuing warrants for businessmen,” said Zardari, adding that the PPP never targeted the opposition politicians during its tenure.

It is a historical fact that the country suffered whenever the democracy was derailed, he said, calling upon the PM to quit the government if he was unable to run the country.

The country’s exports had fallen and the dollar had seen a steep rise, he said, referring to the poor state of the economy. The PPP had kept inflation in check in spite of the financial crunch, he claimed, adding that “everyone is hoping that one day Bhutto’s party will rise to power” again.

In addition to other politicians, PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz also spoke on the occasion.

  • Man gifts land on Moon to wife on wedding anniversary

According to media reports, Dharmendra Anija a resident of India’s Ajmer city gifted his wife three acres of land on the Moon on their wedding anniversary.

Talking to an International media news outlet he said, “It was our wedding anniversary on December 24. I wanted to do something special for her. Everyone gifts earthly possessions like cars and jewellery, but I wanted to do something different. Therefore, I purchased land on the Moon for her.”

Dharmendra further added that he is happy over the fact that he is the first man in Rajasthan to buy a land on the moon.

The land was bought from the Luna Society International and the whole process took about a year to complete.

Dharmendra’s wife Sapna expressed her happiness over receiving an “out of the world” gift from her husband. “I’m extremely happy. I never expected he would gift me something so special. The party was organised by professional event organisers, and the setting was surreal. It felt like we are literally on the moon, said Sapna. The husband gifted a framed certificate of the property document to his wife.

Earlier this year, a man from Rawalpindi bought a one-acre plot of land on the moon as a wedding gift for his wife. The land was bought for $45 from the International Lunar Lands Registry.

    NO NEWS WEEKEND
    Sunday, 27th December 2020

To be honest, it seems like Pakistanis are sick of politics. And I’ve been feeling the same way. Today when I was posting the morning mood on our Instagram and Facebook stories, I asked if people were feeling more like news or more like entertainment. 70 percent of you chose entertainment over news. Sometimes I check out news websites, like I have before writing this newsletter and come across news like PM Imran saying that the opposition is just as bad as Indian propaganda and the way the Pakistan army is being ‘attacked’ has never happened in Pakistan’s history. Today the Pakistan People’s Party is having a rally in to commemorate Benazir Bhutto’s death anniversary and on one of the last Sundays of the year, will you be watching what they have to say?
If our analytics have anything to show, then no. Most of you are busy reading entertainment stories. Stories like Google listing Esra Bilgic as Yasir Hussain’s mother or watching Ashar check out Layers, the super viral bakery in Lahore to see if the hype is worth it. Many of you debated on our opinion piece this weekend about women and the fact that they want to have fun. I really enjoyed Urooj’s video of visiting one of the fanciest churches in Lahore as they set up to celebrate Christmas and then learn something new about sustainable and organic farming from Hanna Bajwa who runs an organic farm in Lahore.
Reading about Maryam Nawaz saying that her uncle Shehbaz Sharif would’ve been prime minister if he had betrayed his brother, or that journalist Saleem Safi claims that Zardari and Bilawal are making a deal. Same. Old. News.
Can I be real? I’m sick of it. Are you?

  • Winner winner chicken dinner: KFC launches gaming console

Winner winner chicken dinner: KFC launches gaming console

In what seems to be just another news for 2020, fast-food giant KFC has launched a gaming console that can also keep chicken warm. It’s called KFConsole.  Forget the PS5, ignore the XBox, the true king of gaming consoles is KFC.

Back in June this year, KFC released a ridiculously hilarious trailer for the KFConsole right after Sony’s PS5 reveal. The tech world didn’t take the news seriously and considered this a marketing stunt from KFC.

    https://twitter.com/kfcgaming/status/1271487675929890816?s=20

KFC has collaborated with Cooler Master and has launched a gaming console that is capable of handling 4K gaming titles at 240 fps.

But what makes this console special, apart from the brand that it is coming from, is that has the world’s first built-in chicken chamber in it. KFC promises to keep the contents of the chicken chamber hot and ready for consumption for gamers. This is made possible thanks to a custom-build cooling system that manages to keep the hardware working at normal temperature while the heat precipitated through the console’s component will be used to warm the console’s chicken chamber.

According to reports, Mark Cheevers, KFC PR head in a press release said, “This machine is capable of running games at top-level specs, all on top of keeping your meal warm for you to enjoy during your gaming experience, what’s not to like?” What’s not to like indeed.

Continuing with his wit Cheevers remarked, “If Sony or Microsoft want any tips on how to engineer a chicken chamber for their efforts next time, they’d be welcome to get in touch.”

The KFConsole is not just a product born out of a marketing gimmick. According to the reports, it is powered with an Intel NUC CPU, a 1TB SSD by Seagate Barracuda, and an Nvidia GPU. According to Cooler Master, KFConsole also has a one of a kind swappable GPU slot that can be used for easy upgrades.

  • Akcent’s Adrian Sina ‘would love’ to work with Ayesha Omar

Lead vocalist of the Romanian band Akcent, Adrian Sina has expressed his desire to collaborate with Ayesha Omar.

During a live session on Instagram, when the interviewer asked Sina who he has a crush on in Pakistan, the singer replied: “I would love to feature with Ayesha Omar.”

“She is a genius and really talented,” he added.

However he said that he has never met the Pakistani actor.

Later while talking about his visit to Pakistan, Sina revealed that the one thing he misses is from the country is tea. The singer had enjoyed a “fantastic cup of tea” with former DG ISPR General Asif Ghafoor at the ISPR HQ.

Meanwhile, reacting to Sina’s desire to work with her, Ayesha expressed her disbelief and excitement.

“Akcent is a huge name, I have always been a fan of his music”, said Ayesha, adding that she is really grateful for his comments and would love to work with him.

“Thank you so much for your appreciation for me and my work. I would love to collaborate with you whether its a song, an album, a digital campaign, or a film. The possibilities are endless,” said Omar.

    The Current Insider
    Friday, 25th December 2020

What does it mean to be successful? For me, lately, it’s if I manage to control myself from overeating – that Karachi biryani, those Lahore Layers wale cupcakes. Success ultimately is the feeling you get when you do what you set out to do – no matter how big or small – right? Sunny days for Karachi, Lahore and Quetta today but Islamabad and Peshawar aren’t as successful with their cloudy days. Looks like the Pakistan Democratic Movement isn’t going to be very successful either – cracks have appeared within the ranks as Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman’s spokesperson was heard on television, saying that Maulana might not be attending the rally on Benazir’s death anniversary in Larkana on the 27th. Even though he’s been invited. Maulana aside, the PML-N and PPP both look kind of uneasy about having to resign from their parliament seats – even though their leadership is saying they have to. Indian Actor Aamir Khan said in 2012 that he knew in his heart that PM Khan would be successful. He wished him the best and said he would come to Pakistan after PM Khan won the election – he hasn’t yet but you never know, right? The year is about to end and I don’t know, I don’t feel like I’ve accomplished much. Is there anything we remember about 2020 that isn’t coronavirus? Here are 10 iconic pictures of Pakistan in 2020 that will make you laugh and think oh haan year, yeh bhi tou hua tha. Fazeela Abbasi, Hamza Ali Abbasi’s sister, was successful in making people think she looked like Katrina Kaif – whether that was intentional or not, I have to admit she looked pretty amazing at Naimal’s sister’s wedding. Mahira Khan is in quarantine because she tested positive for corona, but she has been successful in getting the younger generation want to know more about Madam Noor Jehan – since Mahira has been spending her time listening to Madam’s golden voice in Chandni Raatein. In the end, on this glorious Friday, Christmas Day, and Quaid-e-Azam’s birthday, I hope and wish all of you success in whatever you want – even if it is wanting to know what to watch this weekend (don’t worry, we have you covered). And if you’re going to spend your time with the T.V. on while stalking people on Instagram, Fahad’s tech review this week is on how to keep your phone hack-proof (I’m hoping the next one is how to successfully hack into someone’s phone without them knowing).
We are off tomorrow, but see you Sunday!

    Current Baba’s Prediction

Do you remember kis tarha bachpan mien you used to believe in Santa Claus? Chalen abhi nahi kartay tou kya hua? But make a wish or if you already have one tou I’m sure aaj something good will happen to you!

‘Bigg Boss’ winner Gauahar Khan chooses Pakistani designer for nikkah ceremony

Bollywood actor and Big Boss winner Gauahar Khan tied the knot on Friday in Mumbai an intimate nikkah ceremony. For her big day, Khan donned a beautiful ivory and gold ensemble by Saira Shakira. Her groom Zaid Darbar’s sherwani was also from the same fashion label.

Sharing pictures from the nikkah on social media, Khan wrote: “Qubool Hai.”

The actor also thanked Saira Shakira and Laam for the customized “dream nikkah” outfit.

Gauahar accesorized her outfit with kundan jewellery and completed her look with clean makeup and a bright, red lip.

An adorable video of Khan giving her husband Zaid final touches before the ceremony has gone viral on social media.

The couple had first announced their wedding news on social media when Khan had posted pictures with the caption: “It gives us immense joy to announce that we are tying the knot and embarking on a journey of forever.”

Talking about their love story, Gauahar recently shared that there was no courtship period. “I met him, we hit it off and he didn’t think he would propose to someone, marriage was not on his mind. When he asked me, it wasn’t planned. It was in a flow and after meeting me, in literally over a month, he proposed to me. There were no second thoughts.”

While their nikkah was a low-key affair, their reception was a grand one with several notable personalities present including Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Manish Malhotra. Khan even donned a bold gold and maroon Manish Malhotra lehenga for the reception. Zaid complemented her in a black and gold sherwani paired with a matching shawl.

  • Naked man interrupts Pakistan-NZ Test match

Naked man interrupts Pakistan-NZ Test match

A naked man invaded the field during the first Test match between Pakistan and New Zealand on Saturday.

The security was a little late to react while the nude pitch invader ran into the field during the first day of the first Test match at the Bay Oval.

Pakistan’s captain Mohammad Rizwan and New Zealand’s captain Kane Williamson looked on as the pitch invader ran onto the field and passed near them.

This is not the first incident of its kind.

During the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 one-day match between England and New Zealand a bizarre incident in the 34th over caught everyone’s attention. A nude pitch invader took advantage of a break in play to run onto the field and interrupt proceedings.

With New Zealand struggling at 145 for six in the 34th over, a fan took to the field. The naked man, wearing just a green hat, managed to reach the middle of the pitch and get close up to New Zealand batsmen Tom Latham and Mitchell Santner before managing to avoid security. The man was eventually hauled away by seven men and then broke free before being tackled to the ground.

Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first. While Black Caps have scored 222 runs for 3. Williamson is on 94 (not out), Nicholls scored 42 runs (not out), Taylor scored 70 runs. Shaheen took three wickets by giving 55 runs. Match will now resume tomorrow for the second day.
