Best entertainment news in the industry, we break entertainment stories as soon as celebrities post on their social media and do Pakistani drama reviews.
Social media users were over joyed when after seven long years, Korean stars Gong Yoo and Lee Dong-Wook reunited in a commercial for SK Enmove. The duo, who are known to be good friends and have publicly supported each other’s projects, rocked to stardom with their 2016 drama ‘Goblin’, one of the best K-dramas to come out so far. Gong Yoo plays the immortal guardian Kim Shin and Lee plays the Grim Reaper Wang Yeo, who agrees to help him.
The Korean heart-throbs broke social media a few days ago when they hinted at the collaboration with a polaroid shared on their Instagram accounts.
We have to agree with fans that after falling in love with ‘Goblin’, this was truly a treat to witness.
gong yoo and lee dong wook smiling and giggling at each other was not in my 2023 bingo card but i accept this wholeheartedly i love them so mcuh pic.twitter.com/b5982f0GSG
Is ‘Aurat Card’ even a thing now? Apparently actor Humaima Malick claims it is, implying that it helps women get away with causing trouble.
The wife of the late controversial television host Amir Liaquat, Bushra Iqbal, was a guest on a recent podcast where she addressed her husband’s leaked video scandal. Bushra said that honour is not just important for a woman, but for a man as well.
“Honour is not just a woman’s. A man has honour as well. Had this happened to a woman, the entire country would have been out on the street, burning things. But a woman had done this. Men and women are kept equal. God has not kept the level of punishment different in the Quran.”
The videos were allegedly leaked by the late television host’s third wife Dania Shah, who claimed in May 2022 that she was several beaten and forced to make sexual videos to send to people abroad.
In the videos, Amir Liaquat could be seen in a compromising state, unclothed as he walks around a room.
Dania Shah was arrested from her home in December 2022, and later released in 2023 after her lawyer argued that the phone number that had leaked the videos did not belong to the woman.
Actress Humaima Malick has backed Bushra Iqbal’s comment by sharing the clip where the widow speaks about honor, and in the caption of her Instagram stories she wrote: “Waqai Aurat Card is too easy, a man is also a human being.”
We are completely in favor of Bushra Iqbal’s views that no person, whether man or a woman, should be publicly humiliated with their personal videos but Humaima Malick trying to claim that this only happened because the ‘Aurat Card’ exists is extremely disappointing, and proof of how easily women are bunched up in a whole as culprits to blame for the actions of a single person.
There is no proof that the person responsible for the video leak was a woman. If the ‘Aurat Card’ did exist then more women, like Humaima Malick’s brother’s ex-wife Syeda Aliza, could have benefitted from such a thing as ‘Aurat Card’, because then she wouldn’t have had to suffer from domestic violence during her marriage to Feroze Khan, Humaima’s brother.
For an actor to publicly claim the ‘Aurat Card’ exists in a country like Pakistan, where more women are beaten, tortured by family members and very few cases are brought to the light, proves how little it takes to side against all women. Nothing is done for those who are consistently clamoring for justice. It’s incredibly dissapointing to witness such a sexist mindset among women.
Sajal Aly is by far one of the best actors the Pakistani entertainment industry has ever produced. Her older dramas still garner praise from people who are just now getting to see the actor’s filmography. Recently, an X user responded to a tweet quoting a powerful paragraph from Trevor Noah’s book ‘Born A Crime’ where his mother talks about how men love breaking down women and molding them to their tastes, by sharing a clip from Aly’s old drama ‘Rangreza’.
In the clip, Sajal’s character is seen shutting down her father, tired of him mistreating her mother all these years. The video has received praise from social media, with people blown away by the powerful monologue, some of them stating that they had underestimated the actress for so long.
Pakistani dramas rare depict daughters who refuse to go down the sati savitri trope, standing up to their abusive dads to let him know that their misbehavior is not acceptable. Social media users were enthralled by Sajal’s powerful performance.
I love the type of roles Sajal Ali has taken on recently. Full unapologetic, powerful roles. She’s kinda taken over the baton from Saba Qamar https://t.co/92n7EKb6TS
Every time I see @Iamsajalali act, I RISE in love of her freakishly exceptional craft once again. She is a generational talent, only one of her like, matchless, flawless & impregnable. She is here to conquer to world ❤️#SajalAlyhttps://t.co/3s5B04uIGx
Never getting over this performance of Sajal’s. Everytime I come across a scene of hers from O Rangreza, I’m left in awe. Sassi is and will always be a . One of my all time favorite characters. https://t.co/VYMZ9dz2SQ
‘Heart On The Sleeve’ has been submitted to the Grammys for two awards this year, including ‘Song Of The Year’ and ‘Best Rap Song’. The song, featuring vocals by Drake and Abel Tesfaya aka The Weekend, is AI generated. The New York Times reports that an anonymous songwriter, Ghostwriter, has written the track, as well as another song ‘Whiplash’ which features vocals by Travis Scott and 21 Savage.
Here’s the catch: none of these singers have actually sung the songs.
‘Heart On A Sleeve’ racked up 600,000 streams on Spotify as well as 15 million views on Tiktok but was removed immediately after Drake and The Weeknd’s label, Universal Music Group, reacted. But, the publication reports, the song was eligible for two awards, since the category recognizes writers, rather than performers, taking refuge in a loop hole in the announcement by the Recording Academy in June which banned AI-generated songs from being submitted for consideration, since the song was written by a human.
Harvey Mason, chief executive of the Recording Academy, said:
“I knew right away as soon as I heard that record that it was going to be something that we had to grapple with from an Academy standpoint, but also from a music community and industry standpoint. When you start seeing A.I. involved in something so creative and so cool, relevant and of-the-moment, it immediately starts you thinking, ‘OK, where is this going? How is this going to affect creativity? What’s the business implication for monetization?’”
Meanwhile Ghostwriter wrote a lengthy statement on Twitter where he called for both 21 Savage and Travis Scott to post a collaboration, and clarified that to respect the artists, he would direct royalties earned from the song to them:
“The future of music is here. Artists now have the ability to let their voice work for them without lifting a finger. If you’re down to put it out, I will clearly label it as A.I., and I’ll direct royalties to you. Respect either way.”
Pakistanis were jubilant over their men’s cricket team’s splendid performance against India, however, very little was said about the Pakistani women’s cricket team’s whitewash win against South Africa.
Female celebrities have risen to the challenge, advocating for more recognition to be given to the team.
Cricket player Shadab Khan shared a picture of the team, calling for them to be treated with equal respect as the men’s cricket team.
Actress Urwa Hocane gushed about how the win made her day, and hoped to see more women entering into every field and succeeding the same way.
“The news made my day! The kind of win I wish to see for #Pakistan everyday in every field regardless of gender, we need our full force! With all that potential our only option is to work harder & win at everything for the world to see!”

Mawra Hocane posted a caption on her Instagram stories where she congratulated the team captain Sidra Amin, and the rest of the women’s cricket team for their fabulous performance.
Is there anything Shehzad Roy can’t do? A phenomenal singer, pro at the youthful glow (we’re still convinced he’s a vampire) and a philanthrope working towards changing the education system of Pakistan are just proof that he’s the G.O.A.T.
Recently the singer wowed social media with a new education initiative at his Zindagi Trust where students from working class families are given the best education. A clip, showing three young students playing violins in the music program of Fatima Jinnah government school, has gone viral.
“This isn’t an elite private school,” the ‘Laga Re’ singer wrote. “It’s Fatima Jinnah government school adopted by @ZindagiTrust Here V also run a world-class music program in professionally designed studios. Young girls play everything from Beethoven to Eastern classical & there is no fee. We are driving change.”

The short clip has recieved praise from politicians like Sherry Rehman and other social media users who attended institutions run by Zindagi Trust, confirming that the organisation was making sure their students are well provided for, and are giving them quality education.
Digital Rights activist Hija Kamran wrote:
“As an all-time fan of ZindagiTrust, I just want to say that this particular school can easily beat elite private schools based on how it looks, managed and taken care of. I miss the few mornings I spent here for work. Did you know that they also have their own vegetable garden?”

“I’ve been to the Fatima Jinnah School on two occasions: once to judge an inter-class dramatics competition (in which a Chacha Chakkan rendition was particularly delightful) and once to judge oratory. Roy and his team are doing such good work there—and they keep aiming higher!”

Social media users lauded how the education initiative continued to take progressive steps that even private schools could not provide, and hoped more schools could introduce arts programs to their students.
Every school should start giving students an opportunity to learn arts.
People involved in arts live a better life for themselves as well as others.
When the Queen summons her subjects, they appear at once!
Beyonce’s successful Renaissance Tour recently performed at Los Angeles’ SoFi stadium on the same day the singer turned 42. Previously, the singer requested her followers who attended the show to mark the occasion by wearing silver, the color of the astrological sign Virgo. It wasn’t only the hardcore Bee hive fanbase, but celebrities from all over Hollywood, who attended the birthday show. From Diane Ross to Katy Perry, here are all the A-list celebrities who attended the birthday concert.
Legendary singer Diane Ross serenaded the ‘Halo’ singer on stage by singing Happy birthday for her
‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ stars Kim, along with her daughter North, Khloe Kardashian and Kris Jenner all styled to the theme and attended the concert.
‘Part of me’ singer Katy Perry had downed a silver gown along with a pink lip and shared videos of Beyonce performing with her daughter Blue Ivy on stage.
But it seems like AP Dhillon has seemingly debunked these rumors, with a pinned comment by the producer Rebbel below the ‘Without You’ music video which reads:
“This beat is not copied or stolen. It’s produced by me and AP Dhillon rightfully purchased this beat off me and now owns the exclusive rights. I’m grateful to have been part of this record.”
Actress Sajal Aly is once again going viral on the internet but for a very absurd reason. A user on X (formerly Twitter) shared a clip of the actress speaking at a red carpet interview.
When asked about her opinion on relationships, the ‘Ye Dil Mera’ actress said:
“People will start rising in love instead of falling in love,” responded Sajal. “You know what I mean? You know we say ‘fall in love’, why do you fall in love man? Just rise in love!”
The user who shared the tweet mocked the actress but other tweeps defended the actress by pointing out ‘rising in love’ is a healthier alternative approach to relationships, where one is encouraged to gain a fresh insight to life after meeting someone new, even by sharing how previously writers and films defending this concept.
A user shared a quote from Toni Morrison’s book ‘Jazz’ which talked about the same concept of rising in love.
“Nobody gave you to me. Nobody said that’s the one for you. I picked you out. Wrong time, yep, and doing wrong by my wife. But the picking out, the choosing. Don’t ever think I fell for you, or fell over you. I didn’t fall in love, I rose in it. I saw you and made up my mind. My mind. And I made up my mind to follow you too.”
Another shared the proclaimed Urdu poet Ahmad Faraz had defended the same concept in an article and spoke about the need to rise in love rather than fall in it.
I have read an interview of Ahmed Faraz published in a newspaper. He said same thing that we rise in love… But y'all are hating on her bcz of her diiferent political views than that of yours… https://t.co/VSAH938C13
Another user shared a clip by screenwriter and producer Jemima Khan, who had also worked with Sajal for ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’ and had spoken in an interview about encouraging more women to walk into love rather than fall in it.
Well, “You don’t fall in love but you walk into love” – Jemima Khan.
Other users defended the actress’s healthy approach to love by pointing out that it should make people better, not encourage them to submit themselves entirely to another person.
English is my first language I see nothing wrong in what she said In fact Its a good thought Love should make us better https://t.co/wEmwB8wWDp
Exactly our point. Please go touch grass or read a book before coming after female celebrities this way.
I’m sorry but none of you read or engage in books as much as yall say you do? Because if you did, you’d know this isn’t a new thought she’s come up with. I’ve heard yhat saying before. And you’d also know what she meant was you’d want to empower in love not just submit aka fall https://t.co/Dcbt77Qqmd
Some also slammed the user for indirectly mocking the actress’s English skills, and criticised trolls today for relentlessly targetting female actresses for small reasons.
Well, “You don’t fall in love but you walk into love” – Jemima Khan.
Veteran actress Shagufta Ejaz wants more women- especially those who aren’t young- to break down the misconceptions and stigma surrounding cosmetic surgery.
The actress recently uploaded a vlog where she opened up about getting Botox surgery and provided a breakdown of what the procedure entails. The actor said her intention was to reduce the wrinkles on her forehead and eyes, adding that this was the fourth time she was getting Botox.
“So, I didn’t want a frozen expression. I wanted to frown and lift my eyebrows and go sad and all. So, this is why I told [the doctor] that I wanted a 40% erase, and 60% expressions.”
The actress showed her fans how the procedure progressed, showcasing the bruises around her eyes and the wrinkles on her forehead fading.
Shagufta also talked in her vlog about the stigma surrounding Botox.
“I believe that one should be honest about whatever you do,” pointed out the ‘Mere Damad’ actress. “A lot of people are getting it done; some want to disclose it, some do not. This is their personal choice and I thought this is the fourth time in my entire life that I’m getting this done and this time I wanted that I should share with you.”
We’re incredibly happy that more actresses are encouraging women to stop listening to the stereotypical remarks that as women age, they must stop focusing on their looks and be sent out to pasture. Previously, Shahista Lodhi slammed age-shaming remarks while speaking about being mistaken as her son’s girlfriend. Lodhi reflected on how in Pakistan, women here are shamed if they invest too much attention on their looks as they grow older:
“If you’ve had kids at a young age then is that also my fault? Apparently, that becomes a taunt too here…Why should I lie about it? It feels good that I have maintained myself even at this age.”
On ‘The Talk Talk Show’, the aesthetic physician recalled counselling a woman who was kicked out of her house because of stretch marks, stressing that its not worth saving an abusive marriage if it depends on you getting surgery.
