  • Government announces reopening of cinemas in eight cities of Pakistan

    Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has announced that cinema halls and multiplexes will reopen in eight cities of Pakistan from October 1st.

    The decision was taken in the meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special initiatives Asad Umar. It was decided in the meeting that that Covid related restrictions will be eased in the cities that have achieved the targeted vaccination rate. The cities who have targeted vaccination rate includeds, Gilgit, Skardu, Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Quetta, and Peshawar.

    “We are relaxing restrictions in these eight cities from October 1,” Asad Umar said in a press conference. “The rest of the cities and districts will have to implement on the same restrictions that are currently in place, till October 15,” he added.

    Actor Ushna Shah has lashed out at Bollywood director Sanjay Leela Bhansali for making a film on Lahore’s Heera Mandi.

    The Balaa actor said: “Culture collaboration is one thing but this is appropriation. Mimicking ours will make the project lose authenticity! India has a plethora of rich culture and history to film, this isn’t theirs to make.”

    According to reports in the Indian media, the period drama titled Heera Mandi will revolve around the lives of sex workers, working in Lahore’s red-light district.

    Vibhu Puri who is Bhansali’s former assistant will direct the project, which will feature Alia Bhatt in the lead. However, other names like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, Deepika Padukone, Parineeti Chopra, Manisha Koirala, and Vidya Balan are also under consideration.

    Earlier, actor Yasir Hussain slammed the Ram Leela director for his Netflix debut.

    ‘Zindagi Gulzar Hai’ pair Fawad-Sanam set to romance in three projects

    Actors Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed are set to be seen opposite each other in three different projects.

    The Zindagi Gulzaar Hai duo will be seen in a television commercial. Earlier, pictures of the actors from BTS (behind the scenes) were circulating on social media.

    Later, it was also reported that the two have signed the feature film Aan, directed by Haseeb Hassan.

    As per recent reports, the Humsafar star is reportedly starring in an upcoming Zee5 web series.

    Indian producer Shailja Kejriwal who has produced films like Qarib Qarib Single shared a picture of the Kapoor and Sons hero on her Instagram with the caption reading, ‘FINALLY!’ Pakistani director Mehreen Jabbar commented ‘excited for this one’ under the picture, further hinting towards the project being a Zee5 show since Jabbar has created the likes of Ek Jhooti Love Story for the same platform.

    While Saeed’s involvement in the project is yet to be confirmed, fans are already celebrating the rumours.

    The hit on-screen pair did a photoshoot for Sadaf’s clothing line recently.

    Leading actor of Pakistan drama industry Gohar Rasheed has said that whenever he gets married, he will become a husband like singer Falak Shabir.

    Recently, Gohar appeared in an interview with an online portal in which he discussed various topics including his career, recent sociopolitical incidents in Pakistan and his reason for doing the role of Danyal in Laapata.

    He also talked about his plans for marriage, while referring to the Nazar-e-Bad actor Sarah Khan’s husband Falak Shabir, he said that he is very impressed by him.

    The Mann Mayal star said: “Inshallah! Whenever I get married in life, I will be a husband like Falak because I am very impressed with him.”

    The actor said: “In our country, husbands are reluctant to show love to their wives. They are afraid to give flowers to their wives in front of the world. They do all sorts of things, but when it comes to expressing love to their wives, men are afraid to do.”

    He mentioned: “I have seen with my own eyes that Falak takes great care of Sarah. When he comes to the seat, he takes care of his wife in front of everyone.”

    “It is a great pleasure to see Falak taking care of Sarah and I want every man to take care of his wife in the same way”, he concluded.

    He also praised the Mere Bewafa diva for performing difficult scenes during pregnancy.

    It should be noted that Gohar and Sarah are currently working together in the drama serial Laapata which is being aired on Hum TV.

    Release dates of fifteen Bollywood films announced as cinemas open in India

    India’s biggest production house, Yash Raj Films (YRF) has announced the release dates of its four big screen projects as cinemas are set re-open in late October after staying shut due to pandemic woes. The films include Prithviraj, Shamshera, Jayeshbhai Jordaar and Bunty Aur Babli 2 starring A-list stars.

    The Maharashtra government has announced that theatres will be opening in the state on October 22 and filmmakers have taken the opportunity to announce their next.

    Bunty Aur Babli 2

    Yash Raj Film’s Bunty Aur Babli 2 starring Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji, Siddhant Chaturvedi and talented debutant Sharvari. The much-awaited, hilarious out and out family entertainer will release worldwide on November 19, 2021.

    Prithviraj

    Big-budget Prithviraj releases worldwide on January 21, 2022. It stars superstar Akshay Kumar in and as king Prithviraj Chauhan. Miss World Manushi Chhillar debuts as Sanyogita opposite Akshay, while Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood play pivotal roles.

    Jayeshbhai Jordaar

    One of the most anticipated films, YRF’s Jayeshbhai Jordaar, starring superstar Ranveer Singh and Shalini Pandey releases worldwide on February 25, 2022. A family entertainer set in Gujarat, Ranveer will be seen playing a Gujarati man, who becomes an unlikely hero which is helmed by Divyang Thakkar.

    Shamshera

    Shamshera starring superstar Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor is an adrenaline-pumping entertainer which is set to release on March 18, 2022.

    Actor Usman Mukhtar recently stated in an interview that he would rather think of other career options than disturbing his mother and shift to Karachi for more acting opportunities.

    The Sabaat actor appeared on Gloss Etc by Maliha Rehman and talked about his current drama Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay, his role and other aspects of the story.

    While talking about more work opportunities, the Anaa actor said: “I have lost some projects but for me, my mother comes first before anything else. and she’s unwell so I can’t leave her in Islamabad and come,”

    He said, sharing that he has taken up very few projects where he had to travel to Karachi for longer periods of time.

    “I would rather consider other career options and move to Karachi for more acting work . It is my duty to be there for her and I don’t think that’s anything inspirational or out of this world. She is the most important person of my life and she needs to be comfortable in the situation she is in.”

    The Parchi star has also lost projects due to his reluctance to move to the port city. He is, however, willing to travel for about two-four weeks for projects only when there’s someone to look after his mother in his hometown.

    Usman will be seen next in Sinf e Aahan, a collaboration between Six Sigma Plus, Next Level Entertainment, and ISPR. It will air on ARY Digital.

    Meanwhile, female stars Mehwish Hayat and Resham cheered the actor for his love of his mother.

    Government begins restoration of Dilip Kumar, Raj Kapoor’s Peshawar homes

    The restoration and renovation work of Bollywood legends Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor’s ancestral homes in Peshawar has started after the government got possession of the properties.

    Raj Kapoor’s ancestral home, known as Kapoor Haveli, and Dilip Kumar’s ancestral residence are situated in the Qissa Khwani Bazaar area of Peshawar.

    As per Geo News, the government is planning to restore the homes to their original state.

    Initially, the debris from both houses was removed to begin the restoration work.

    Meanwhile, Dilip Kumar’s nephew Fawad Ishaq lauded the government’s decision to restore his uncle and Raj Kapoor’s ancestral home.

    He further said Dilip Kumar’s attachment to Peshawar never diminished.
