A local court in Islamabad, during the hearing of the Noor Mukadam murder case, has requested the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to grant additional time to complete the trial. For the second time, the trial of the case could not be finished within the two-month deadline set by the Islamabad High Court.
“Additional Sessions Judge Atta Rabbani has written a letter to the Islamabad High Court seeking more time to complete the trial. In the letter, Judge Atta Rabbani has stated that since all lawyers representing the accused hail from outside Islamabad, the dates for the hearings have to be fixed according to their availability and convenience,” Express Tribune has reported.
The letter also stated that various petitions were heard throughout the trial, which wasted the court’s time and resulted in the trial court not being completed within the two-month time limit.

Muslim students are continuing to protest outside their college gate on Friday after they were barred from entering the premises for wearing a hijab. The college is located in Karnataka state, India.
Police arrived at the protest after hundreds of students joined the sit-in protest and demanded that the girls be allowed to enter the college.
Parents of the students also joined and questioned college authorities on sending their children out of school and making them stand on the road for wearing a hijab. However, college authorities claim that they have to follow the orders from the government.
The management claims that if they allow hijab on their campus then other Hindu students would take saffron shawls and religious symbolism is not permitted in the educational institute.
Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendra said that religion should be kept away from education and students should neither come wearing hijab or saffron shawls to schools.
On Thursday, the principal of the college closed the gate for students wearing hijab. This incident happened after some Hindu students in saffron shawls were stopped at the gate as well.
They were raising slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’.
For a teacher to stand as a mute spectator when his students are crying to be allowed into the premises. This is not apartheid ? Are women in hijab a threat while yogis in constitutional offices proudly flaunt saffron robes. Her body, her agency, her choice. https://t.co/UMTKStUjdo

However, Azhar Mashwani, the Punjab chief minister’s focal person for digital media has said that the news reports are fake, and no such decision has been made. He also shared the screenshots of the “false” news.
Journalist Benzair Shah while talking to The Current said that the news is “not accurate.” She added that the director of public instruction colleges Punjab also confirmed that the notification circulating is from 2010.

Serial number 19 of the document says only male staff members are allowed to teach in male colleges and only female staff members are allowed to teach in female colleges. As per our sources, the document is “apparently new”.
As per sources of The Current, the government will issue a clarification on the matter and the checklist has always been there since 2008.

The New York Times (NYT) has purchased the popular word game ‘Wordle’. The Times reported that Wordle was purchased for “in the low seven figures” from its founder, Josh Wardle. According to the company, new and existing users will be able to play the game for free at first.
Josh Wardle took to Twitter to announce the deal.
“I am incredibly pleased to announce that I’ve reached an agreement with The New York Times for them to take over running Wordle going forward. If you’ve followed along with the story of Wordle, you’ll know that NYT games play a big part in its origins and so this step feels very natural to me,” Wardle wrote on Twitter.
People are concerned whether the game will remain free for the users:
NYT buying Wordle is just an extension of today’s world where we can’t imagine a free good available to everyone, it has to be owned by someone & made available to few. A person created the game out of love for his wife & didn’t mind sharing because that’s what love is
Wordle has caught the attention of Pakistani Twitter for a while now. Miftah Ismail is among the many politicians who regularly shares his Wordle score on Twitter.
More recently, former wife of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan, Jemima Goldsmith, shared her Wordle score on Twitter but the replies to her tweet were not related to the game.
