Earn $20,000 – by completing a terrifying tour at a ‘Haunted House’

Russ McKamey, owner of a Haunted House in Tennessee, offers visitors $20,000 if they complete a 10-hour tour of the house. The tour is apparently a very disturbing and horrifying experience. No one has so far been able to complete the tour. McKamey’s Manor tour is known as the scariest haunted attraction in the United States.

Before you go on this haunted tour, you are required to sign a 40-page waiver, insurance and get a doctor’s clearance.

    Details of the waiver here:

Participants who can visit the Manor have to be 18-20 with parental approval or be 21 and older. Once they go inside, “there is no quitting unless serious physical or psychological injury is present.” Having a panic attack doesn’t count!

    The haunted experience

Reports say that the disturbing tour may also include choking, shock dog collars, and tasers.

The waiver says that “injuries may occur during their tour…which may include, but not limited to, head, neck and back injuries, death, stroke, and traumatic brain injury.”

No one has completed the haunted house tour

Even though some visitors have taken legal action against McKamey, he’s protected by the waivers and video footage.

You have to sign a 40 page waiver before you can go in

A Change.org petition was started to shut down McKamey Manor, due to concerns over physical and mental trauma. Almost 60,000 people have signed it so far, which says the experience is “a torture chamber under disguise” and “some people have had to seek professional psychiatric help and medical care for extensive injuries”.

Karachi University student creates edible shopping bags

A student from Karachi University has made environment-friendly plastic from a marine plant. But that is not even the most exciting thing about it.

What’s interesting about this type of plastic is that it’s edible. You can mix it with water or any other hot fluid and drink it without any harmful effects.

As per reports, the plastic can be
used for making shopping bags. When it comes to its commercial aspects, the
only disadvantage is that it cannot hold high-temperature liquids like tea,
because it dissolves in hot fluids.

However, cold liquids like milk can
be carried in these bags for a short period.

A recent clip that is being circulated on social media shows the host mixing the plastic in the water and then drinking it to show that it does not have any side effects and can solve the pollution problem that the country is facing from excessive use of non-biodegradable plastic.

Big idea into a successful business? Read this book

The first thing you need to know about the book “Sprint: How to Solve Big Problems and Test New Ideas in Just Five Days” is that it’s been written by the guys at Google. Jake Knapp, John Zeratsky and Braden Kowitz are three partners at Google Ventures, an organisation that helps entrepreneurs by investing in their startups.

Post it notes play a big role in the Sprint methodology

The book isn’t tedious at all, which is what someone would expect from a book that discusses how to resolve problems. It gives you simple instructions and examples on how to sort out the issue your start up (or big firm) is facing.

The book is very hands on, asking the reader to arrange five days for five long sessions of meetings to identify a problem, question it, work it out and test it. So in just five days, you are able to test an idea and see if it works or not.

Interactive brainstorming leads to effective meetings

Although the method described in the book is for an already up and running startup, or a big business, the ideas and methodology can apply to one person or two. It just helps sort out a muddled idea or a difficult plan. And is a fun read too.

Don’t want to buy or read the book? Here is the video version of what the book is all about

We actually tried implementing the method which is why we are such big fans of it. We used the plan for day one and day two and implemented it on a small group of people who needed to resolve a problem and it was an effective way of getting the problem identified and also coming up with a solution to resolve it.

  • Huawei to launch 6G soon?

    Huawei to launch 6G soon?

Chinese tech giant Huawei has already started working on 6G, the
next generation of mobile networks after 5G, claims company CEO, Ren Zhengfei.

5G is presently believed as the next generation of
mobile communication, providing super-fast data speeds being important to new
technologies like self-driving cars. While most counties in the world are still
waiting for 5G, Huawei CEO Ren Zhengfei claims that the company
is already doing research on 6G.

As per reports, Huawei has been working on 6G along with 5G. However, the development of 6G is still underway and has a long way to go before it becomes a reality. The technology is still 10 years away as there are a lot of other things that need to be taken care of.

Before a new mobile network generation can
commercialize, standards need to be set by the industry. This has already
happened in 5G’s case and discussions are ongoing for 6G, but standards can
take years to form. It is also unclear what 6G will be used for.

The company is currently focusing its efforts and
resources on 5G deployment. It has signed more than 50 commercial 5G contracts,
more than its closest competitors Nokia and Ericson.

  • How to keep your closet organised

How to keep your closet organised

We’ve all been through the never-ending process of trying to keep our cupboards organised. One minute it’s organised, and the next it’s an absolute disaster.

Here are a few tips to help you keep your cupboard in good shape.

Stack thick items like jeans and sweaters

Winters are coming and sweaters tend to occupy a lot of space. The best solution is to stack up the bulky winter wear. These items are thick, so they won’t crinkle or lose their shape when you stack them. Also, you’ll be able to see each item in a stack clearly, making it that much easier to find what you’re looking for.

    Roll T-shirts and pajamas

Things like cotton shirts, pajamas and even work out clothes can be organized by roll and tuck technique. And put them in your drawer or any storage box. This technique is a major space saver if you do it right. Tuck your rolled clothing into shoe boxes (great for sliding into drawers), or use wire baskets or clear bins (perfect for shelves).

    Hang scarves on hangers

Sure, you can roll them up or stack them if they’re thick, but tying your scarves on a hanger is a way better option for organizing them. Hanging your scarves keeps them wrinkle-free and easy to see and access.

Utilize your wall for hanging jewellery and accessories

Hang accessories like belts, jewelry, hats or
ties on a wall. You can use nails or towel hooks or opt for a more personalized
approach like a stylish coat rack.

Store your most-used clothes at eye level

Keep everything you wear regularly in the
middle of your closet at eye level so it’s easy to find. Put lesser-used pieces
directly above or below your most popular clothes, and relegate your least-worn
    items to the top shelf.

  • How to be safe during an earthquake?

How to be safe during an earthquake?

After an earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale jolted different parts of the country on Tuesday, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a warning that aftershocks are highly likely in the next 24 hours.

When an earthquake strikes, most people believe that the best solution is to run out of their houses and offices but this might not be the safest solution.

Here are a few tips you can follow to be safe:

If you are indoor when an earthquake strikes

Drop, Cover, Hold – Drop to your hands and knees. Cover your head and neck with your hands and hold your position until the tremors stop.

Do not run outside – Falling debris or things from the roof can fall on you.

    Avoid using elevators

If you are not near a desk or a table, drop to the floor next to an interior wall and protect your head and neck with your arms.

If in bed stay there and cover head with a pillow, get out of bed only when tremors stop and wear footwear.

Stay away from glass windows and doors.

Do not go near to any furniture, large appliances, mirrors, cabinets filled with heavy items and hanging objects.

If you are outdoors when an earthquake strikes

Move to a clear area if you can do
so safely. Avoid buildings, power lines, trees and other hazards.

If you are near a tall building then get as far away from it when jolts start.

If you are driving then safely pull over to the side of the road and stop when you are able to do so.

Avoid overpasses, bridges, power lines, signs, trees and other things that might collapse or fall on the vehicle.

Stay inside the vehicle until the shaking ends. If a power line falls onto your vehicle, stay inside until a trained person removes the hazard.

  • Study: the right way to gossip. Are you doing it?

Study: the right way to gossip. Are you doing it?

“Everyone gossips,” says Frank McAndrew, a professor of psychology in the United States while talking to NBC News. He discusses a new study that determines how much humans gossip and how it affects them socially – and how there is a right way to do it.

McAndrew said that people who gained social knowledge (aka gossiped) were far ahead than people who were not interested. People who didn’t indulge in discussing other people “were not good at attracting and keeping mates or maintaining alliances.”

Women tend to engage in more neutral gossip than men

Gossip isn’t “inherently bad,” he suggested and in a study with 467 adults over two-five days, researchers came to a conclusion on how to gossip the right way. They recorded conversations that these people had, and classified anything they heard about a person who was not there as gossip. It was coded as positive, negative or neutral. The data suggested that almost everyone gossiped (only 34 out of 467 individuals did not gossip at all) and majority of the gossip (75 percent) was neutral. Women engaged in more neutral gossip than men.

According to psychologists, a “good gossiper” is a person who is trusted with information and uses it in a responsible way. For example, telling a friend information that might save them from a bad investment or a bad marriage. A bad gossiper shares information in order to get ahead or to be plain malicious, discussing a person’s shortcomings or trouble in their lives for the sake of talking.

Hit program based on an anonymous gossip girl

    To be a good gossiper:

    1. Think twice

Are you breaking someone’s trust by giving away this information or stabbing them in the back? Are you doing it responsibly for valid reasons?

    2. Don’t gossip for personal gain

If you have something to gain by releasing information about someone else, don’t do it. You most likely are not doing it for the right reasons

    3. Don’t distort facts

Do not exaggerate, add details or change the story. If you have to tell a story, tell it exactly how it happened
