  • Does Imran Khan have ‘family relations’ with Donald Trump since 80s? Fawad Chaudhry certainly thinks so

Does Imran Khan have ‘family relations’ with Donald Trump since 80s? Fawad Chaudhry certainly thinks so

Former Federal Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has stated that the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, has “family relations” with newly elected United States President Donald Trump.

Appearing on Samaa’s programme, DO TOK on Friday, Fawad Hussain claimed: “Imran Khan has pictures with Donald Trump’s wife, Ivana Marie Trump, on Google,” which, according to Chaudhry, indicated: “Imran Khan has personal relations with the Trump family.”

The former Broadcasting and Information Minister further stated that Donald Trump does not have a “superficial relationship” with Imran Khan, claiming that both have known each other since 1980.

Due to the party founder’s “cordial relationship” with Donald Trump, Imran Khan was received warmly by the then American President on his arrival in Washington DC back in July 2019, Fawad added.

He further claimed that the Pakistani diaspora had shown massive support to Republican candidate Donald Trump during the US presidential election days.

Earlier, Zulfi Bukhari, a close aide of Imran Khan, while announcing his US visit to meet a “close friend” in the Trump family to discuss the Khan case, had claimed: “Donald Trump’s daughter and son-in-law are friends of mine.”

He had also said that Donald Trump had a “soft corner” for the founder of PTI, noting that the newly elected US President Donald Trump had also shown concern over Imran Khan’s incarceration.

  • Quetta railway station blast leaves 24 dead

Quetta railway station blast leaves 24 dead

At least 24 people were killed and 46 injured on Saturday morning in a bomb blast at Quetta Railway Station.

Speaking to journalists, Quetta Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Mohammad Baloch said that the explosion seemed to be a “suicide blast,” adding that an investigation is underway to probe the nature of the blast.

“The blast took place inside the railway station when the Peshawar-bound express was about to leave for its destination at 9 am,” Mohammad Baloch stated.

According to the SSP Operations, around 150-200 passengers were present at the Quetta railway station when the blast occurred.

Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind confirmed the casualties and revealed that several people were wounded in the explosion, out of whom ten were in critical situation.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti condemned the attack and ordered an immediate investigation of the powerful explosion, noting that terrorists who target innocent people do not deserve any sympathy.

Meanwhile, the banned and militant outfit Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the explosion.

Earlier, train service had been suspended in the province on August 26, following a blast carried out by the BLA, which destroyed the railway bridge between Kolpur and Mach.

Nine people, including five school-going children, had also been killed, and 29 were injured in a blast near girls schools in Mastung, Balochistan district on November 1.

  • Infamous Katcha dacoit and Youtuber killed by police while PTI followers call him a ‘martyr’

Infamous Katcha dacoit and Youtuber killed by police while PTI followers call him a ‘martyr’

Infamous riverine bandit and social media personality Shahid Lund Baloch was killed in a police encounter in a joint operation by Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur police forces on Friday, while Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) followers expressed regret over his death.

Baloch, a notorious criminal, had recently established his own social media presence, where he expressed his views on the socio-political affairs in the country while expressing his support for Bushra Bibi and Khan.

In a short clip of Shahid Baloch being shared by PTI followers on social media, the dacoit stated, “You people are warning me that ‘Vigo people’ would abduct me; let me make it clear for you guys, nobody can do anything like that in our territory. They would have to pay for it. All of you PTI supporters, whether you’re in or outside the country, you people are in my heart.”

“You [PTI followers] people have experienced the worst of oppression by the state. Quran tells us that even if you’re fighting kafirs, women and children must never be involved. But our government leaders have targeted your woman and children as well,” remarked the bandit.

Baloch was wanted by police for over 28 major offences, including the killing of police personnel, terrorism, kidnapping for ransom, attacks on police, murder, and armed robbery. Numerous cases against him were registered across various police stations in the Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur districts.

However, Baloch’s social media presence garnered support from some netizens as he shared his perspective on numerous topics, including the human rights situation in Balochistan. When Mahrang Baloch was leading a long march in Islamabad for the rights of missing persons, Shahid recorded a video in which he stated, “We have no connection with them, but our Baloch tradition teaches us to stand for truth. I urge the Baloch people to wake up and fight for their rights. It’s better to die fighting oppression and injustice than sitting in your homes. We ourselves are helpless and trapped in these jungles while thousands of accusations are put on us by the state; otherwise, I would march to Islamabad myself, along with hundreds of followers, to make this movement a success.”

The outlaw was an open supporter of PTI while, in one video, even warned the institutions, saying, “Army and ISI, listen to me. If you try to kill Imran Khan, you will not be spared. God bless Pakistan.”

In another audio clip that went viral on social media, a man, allegedly Shahid Lund Baloch, could be heard asking for the establishment of a children’s school in the riverine area. “I wanted to request that you promise me that a school will be built for the children and that people will be happy to hear the news. If this problem isn’t solved, then it would be a shame for us. At least 35 children are waiting for your help. Apart from that, more children near our area need education,” stated the man in the audio.

One social media user posted on X, “He was definitely a bandit, but he was also a victim of social and economic inequality.”

Another user posted, “Today, for the first time after hearing the news of the death of bandit Shahid Lind Baloch, I visited his YouTube channel 11 hours ago he shared this video. May Allah forgive you. Amen.”

A PTI leader from Kohat, Aman Afridi, posted, “For 30 years, he was a robber and robbed the common people; no one said anything. Now, guess for yourself, it is not a difficult task to eliminate the criminals who commit theft, robbery and murder around us, but we common people are not included in the interest system of the elites, so this system never moves with our theft, robbery or murder. Shahid Lund Baloch could have lived longer if he had shared in the loot instead of challenging this criminalized system. Copy.”

Another PTI follower by the handle username meddy tweets condemned the death of Baloch, writing, “We will write Shahid Lund Baloch as Shaheed. May Allah forgive him.”

One user wrote: “Shahid Lund Baloch Shaheed. They killed him because he was speaking the truth, speaking the truth bluntly to unholy powers. They killed him because people were listening to him. #ShahidLundBaloch Rest in Peace.”

PTI followers also shared another recent clip of the outlaw with PTI flags in the background in which he said, “I pay my respects to Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi. She has suffered so much with patience. She is a pious woman and any allegations against her character by the government are useless. She has been released from Adiala Jail, and InshaAllah, Imran Khan will be released soon as well.”

In one of the most interesting posts by a netizen, user Azeem Sabzwari had described the historical and cultural significance of local vigilantes or outlaws. In a long thread on September 2, Sabzwari narrated: “This reminds me of Malangi (1890s – 1927), who was a bandit during the British occupation of Punjab. He was known as ‘Robinhood’ in his native district of Kasur. Punjab has a folklore tradition of appreciating bandits who defied the British occupiers & sided with the commoners.”

“Dacoits or bandits emerge out of a political context.  Nizam Lohar and Malangi were both products of the feudalisation of Punjabi society by the British. The same is true of Shahid Lund Baloch who will either be killed or co-opted by those at the helm in Punjab of Pakistan,” predicted this social media user two months ago.

KP govt decides to cut teachers’ salaries involved in protest

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced salary cuts for those involved in the protest as the teachers’ protest enters its fourth day.

KP Financial Advisor Muzammil Aslam told Geo News that teachers’ salaries will be deducted based on their absences from school.

He maintained that while teachers could participate in the protest, they first needed to make sure to attend their classes, warning them that teachers involved in the protest might face pension issues in the future.

On the contrary, Azizullah Khan, president of the All-Primary Teachers Association (APTA), speaking to The News, asserted that teachers want their status to be upgraded.

Addressing the teachers’ demand for upgradation, KP’s financial advisorr said that it’s impossible to upgrade the 175,000 teachers’ status at the same time.

Meanwhile, KP Education Minister Faisal Khan Tarakai said the government had recently accepted the teachers’ demands and is now ready to listen to their concerns again.

He also urged the teachers to end the protest and asserted that closing schools was not the correct approach.

Most polluted city in the world sets record for largest human flag

Pakistani students have set a new world record for creating the largest human flag, leaving behind India’s previous record with over 10,000 students from Army Public Schools (APS) participating in the Lahore Youth Festival, organised by the Punjab Government.

Thousands of students came together in the record-breaking event to form the massive human flag. This record beat India’s prior record of 7,368 participants, which was made earlier this year.

The Nation reported that after setting the record, the students celebrated the achievement with patriotic songs and dances, marking the event as a powerful display of youthful passion.

However, the event took place while the smog engulfed the city, and Lahore’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was surpassing the hazardous level. The government has already placed a green lockdown in the province, and schools are closed till November 17.

Lahore’s AQI today, as of November 8, stands at an alarming level of 516, while Multan is way ahead of it with 1331.

Lahore High Court orders shops to shut down early to combat smog

Lahore High Court (LHC) has imposed a new order to combat smog in Lahore.

Local markets will be closed by 8 pm in the evening to prevent smog while authorities will crack down on smog-emitting vehicles.

During a recent hearing on a plea filed against the Punjab government for not taking effective measures to combat smog, the court ordered all private offices to announce a work-from-home policy for two days and ordered markets to close at 8 pm.

However, the court also ordered the complete closure of markets on Sunday and directed officials to start a crackdown on smog-emitting vehicles.

  • PTI leaders troll govt for past criticism of Donald Trump while celebrating his win

PTI leaders troll govt for past criticism of Donald Trump while celebrating his win

As the Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump swept the polls in the United States on Wednesday, messages of congratulations poured in from across the world. However, unbeknownst to the American public and the President-elect himself, it also created a storm of memes, taunts, and jokes within the Pakistani political sphere, with PTI leaders trolling government leaders for their past critical remarks on Donald Trump.

PTI leaders and supporters claimed that Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal deleted his past tweets critical of the next President of the United States. It should be noted that Ahsan Iqbal has not deleted his old tweets criticising Trump. However, the official page of the ruling party PML-N has indeed deleted its post from 2021 in which Maryam Nawaz compared Trump and Khan.

It must be emphasised that PTI blamed the US for conspiring against its government when Imran Khan was ousted from power through a no-confidence motion in 2022. Founder PTI Imran Khan, in an infamous rally, waved a page in front of a charged crowd, which was allegedly the cypher sent to Islamabad by Pakistan’s ambassador in Washington.

The Intercept, a US-based news website, in August 2023 published what it claimed to be the “cypher” that hinted the US administration wanted to remove Khan from power.

However, later, Khan and his party changed their narratives multiple times while the American-Pakistani community continuously lobbied among US politicians for pressurising Pakistan government to release Imran Khan.

PTI leader Hammad Azhar, who has been in hiding for over a year, posted on X, “Congratulations to @realDonaldTrumpfor winning the US election. Donald was falsely framed, victimised and survived an assassination attempt. It’s the same story as Imran Khan in Pakistan only difference is that our mandate was brazenly stolen. But IK will also be successful soon IA as the people’s power cannot be suppressed for long.”

He also tweeted, “PMLN leaders including Maryam Nawaz, Ahsan Iqbal & others went public in their hate remarks for @realDonaldTrump. Now they are on a delete spree. Unfortunately the ,establishment of Pakistan imposed puppets on us that are not trained in the basics of diplomacy or intl relations.”

French Statesman Charles de Gaulle once said: “Since a politician never believes what he says, he is quite surprised to be taken at his word.”

Since Pakistani politics or its players never cease to amaze, one social media user pointed out Hammad’s tweet from 2016 in which he criticised the former US President himself writing, “Rise of Trump like politicians, protectionist barriers, UK leaving EU, radical Islam; peoples of the world are moving away from each other.”

Another PTI leader, Ali Muhammad Khan, held a press conference saying, “It is hoped that the new US President Donald Trump will realise the mistake that it was wrong to expel Imran Khan on behalf of the Joe Biden government.”

However, the former deputy speaker and another prominent PTI leader who is currently in the United States, Qasim Khan Suri, took to X to blame the Democratic Party for Khan’s fall from power instead of blaming the United States.

Suri posted his speech from 2022 when he was the deputy assembly speaker, in which he blamed the United States for conspiring against Khan due to his alleged “independent foreign policy, economy and the sanctity of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).” Yet, the caption Suri wrote was in clear contrast with the contents of the video, writing, “The crushing defeat of the US Democratic Party, which played an important role in bringing down the government of Imran Khan, in the US presidential election made local facilitators sleepless, many of them immediately issued statements to change their father.”

Suri also took to X to post a viral clip of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif criticising and comparing Khan with Trump while tagging Trump family members as if complaining.

Meanwhile, Imran Khan’s official account also posted a congratulatory message to Donald Trump for his landslide victory in the US elections.

Former President Arif Alvi also took to X to congratulate Trump while comparing his political struggles with Khan, including the assassination attempt on both leaders. “On behalf of the people of my country, and as the 13th President of Pakistan, I would like to congratulate you on your resounding victory to ‘Make America Great Again’. We look forward to continued cooperation as democratic nations. Indeed, your victory must have sent shivers down the spine of dictators and aspiring dictators of the world,” wrote Alvi.

‘America ki sifarish par release hona hai tou behtar hai sulah karlain,’ says Rana Sanaullah

Prime Minister’s Advisor for Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, made a witty jab at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) after some party leaders suggested that incarcerated party founder Imran Khan would be released once newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump takes office.

Rana Sanaullah, speaking on the 365 News ‘HEAD ON’ talk show, said that “it’s better for the party to make peace with the government”’ if they are relying on the U.S. for the release of Khan.

PM Advisor also asserted that there would be “no direct dealing” between PTI and the establishment.

“PTI has only one way of dealing, and that is through parliament, political parties, and political leadership,” he said, adding, “The sooner PTI understands this, the better it will be for the party and the country’s politics.”

When asked about PTI’s recent attempts to hold direct talks with the establishment, Rana Sanaullah said that ISPR clarified in a press conference on May 8 that dialogue could only be done through political parties.

Earlier, PTI’s spokesperson, Raoof Hassan, declared that the party wanted to engage in negotiations with the establishment and political parties through direct negotiations.

“It has been PTI’s policy that we want to engage with the establishment, and I will go a step ahead to say that dialogue between my party and the establishment is inevitable for this state, and we must not delay this,” Hassan claimed in October during an interview on a private news channel.
