    Hyderabad Sunrisers block David Warner on social media

    Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Hyderabad Sunrisers have blocked their former player David Warner on the social media platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter).

    Australian opener David Warner has been a part of IPL franchise Hyderabad Sunrisers. On Tuesday, the Sunrisers picked Australian player Travis Head as opener for INR 6.80 crore in the players’ auction.

    Meanwhile, David Warner wanted to tag his former franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad while posting on ‘X’ but was unable to do so as the franchise had blocked him.

    He shared a screenshot of the franchise’s profile, writing, “I wanted to retweet Sunriser’s post about Travis Head but I was unable to do so because Sunrisers blocked me.”

    Warner parted ways with IPL franchise over differences, and their relationship has since soured. Warner was the captain of the Hyderabad team in the 2021 season, however, he was left out of the playing XI and later removed from the captaincy.

    When the new season of IPL resumed after the COVID-19 pandemic, Sunrisers Hyderabad did not call him back to their team.

    The Australian opener was subsequently repurchased by Delhi Capitals for the 2022 edition, the team Warner started his IPL journey with in 2009.

    Here are the most expensive players of IPL 2024 auction

    The Indian Premier League 2024 auction was held in Dubai on December 19 on Tuesday. Australian cricket team’s left-arm fast bowler Mitchel Starc has become the most expensive player in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders bought Starc for 24.75 crore INR (more than 84 crore PKR).

    Sunrisers Hyderabad bought Starc’s teammate and Australia’s captain Pat Cummins for 20.50 crore INR (more than 69 crore PKR). Apart from this many foreign players were bought on huge prices by other IPL franchises.

    Pakistan’s Fatima Sana signed contract in New Zealand

    Pakistani women cricketer Fatima Sana has signed a contract in New Zealand. Fatima Sana will represent Canterbury Magicians in the Women’s Super-Smash T20 league. She has been signed for the first six matches.

    Fast bowler Fatima Sana was on a tour of New Zealand with the national team when she signed the contract.

    Fatima said: “Playing T20 League in New Zealand is a good opportunity for me, I will try to play a full role for my team”.

    Fatima Sana has also played Caribbean Premier League (CPL) before.

    Pakistan’s Trans Group and NODWIN Gaming, one of India’s top E-Sports media businesses, have formed a strategic agreement to address the gaps in Pakistan’s E-Sports infrastructure and opportunities. Trans Group wants to elevate the overall E-Sports landscape in Pakistan via the NODWIN Gaming alliance.

    On December 18, 2023, Akshat Rathee, co-founder and managing director of NODWIN Gaming, and Rao Usman Hashim, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Trans Group finalized a collaboration agreement. Trans Group hopes to use the cooperation to fully utilize Pakistan’s potential in the E-Sports industry.

    The United Arab Emirates (UAE) International T20 (ILT20) League has banned Afghanistan fast bowler Naveen ul Haq for 20 months.

    ILT20 league management says that Naveen had refused to play in the ILT20 league despite signing a contract with Sharjah Warriors.

    The second edition of the ILT Twenty League will be played in January next year, however, due to the ban, Afghan fast bowlers will not be able to participate in the 2024 and 2025 ILT20 League.

    Naveen ul Haq has signed a contract with Durban Super Giants of the South African T20 League, scheduled to be played alongside the ILT20 league.

    The International Cricket Council (ICC) has heavily fined the Pakistan cricket team for their slow over rate in the Perth Test against Australia.

    The fine amounts to 10 per cent of the match fee for slow over-rate in the Perth Test, while two points have also been deducted from Pakistan’s Test Championship, making the point rate tumble from 66.67 to 61.11.

    Pakistan captain Shan Masood accepted the charge of silver over-rate after which no traditional hearing was deemed necessary by the ICC. The team was fined per Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct.

    An alleged audio of Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee Zaka Ashraf with an unknown woman has been leaked on social media, causing a furore. In the clip, he can allegedly be heard talking to an unknown woman, explaining the reason for removing Babar Azam from the captaincy.

    The conversation revealed that, “Babar Azam had formed a group of eight players, he was asked to remain the captain of the Test team.”

    The woman says that we are fans, we can see that the captain is supporting his friends. People close to him, like Shadab, have no place in the team.

    In response to the woman, Zaka Ashraf allegedly says, “Pakistan cricket is deteriorating because of this.” Another unknown person also speaks up and says that Hasan Ali was also like that.

    Meanwhile, Zaka Ashraf is heard saying that Hasan is also Babar’s friend. In response to Ashraf, the same unknown woman says no no Abu, Hasan was included in the team because Naseem Shah was not there.

    The head of PCB then allegedly observes that a man named Talha is the player’s agent. “He has controlled eight players of the national team, he has signed a contract with the players, he is such a smart guy that he has built a lot of relationships with the players’ families by going to the players’ houses, and the players can’t move without him. Talha Osmani I think I don’t know what his name is.”

    “I had told Babar Azam that you should keep the Test captaincy, I am thinking of removing you from the white ball. He replied, well, I will discuss this at home and then I will tell you the decision. Babar Azam called Talha and consulted him, and Talha advised him to leave everything.”

    Ashraf then allegedly says that his “plan B” was ready. “When Babar left the captaincy, I said to the other man, ‘Chal bhai, ab tu captain hai.”

    The unknown woman asks who is the captain, wondering if it is Shan Masood.

    Zaka Ashraf in reply says no, Shaheen Afridi is the captain in white ball. “Good, but wasn’t Rizwan better in the white ball,” asks the woman.

    Zak Ashraf says that he liked Rizwan but he was also deeply involved with Babar and Talha.

    The unknown lady opines that Abu, but Shaheen is under the control of Shahid Afridi, his father-in-law.

    “He interferes a lot,” the other unknown person says. “Dekho beta itna to chalta hai naa.” In response, the lady says, may Allah make it all better for Pakistan.

    All-rounder Shadab Khan has been ruled out of Pakistan’s tour of New Zealand.

    According to details, Shadab Khan suffered a foot injury which will take four more weeks to heal.

    Shadab Khan was injured while playing against Sialkot at United Bank Limited (UBL) Sports Complex Karachi on December 3, spraining his leg while fielding in the match. A video surfaced online showing Khan being carried out of the ground while sitting on his teammate’s back.

    Pakistan will play five T20 matches in New Zealand in January 2024 while the first match will be played on January 12 in Auckland.

    Hafeez said, “Pakistan’s batting unit did not perform well. Shaheen Afridi and Babar Azam alone are not responsible for good performance, but the domestic players who were given a chance also performed well.”

    The Pakistan Cricket Team Director also said that the conditions in Perth were good thanks to Cricket Australia, providing equal opportunities for batsmen and bowlers.

    BMPS 2023: The winner of the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) 2023 has been announced. Along with the victory, Team Blind E-Sports took home a whopping 40 lac INR (Indian Rupees) in prize money. As the runners-up, Team Gladiators received a prize money of 20 lac INR.

    The three-day Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) 2023, which featured 16 finalist teams and took place at the EKA Arena in Ahmedabad, ended with an exciting battle. This event had a prize poll of 1 crore INR. As the event winners, Team Blind E-Sports took home a whopping 40 lac INR in prize money. Team Gladiator E-Sports finished second and took home 20 lakh. Third-place finisher Team Insane with 211 points won 10 lakh.

    The squad of Blind E-Sports was praised for its skill, planning, and togetherness after winning with a total of 244 points in the championship. On the day of the final, almost 15,000 people attended the LAN event hosted by Krafton.

    All About The Event: BMPS 2023

    One of Krafton’s largest E-Sports competitions, the BMPS got underway in November. A total of 96 teams competed in all, and 16 finalists were chosen based on their performance and ranking. 

    BMPS 2023 Final Standings:

    Blind E-Sports Winners- Award: 4000,000 Rupees

    Second place: Gladiator E-Sports – Award: 20 lacINR

    Second Runner-Up: Insane Team – Award: 10 lac INR

    Team Entity came in fourth place-Award: 5 lac INR.

    SPower (Blind E-Sports) is the BMPS MVP (Most Valuable Player)- Award: 300,000 INR.

    Best IGL (In-Game Leader): Aadi (Team Insane)-Award: 200,000 INR

    Prizes ranging from 300,000 INR to 100,000 INR were also given to the teams who placed fifth to sixteenth.
