    A few days before the start of World Cup 2023, vice-captain Shadab Khan’s phupho (paternal aunt) passed away.

    The Pakistani team is now in India to play the World Cup with the first warm-up match against New Zealand played on Friday, in which New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets.

    Pakistan will play their first World Cup match against the Netherlands on October 6, but before the start of the mega event, Shadab Khan’s phupo passed away.

    In a message on social media, Shadab Khan said “Just heard that Phuphu has passed away, and everyone is requested to pray for her forgiveness”.

    Pakistan’s men’s squash team has defeated India by 2-1 to qualify for the semi-final in the Asian Games. Nasir Iqbal and Noor Zaman won their matches for Pakistan in the match against India.

    The competition between Pakistan and India was sensational, especially during the first battle in which Pakistan’s Noor Zaman and India’s Abhay Singh came face to face. The duration of the contest was 51 minutes, with Noor Zaman winning. The winning scores were 8-11, 12-10, 8-11 and 8-11.

    In the second match, Asim Khan and Saruv Ghoshal faced each other, with the latter scoring three against the former.

    Earlier today, Pakistan also beat Singapore thrice. In the final group match, Pakistan will face Kuwait today.

    PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) announces central contract for players. Babar Azam, Rizwan, and Shaheen in A category while Imad Wasim gets the contract as well. Zaman Khan, Saim Ayub, Shahnawaz Dahani included in list of contracted players.

    The issue of the central contract of Pakistani men cricket team was settled by mutual agreement between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the national cricket team.

    The issue of the central contract of national cricketers was pending for a few months as cricketers had objections to many clauses of their contracts. However, all reservations of cricketers have now been addressed.

    National team chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq also played an important role in settling the matter.

    The cricketers’ central contracts expired on June 30, after which the contracts were extended by one month.

    Babar Azam will enter in World Cup as the No.1 batsman

    The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released players’ ranking, with Pakistan captain Babar Azam retaining the first position in the ODI batsmen’s ranking.

    According to the rankings, Babar Azam will enter the World Cup as the number one batsman, but the gap between India’s Shubman Gill and Babar Azam has narrowed further.

    According to the ranking, Babar Azam’s rating points remain at 857, while Shubman Gill’s rating points have increased from 814 to 847. In this ranking, Pakistan’s Imam ul Haq has moved from fourth to fifth place, while Fakhar Zaman is at the 10th spot.

    On the other hand, in the ICC ODI bowlers ranking, India’s Mohammad Siraj remains the first, Australia’s Josh Hazlewood is second in the ranking and Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan has moved from fifth to fourth.

    Nepal set the world record for the highest total runs in T20 cricket and scored 314 runs by losing 3 wickets while batting first against Mongolia.

    Apart from this, Kushal Malla of the Nepali team scored an unbeaten 137 runs off 34 balls, while Deepandra Singh scored an unbeaten 50 runs off 9 balls, Captain Rohit Paudal scored 61 runs off 27 balls.

    Earlier, Afghanistan was the highest run-scorer. Afghanistan scored 278 in a match against Ireland in February 2019.

    Deependra Singh broke the record of fastest fifty of India’s Yuvraj Singh. Yuvraj Singh scored 50 runs in 12 balls against England in the 2007 World Cup, but Deependra Singh scored 50 runs in just 9 balls.

    Fastest Century:

    Kaushal Malla scored the fastest century, surpassing India’s Rohit Sharma and South Africa’s David Miller. Kaushal Malla scored a 34-ball century while Rohit Sharma and David Miller scored 35-ball centuries.

    A record for the biggest margin of victory in T20:

    Nepal also set a record for the biggest margin of victory in a T20 International, with the Nepal cricket team defeating Mongolia by 273 runs.

    Discussing strike bowler Naseem Shah’s injury, Azam said, “He will be missed in the World Cup, we will miss him a lot, he used to bowl with Shaheen, and he gave us a different vibe.”

    The captain said that ‘Chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq, in consultation with coach Mickey Arthur, has selected Hasan Ali because he has experience.”I can’t say yet who will bowl with Shaheen. He has given the same message to the national team. We have done it before and still have to do it, our focus is not on one match but on all, from 2019 we are playing eight to nine players together.”

    The captain added that spinners are very good. “I agree they have not performed but it is not that they are not good, it is not easy to play in the Pakistan team, they are good then they are in the team.”

    Regarding the central contract, Babar Azam said that it is being discussed and will be done soon, PCB has always thought well of the players, this time it will be good too.

    Moreover Babar Azam denied rumors of a fight with Shaheen Afridi.

    “There is nothing like that, we love each other like family,” said the national team captain.
