But for a true football fan, a match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid quite simply represents a great football match between two great clubs.

Barcelona and Real Madrid enter the 2021-22 season with a point to prove after both the sides were to beaten to La Liga glory by Athletico Madrid last season. Athletico were crowned champions while Real Madrid finished second and Barcelona third. PAK vs SA warm-up match: 50 for Hassan

Pakistan lost the second warm-up match against South Africa on Monday after Hassan Ali could not defend 19 runs in the last over.

Pakistan had the upper hand, with South Africa needing 47 off the last three, but 18 and 22-run overs on either side of Shaheen Afridi’s 10-run 19th over proved costly.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan were put into bat and they made the most of the opportunity as they posted a sizeable total of 186 runs on the board after Fakhar hit five sixes and two fours on his way to 52 off 28 balls before retiring out as Pakistan managed to score 120 off their last 10 overs.

It looked like Pakistan were on a roll with the ball as well but then came a storm named Rassie van der Dussen, who single-handedly took the game away from them. In the end, South Africa ended up winning a thriller of a match on the final delivery by Hassan. Hassan’s expensive 52-4 spell was highly criticised by the fans.

VIDEO: Babar shows ultimate sportsman spirit by calling back Shimron Hetmyer

Pakistan Cricket Team’s captain, Babar Azam, showed the ultimate sportsman spirit as he called back West Indian batter, Shimron Hetmyer, to bat during the 2021 T20 World Cup warm-up match on Monday.

Hetmyer was adjudged out after he was caught by wicket-keeper, Mohammad Rizwan, off the bowling of right-arm pacer, Hasan Ali. While the decision looked correct, Hetmyer said that he did not touch the ball with his bat and complained that he was wrongfully given out.

Babar decided to go against the decision of the umpire and decided to bring the batter back to the crease as the batter could not take a review because it was not allowed in the warm-up matches.

    Take a look:

Pakistan brushed defending champions West Indies aside in their first warm-up game, crushing Kieron Pollard’s side by seven wickets with 27 balls to spare. In a comprehensive all-round bowling performance, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Imad Wasim, Haris Rauf and Hasan Ali found themselves amongst the wickets while keeping the run-scoring down, before a majestic half-century from Babar Azam, and an unbeaten 24-ball 46 from Fakhar Zaman put West Indies out of their misery.

West Indies had won the toss and opted to bat first, but found themselves tied down by a disciplined Pakistan bowling attack.

Pakistan will face South Africa in their next warm-up match on Wednesday. While the Shaheens will be playing their first match of T20 World Cup on Sunday against India.

‘Grudge match’: Ian Smith looks forward to Pakistan vs New Zealand T20 World Cup encounter

Former New Zealand cricketer Ian Smith believes that the encounter between Pakistan and New Zealand at the T20 World Cup will be a ‘grudge match’ and he is eagerly waiting for both teams to go head-to-head.

Last month, Pakistani fans were upset when New Zealand unilaterally decided to pull out of the series against Pakistan due to ‘security threats’.

“It’s a bit of a grudge match now on the basis that New Zealand pulled out of the tour over there just recently and came home, which didn’t please Pakistan at all,” said Smith, who is also a renowned commentator, according to Stuff.

“We were right in doing what we did but it doesn’t ease the pain for them so there will be feeling in that game. It’s the first game that we play and I think there will be a real edge to that one so I’m looking forward to it,” he further added.

The cancelation of New Zealand’s tour had much deeper implications as PCB was tirelessly repairing Pakistan’s image on the international stage ever since the 2009 terrorist attack on Sri Lanka’s team.

“This conspiracy has been hatched to tarnish the image of Pakistan, as its image was going to build up due to the role it is playing for peace in the region,” said Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed.

Meanwhile, Pakistan will face India first at Dubai Inetrnational Stadium on October 24. The green shirts will be encountering the black caps on October 26.
