Umar Akmal’s shirtless photos get trolled by social media

Pakistan’s former middle order batsman Umar Akmal has taken to Twitter to inform the world about his fitness. And he’s done so in a rather weird way.

The middle-order batsman took to X (formerly Twitter) o announce: “Attention please! This is for those who think I am not fit.” Accompanying the post were shirtless pictures. The purpose of the bold move is to remind the management of the Pakistan Cricket Team that he is ready to step up if needed.

The timing of Umar Akmal’s post is no coincidence. The team’s struggle in Pakistan’s 2024 T20 World Cup campaign and the weakness of their middle order are obvious to everyone.

The tweet went viral as fans took to trolling him. Here are some reactions to Umar Akmal’s pictures:

Here is Pakistan’s probable playing XI against Canada

Pakistan is gearing up for a crucial match against Canada on June 11 at the Nassau County International Stadium in New York. After the disappointing loss to India, the situation is dire for Pakistan, who are currently at the bottom of the points table with two defeats in two matches in Group A.

Pakistan is expected to go with four fast bowlers on the challenging New York pitch. Although Imad Wasim returned from injury against India, he struggled with runs while batting. In case of Imad Wasim’s unavailability, Pakistan can opt for Abrar Ahmed as their only specialist spinner.

The match, which is scheduled for 7:30 PM (Pakistan time), promises to be a thrilling contest between bat and ball as both teams look for a crucial win in their T20 World Cup campaign.

    Pakistan’s Probable Playing XI:

Saim Ayub, Muhammad Rizwan (wicket keeper), Babar Azam (captain), Usman Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim or Abrar Ahmed, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Amir, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah

Big names likely to be dropped for the match against Canada

The Pakistan cricket team will play their third group match in the International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 World Cup against Canada in New York today.

The team management has not yet taken any decision regarding the final eleven players of the Pakistan team, however, there is a possibility that the all-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed who has consistently performed poorly, may be out of the team.

33-year-old batsman has scored 998 runs at an average of 24.34 while remaining not out 14 times in 55 innings of 66 T20 matches.

In the first match of the World Cup, Iftikhar scored 18 runs against America and only 5 runs against India in New York, after which it is likely that Saim Ayub will replace him in the eleven-member team against Canada. However, this will be decided by the team management upon reaching the ground.

Shahid Afridi blames Babar Azam for Pakistan’s failed World Cup campaign

Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi blamed skipper Babar Azam for the Pakistan’s failed World Cup campaign.

“The captain unites everyone, whether someone is destroying or building the team. After this World Cup is over, I will tell you everything. I have a relationship with Shaheen Afridi; if I say something, people will say that I am supporting my son-in-law,” Boom Boom said during a talk show on SAMA.

Former fast bowler Wasim Akram also expressed similar views, saying, “Some players in the team do not even talk to each other. This is international cricket, in which you play for your country. Such players should be left at home.”

Akram emphasized the need for complete change in the team, saying, “They have been playing cricket for ten years; I can’t teach them. Rizwan has no idea of the game. He should have known that Bumrah would try to get the wicket. The wisdom required was to handle him, but Rizwan hit the big shot. Wicket lost in the cycle.”

On the other hand, Pakistan cricket fans are demanding urgent action on the national team ahead of Champions Trophy 2025 so they can enjoy better cricket in the upcoming event.

Start boycotting products that feature these cricketers: Mansoor Ali Khan

After the defeat against India in T20 World Cup, journalist Mansoor Ali Khan demanded the public to boycott products promoted by Pakistani cricketers. India defeated Pakistan by six runs in the biggest match of the International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 World Cup on Sunday.

The journalist said on his YouTube channel, “The public wants to know which Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials have gone on this trip and how much they are spending. It has become too extravagant, it cannot go on like this, sometimes you are selling pants, sometimes you are selling shoes, sometimes you are selling ice cream, sometimes you are selling hair colour.”

He expressed his displeasure saying, “You get money because you advertise because this nation sits you on shoulders. The nation loves you because it loves the game, and when you play the game like that, it means you don’t love the game and you don’t love the nation. Then you have no right to work in such commercials, and if our team’s performance is going to be like this, I will ask the nation to start boycotting the products”

After the embarrassing defeat against India, Pakistan fans are very disappointed and are calling for a complete revamp of the cricket team, not just the coaches.

  • Can Pakistan still qualify for Super-8 stage of T20 World Cup?

Can Pakistan still qualify for Super-8 stage of T20 World Cup?

Despite the setbacks of two embarrassing defeats against the USA and India in the first round of the International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 World Cup 2024, Pakistan still has a fighting chance to make it to the super-eight stage.

    Here are some possible scenarios:

Scenario 1: Pakistan have to win thier remaining two matches against Ireland and Canada, giving it 4 points.

Scenario 2: The USA has already won two matches, so it should lose to India and Ireland as it already has 4 points.

Scenario 3: Canada should lose to India and they will have 2 points.

If this scenario works out, Pakistan and USA will each have 4 points, and their qualification for the Super-8 stage will be decided on Net Run Rate (NRR).

Haaray huye lashkar ka jeeta hua sipahi; Social media reacts to Naseem Shah’s tears

Fast bowler Naseem Shah got teary-eyed on Sunday after Pakistan’s shocking loss to India in the International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 World Cup.

For the first time in the T20 World Cup, the Pakistani team was able to all out the Indian batsmen, but despite the excellent performance of the bowlers, the team could not win the match, scoring 113 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs. India won by six runs. Naseem Shah was on the wicket for the last ball, scoring 10 runs off four balls while he also took three wickets for 21 runs in four overs.

The depressed bowler was comforted not only by fellow cricketer Shaheen Afridi, but Indian cricketers too, who kept patting his shoulder while shaking hands with him.

Many social media users also praised Naseem Shah’s performance, some even said that he is the full Pakistani team for them.

Most were furious that the hardworking Naseem bears the brunt for the team’s failures.

  • Pakistan team needs major surgery, Chairman PCB after India defeat

Pakistan team needs major surgery, Chairman PCB after India defeat

Chairman of Pakistan Cricket (PCB) Board Mohsin Naqvi has said that the national team needs not a small but a big surgery, adding that it is time to give opportunities to the talent sitting on the sidelines.

Expressing disappointment over the defeat of the national team against India, a match Pakistan could have won, Naqvi told journalists, “Today’s defeat was disappointing in all respects, Pakistani cricket is at its lowest level at this time. It seemed that the cricket team would be fine with a minor surgery, but after today’s very poor performance, it is certain that a major surgery is needed.”

Promising a “big change” soon, Naqvi went on to point out, “Our biggest challenge is to improve the performance of the team. We have to prepare a team for the Champions Trophy and it is time to sit outside and give a chance to new talent. The nation does not expect such a disappointing performance from the cricket team.”

The carelessness and irresponsibility of batsmen in the T20 World Cup made Pakistan lose a match they had almost won.

Pakistani batsmen could not achieve the easy target of 120 runs against India. Fakhar Zaman, Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim tried to hit long when they had to score singles and scored singles when they had to score big.

India won the match by six runs and made Pakistan’s access to the Super Eight almost impossible.
