    Chelsea appoints Enzo Maresca as new manager

    British football club Chelsea has appointed Leicester’s Enzo Maresca as its new head coach.

    According to British media, Chelsea has agreed to a five-year contract with Renzo. Italy’s Enzo Maresca will replace Mauricio Pochettino at Stamford Bridge. Enzo Maresca was Pep Guardiola’s assistant at English Premier League (EPL) champions Manchester City until last year. He made an immediate return to the Premier League for Leicester after relegation 12 months ago.

    Renzo Maresca’s work style has also impressed Chelsea chiefs, which has led to his signing. Chelsea Football Club has been looking for a new manager after parting ways with Mauricio Pochettino.     On Thursday, the Nepal Cricket Board said, “The US embassy again refused to grant them a visa, after which the possibility of participation in the event is extremely reduced or eliminated.”

    On the other hand, Nepali fans protested against the American authorities for not issuing the visa to the cricketer.

    Leg-spinner Usama Mir has sent a direct message to Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi upon not getting a place in the T20 World Cup squad, Geo has reported.

    Selectors and senior team managers are unhappy with Usama Mir, deciding not to issue the No Objections Certificate (NOC) for leagues, even after PCB promised to do so.

    Mir was not selected in the Pakistan sent a message to the Chairman PCB emphasizing that he took the most wickets in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), but he has not been selected in World Cup Squad, and has not been given NOC for T20 blast.

    When the selectors and senior manager Wahab Riaz were informed about Usama Mir’s action, a video conference was held in Ireland in which all the selectors and Usama Mir participated.

    The spinner sought permission from the selectors and Wahab Riaz to play the league in England, where he was assured that he would be given NOC for the league.

    However, now Usama Mir has gone to England, but the NOC has not been given to him yet.

    According to PCB, the bowler has not been given the NOC due to two league limit. Usama Mir has played two leagues in the cycle from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024.

Babar also becomes first captain to score 2,500 runs in T20 format.

    Indian captain Rohit Sharma is in second place, scoring 3,974 runs in T20 international.

    While talking to the media in London, he said, “If the team loses a match, there is an autopsy. I request the nation not to criticize the team until the World Cup. Give the team one month and the national team will win.”

    Chairman PCB hoped that the team will be in the final after 4 weeks, till then he asked fans to support the team.

    The T20 World Cup is scheduled to be played from June 1 to June 29 in USA and West Indies.

    During the T20 World Cup, four matches played by India and two matches of played by Pakistan are scheduled in New York. New York has to host 8 matches from June 3 to 12.

    Usama had participated in The Hundred and the Big Bash League last year. PCB allows two leagues to contracted players to play in, apart from the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

    Usama Mir was supposed to represent Worcestershire Rapids in T20 Blast, but now the team has canceled his contract after not getting NOC.

    T20 Blast franchise Worcestershire has selected West Indies’ Hayden Walsh to replace Usama Mir.
