    Napkin with Messi’s first contract sold at auction for 26 crore 70 lakh

    A napkin inscribed with the first contract of Argentina’s famous footballer Lionel Messi has been auctioned for a whopping $965,000 (approximate 26 crore and 70 lakh rupees), with bidding starting at $326,835 approximate 9 crore and 5 lakh).

    Messi signed his first contract with Barcelona on December 14, 2000 when he was just 13 years old.

    The napkin, inscribed in blue ink, is also signed by then-Barcelona director Carles Rexach, the club’s transfer adviser Josef Manguela and Messi’s first agent Oracho Guijoli.

    The napkin was put up for online auction by London-based auction house Bonmus. Messi made his first team debut at the age of 16 and scored a record 672 goals in 778 games for the Barcelona club.

    Proud agent Guijoli said in an interview, “when I was invited by Barcelona director Carles Rexach to sign the contract, due to lack of time, instead of signing a contract formally, we hurriedly wrote the contract on a napkin signed by all parties.”

    Messi holds the record of scoring most goals ever in La Liga (474), the UEFA Super Cup (3) and Supercopa de España (14). He also holds the record for the most assists in football history (372).

    Pakistan team management has decided to enter the field with full strength and use its World Cup combination in the upcoming series against England.

    Haris Rauf and Usman Khan are strong candidates for inclusion in the T20 World Cup squad in place of Hassan Ali and Saim Ayub respectively.

    Fast bowler Naseem Shah will also make a place in the playing eleven, while the option of adding a spinner is also being considered.

    The final decision will be taken in consultation with Gary Kirsten, who is scheduled to join the squad tomorrow. The first T20 between Pakistan and England will be played in Leeds on May 22.

    Haris Rauf and Usman Khan did not get a chance in the series against Ireland.

    Star bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has surprised fans by revealing that his father was bombed two or three times.

    Talking on the PCB podcast, Shaheen revealed, “My father was in the police and gave 25 years to the department. He was bombed two, three times and in one attack he was seriously injured and it was a very difficult time for our family, our house was also targeted.”

    The speedster also talked about his childhood and relationship with his brothers said, “I was fond of cricket since childhood. There were matches with other schools. My brother was fond of studies so he would sit in exams in my place while I played cricket.”

    He recalled that he was the youngest in the house, so he got used to getting scolded by his elder brothers. “My second-ranked brothers used to scold and could not even say anything in front of the elders, so they used to listen to the scolding silently. My father supported him. I also had the advantage of being younger because whenever my elder brothers scolded me, my parents supported me and stopped them from scolding me.”

    Shaheen is the part of national cricket team squad for the England series starting from May 22 and T20 World Cup which is scheduled in America and West Indies from June 1 to June 29.

    Pakistani mountaineer Shehroze Kashif has shared a two-year old video of a conversation he had with star Indian cricketer Virat Kohli in a pleasant mood in which Kohli expressed his hope to visit Pakistan.

    Shehroze shared the video of the 2022 conversation on his Instagram account last night. During the conversation with Shehroze, Virat said, “Now that teams have started coming, hopefully we will also come soon.”

    The mountaineer wrote in the caption of his post that he had a video call conversation with Virat Kohli in 2022. He met an Indian citizen in Nepal who said he was a fan.

    Shehroze wote, “After listening about the Indian cricket team, he expressed my desire to talk to Kohli, on which the Indian person sent my news link to Kohli and requested to talk.”

    He said, “I enjoyed talking to Kohli, the Indian national who talked to me was the physical trainer of the Indian team.”

    According to Shehroze Kashif, he thinks that there is no bigger fan of Kohli in Pakistan.

    Shehroze is a Pakistani mountaineer who claimed the record of youngest climber in the world to summit the second-highest peak in the world, K2.

    India’s tantrums over English players leaving the IPL to play in their home series against Pakistan continue.

    Former fast bowler Irfan Pathan is the latest prominent figure to use harsh language against the English cricketers who left the IPL unfinished.

    Pathan wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Either be available for the entire season or don’t come.”

    Earlier, former Test cricketer Sunil Gavaskar also showed anger on the cricketers who left the IPL. He criticized the English cricketers and demanded a cut in their salaries and asked that fines should be imposed. In his column, Sunil Gavaskar wrote that because of IPL, they get 10 percent commission which no other league pays, if they are leaving IPL for the series, then the boards and players should be fined.

    England’s top cricketers Jonny Bairstow, Sam Curran, Liam Livingstone, Will Jacks, Reece Topley, Jos Buttler, Phil Salt and Moeen Ali, who participated in the IPL, left the league to represent their country against Pakistan.

    The executive meeting of the Baseball Federation of Asia was held in China’s Taipei during which Pakistan was confirmed to host the event.

    On this occasion, Secretary Pakistan Baseball Federation Fakhar Ali Shah said, “The event is planned to be held in October, the venue and dates for the event will be announced soon.”

    Teams from India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia and Iraq will participate in the event.

    Apart from this, the teams of Palestine and Bangladesh will also participate in the event.
