    Babar Azam equals Kohli’s record in T20 format

    Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam has equaled Indian star batsman Virat Kohli’s record of most fifties scored in T20 format.

    Azam achieved the milestone in the first T20 match against Ireland on Friday.

    Virat Kohli has scored 38 fifties in 109 T20 matches while Babar Azam scored his 38th fifty in the 108th match of his T20 career. Kohli converted only one of his 38 fifties into a century while Babar Azam has converted his fifties into centuries thrice.

    Azam also broke the record of Australia’s Arron Finch of captaining most matches in T20 format.

    Ireland defeated Pakistan by five wicket after a thrilling last over.

    Tennis star Novak Djokovic was hit on the head with a water bottle on Friday at Italian Open.

    Djokovic was signing autographs after a match when he was hit on the back of the head by a hard plastic bottle, causing the tennis star to leave the ground immediately and receive medical attention.

    Videos are being used to determine whether the bottle was accidentally dropped or thrown at the tennis player on purpose.

    Organizers say that he is now back at his hotel and his condition is not a matter of concern.

    The National Basketball Association (NBA) has suspended free agent Patrick Beverley for four matches for throwing a ball at fans in the stands after loosing a game.

    The ball seemed to hit a fan on the face. When it was thrown back to Beverley, he threw it into the crowd again. Later, Beverley accepted his fault.

    He said, “Unfortunate situation that should’ve never happened. What I did was bad, and that should have never happened. I have to be better, and I will be better. That should have never happened, regardless of what was said, simple as that.”

    Indiana Pacers defeated Beverley’s Milwaukee Bucks in the sixth match of playoffs series last week.

    Ticket price for the eagerly awaited Pakistan and India match in T20 World Cup 2024 has been revealed.

    According to foreign media reports, the previous tickets of the stadium with a capacity of 34,000 fans will be charged at six dollars but the most expensive ticket is 400 dollars, which is more than 100,000 rupees in Pakistan. On the other hand, there are three types of tickets between Pakistan and India.

    The price of Standard tickets is 175 US dollars which is more than 48 thousand Pakistani rupees while the price of Standard Plus is 300 dollars which is more than 83,000 Pakistani rupees.

    On the other hand, the premium price is 400 dollars, which is more than one lakh Pakistani rupees.

    Room fares of local hotels has increased. The local hotels charge 10,000 rupees to one lakh per night.

    Yesterday, Sunrisers defeated the Supergiants team by 10 wickets in an important match, giving a blow to the chances of qualifying to the play-off stage.

    At the end of the match, Lucknow Supergiants owner Sanjeev Goenka lashed out at the team captain KL Rahul. A video of the altercation is going viral on social media.

    In the video, it can be seen that Sanjeev Goenka is scolding captain KL Rahul for the worst defeat while the captain is listening to his words with courage.

    Supergiants managed to score 165 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the allotted 20 overs, while Sunrisers Hyderabad achieved the target without any loss in just 9.4 overs.

    According to media reports, the offer of 2024 central contracts was delayed due to International Cricket Council (ICC) funding being cleared in March, which has left Ireland players playing under last year’s central contracts.

    Cricket Ireland offered new central contracts but the cricketers rejected it.

    The cricketers want a pay rise and other benefits and the Irish Cricketers’ Association is negotiating with Cricket Ireland on behalf of the players.

    Cricket Ireland has been stalled by cost overruns and funding delays, but if negotiations are successful, the players will receive new central contracts by March 1.

    The Ireland team is to play the first T20 match against Pakistan tomorrow and the Ireland team will visit the Netherlands after the series against Pakistan.
