    Ihsanullah’s injury misdiagnosed which led to failed surgery: Ali Tareen

    Ali Tareen, owner of Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Multan Sultans, has said that their star fast bowler Ihsanullah’s elbow injury was misdiagnosed, which led to a botched surgery.

    He said that Multan Sultans retained Ihsanullah in PSL 9 despite the elbow injury with the aim of working with Multan Sultans physio, strength conditioning coach.

    He said that Ihsanullah is being sent to England this month, where a specialist surgeon will examine him, adding that PCB has given them permission for Ihsanullah’s treatment in England.

    Ihsanullah was a key-performing bowler from Multan Sultans in the previous season of Pakistan Super League.

    Cricket Champions League likely to begin again after 10 years

    Discussions have started between England, Australia and Indian cricket boards to revive Cricket Champions League after 10 years.

    According to details, CEO Cricket Victoria Nick Cummins has said that they are trying to find a window in which the Champions League can be held.

    “No other competition has Indian players . The IPL doesn’t have Pakistan players. So there is no competition in the world with the best players. The Champions League would be a way for the best to be playing against each other,” Cummins remarked.

    The last season of the Cricket Champions League was played in 2014, which was won by Indian T20 League franchise Chennai Super Kings.

    Six editions of the Champions League T20 were played between 2009 and 2014.

    Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi warns national cricket team against grouping

    Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has warned Pakistan players to avoid grouping in the cricket team.

    Mohsin Naqvi met with national cricketers engaged in the fitness camp at Kakul Academy on Tuesday, taking time out to talk to them individually and collectively.

    During the meeting he reportedly explained to the players that there should be no grouping in the team and cricketers should focus only on the game. He categorically said that everyone has to play as one unit and whoever performs will be part of the team.

    Regarding Babar Azam being entrusted with the leadership of T20 and ODI, he said that he took the decision on the advice of the selection committee.

    PCB has organized a fitness training camp for the national cricketers in preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup and other series in collaboration with Pakistan Army at Kakul Academy in which 29 cricketers are participating right now.

    Pakistan will play a five-match T20 home series against New Zealand from April 18 this month, after which they will play a short series against England and Ireland and from there they will travel to America and the West Indies for the T20 World Cup.

    Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir will host an iftar party for the Pakistan cricket team in Rawalpindi on April 7. The national team is currently participating in a fitness camp in Kakul, Abbottabad.

    According to sources, the fitness camp, which was supposed to end on April 8, may wrap up a day earlier. Players will travel from Abbottabad to Rawalpindi on April 7 for iftar after which they will go back to their homes before Eid-ul-Fitr.

    New Zealand is coming for a five-match T20 series in Pakistan on April 14. Both the teams will play three T20 matches at Pindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi on April 18, 20 and 21. The teams will then travel to Lahore where they will play the remaining two T20Is of the series on April 25 and 27 respectively.

    All five matches of the T20 series will start at 7:00 PM (PST).

    New Zealand has announced their squad while Pakistan’s squad is going to be announced in a couple of days.

    Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to revamp several departments, a process that will likely involve appointments and transfers.

    According to Geo news sources, many officials will also be relieved after restructuring of the departments. Director Coordination Sajid Hameed is being removed from the post and will be replaced by a new appointment.

    Sources say that Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is not happy with recent mismanagement in the board and he has conveyed the message of zero tolerance on mismanagement to everyone.

    England all-rounder Ben Stokes will miss this year’s Twenty20 World Cup as he is unavailable for selection.

    The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has said in a statement that Stokes wants to focus on regaining his fitness ahead of this summer’s Test matches. Stokes wants to be fully fit to bowl for the upcoming Test series against West Indies and Sri Lanka.

    In a statement, Stokes said, “I am working hard and focusing on building up my bowling fitness to play a full role as an all-rounder in all formats of cricket. Opting out of the IPL and the World Cup will hopefully be a sacrifice that will allow me to become the all-rounder that I want to be in the near future.”

    Stokes added, “The recent Test tour of India highlighted how far behind I was from a bowling perspective after my knee surgery and not bowling for 9 months.”

    England are the current T20 World Cup champions, winning their second title in Australia in 2022.

    Talking about Muhammad Amir and Imad, he said, “The decision of Muhammad Amir and Imad Wasim to retire first was wrong, both of them have cricket left in them. Both are talented, they will have to be a part of domestic cricket as well.”

    Rohit Sharma’s dismissal in a match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians on March 27 took the life of a person.

    According to foreign media, the incident happened while a match was being played in Kolhapur in the ongoing IPL in India when a spectator expressed happiness on the dismissal. Sharma’s fans became angry at his joy, beating him with sticks. He later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. According to the report, the victim has been identified as Bandu Pant.

    The police arrested two men, Balwant Jhange and his nephew Sagar Jhange on suspicion of attacking Pant with a wooden plank and a stick.

    Police have produced the suspects in court and taken them on remand while an investigation is going on.
