    England White Ball cricket captain Jos Buttler has changed his name and the England Cricket Board (ECB) has made this announcement on Instagram in a very unique way.

    He has changed his name from “Jos Buttler” to “Josh Buttler”.

    Talking about reason behind changing his name, he said, “I have been called with wrong names all my life. My mother is also among those who called me by wrong names.”

    “After representing the country for 13 years and winning two World Cups, I have found a solution to the problem. Now I’m Josh Butler.”

    Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed Babar Azam the captain of Pakistan ODI and T20 Cricket Team once again.

    In a statement issued by PCB said that the selection committee of Pakistan Cricket Board also reached Kakul last night and took Shaheen Shah Afridi into confidence on the board’s decision and also informed him about the future plan of the cricket board.

    According to the sources, the selection committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board also removed the reservations Shaheen Afridi had regarding Babar Azam Azam and then after the unanimous opinion of the committee, proposed to make Babar Azam the captain again.

    On the other hand, such news is also circulating on social media that Babar Azam has expressed his desire to captain all three formats, however, PCB sources say that Babar Azam has not imposed any such conditions.

    Babar Azam has represented Pakistan in 52 Tests, 117 ODIs and 109 T20Is.

    Babar Azam has led the Pakistani team in 71 T20 matches including the T20 World Cup. Under the captaincy of Babar Azam, Pakistan won 42 matches and the Green Shirts faced defeat in 23.

    Pakistan cricket team’s star batsman Babar Azam has demanded the captaincy of all three formats from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

    According to a Cricinfo report, PCB has offered Babar Azam the leadership in white ball cricket but he has not accepted the position till now, demanding the captaincy of all three formats.

    The report states that Shaheen Afridi, who recently became the T20 captain, will be removed from the leadership of the team.

    After the conclusion of the ICC World Cup 2023, Babar was removed from the captaincy of all formats. Shaheen was appointed the captain in T20 and Shan Masood as Test captain while the captain for ODIs has not been announced yet.

    According to Geo News, discussions on appointment of foreign coaches have entered the final stage, with former South African cricketer Gary Kirsten and former Australian fast bowler Jason Gillespie close to being finalized.

    Sources say that Kirsten may get the coaching of white ball and Gillespie of red ball cricket.

    Jason Gillespie could take over during Gary Kirsten’s engagements. Discussions are ongoing with foreign coaches regarding other support staff.

    Babar Azam met Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi last night after the selection committee recommended his name for the captaincy.

    According to sources, preparations for the World Cup and the previous series were discussed in the meeting.

    Mohsin Naqvi had tasked the National Selection Committee for suggestions and recommendations regarding the captaincy.

    In November last year, former Chairman Management Committee Zaka Ashraf removed Babar Azam from the captaincy, after which Shaheen Afridi was appointed as the captain of T20 and Shan Masood as the captain of Test format.

    Ireland has announced the schedule of a three-match T20 series against Pakistan, hosting the Asian nation in May this year.

    Before the tour of Ireland, a series of five T20 matches will be played between the two countries in Pakistan. The matches will be played in Rawalpindi on April 18, 20 and 21, and in Lahore on April 25 and 27.
