    Jason Gillespie resigns from coaching Western Australia and Adelaide Strikers to coach Pakistan

    Former Australian fast bowler Jason Gillespie has resigned from coaching Western Australia and Adelaide Strikers to take up the responsibility of Pakistan cricket team’s head coach.

    According to Australian media, Jason Gillespie had one year remaining on his contract with Western Australia where he was working as the head coach of Western Australia and Adelaide Strikers.

    Gillespie is a strong candidate to coach the Pakistan team.

    Speaking on the occasion, he said, “I am proud of what I have achieved with the Australian Cricket Association, I am eager to explore new opportunities and excited to embark on a new chapter in my career.”

    The Adelaide Strikers reached the final six times under Jason Gillespie’s coaching.

    Pakistan’s former cricket team captain Shahid Afridi wants Shaheen Afridi to remain the T20 team captain.

    After speculation took hold that Babar Azam will once again become captain, Afridi spoke in favor of his son-in-law and captain of the national Twenty20 team, Shaheen Afridi.

    While talking to media at a football event in Karachi’s area Ibrahim Haidari, Shahid Afridi said, “In Pakistan, when the faces change, the system also changes. The newcomer thinks that the one who did the work before has done wrong.”

    He said, “The one who is given the captaincy should be given time, the decision was either wrong or what will happen now will be wrong.”

    Talking about Kakul trainig camp, he said, “The experience of the training camp in Kakul has also been good, there training makes a difference in fitness. Those who are not selected for the series against New Zealand should get more training in Kakul.”

    In responce to a question about the selection committee, Shahid Afridi said, “The decision to empower the selection committee is good.”
    Talking about the retirement of Imad Wasim and Muhammad Amir, he said, “The decision of Muhammad Amir and Imad Wasim to retire earlier was wrong, both of them still have cricket left in them. Both are talented, they will have to be a part of domestic cricket as well.”

    In November last year, the former chairman of the management committee, Zaka Ashraf, removed Babar Azam from the captaincy, after which Shaheen Afridi was appointed as the captain of the national T20 and Shan Masood as the captain of the Test team.

    According to Geo News’ sources, Mohsin Naqvi entrusted the responsibility regarding the selection of team captain to the selection committee and the committee has sent Babar’s name as the man for the job. Mohsin Naqvi will take the final decision after completing consultations.

    Meanwhile, the fitness camp of the national team is going on vigorously in Kakul, in which 28 players are participating. However, Babar Azam wanted to rest for a day after returning from Umrah, which is why he did not join the camp yesterday.

    Based on the results of the fitness camp, PCB will select the squad for the series against New Zealand.

    The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has denied the claims of Federation of International Cricketers Associations (FICA) about delay in Pakistan Super League (PSL) payments.

    The FICA report on payments in league cricket alleged irregularities in the leagues over the past 24 months. Report said that several leagues, including the PSL and IPL, have received complaints on the issue of payments.

    After the FICA report, PCB contacted the cricketers’ association and rejected the allegations.

    Director International PCB Usman Wahla says that the FICA report has misrepresented the PSL, FICA has been informed in writing about its reservations on the report.

    Usman said that there was no case of payment delay in all the 9 editions of PSL.

    Former Pakistani captain Shahid Afridi has slammed the attempted boycott of his charity organisations and brands as the war of words between PTI supporters and the cricketer heat up.

    Afridi took a defensive position and not only came clean about himself but also called PTI founder Imran Khan his hero. However the attacks and criticism continued.

    One such user wrote in a post on X that all brands of Shahid Afridi should be boycotted.

    Reacting to this, Shahid Afridi said, “Whatever share I have in these brands is spent on girls’ education, clean water wells in different areas, hospitals, welfare of the elderly and distribution of ration to the deserving. I have not taken even a single rupee till date from all these projects but I have provided all resources to run them. The political ignorance and false propaganda of you and people like you cannot stop me from giving the rightful people their right. My mission will continue through my foundation.”

    The clash begun when YouTuber Imran Riaz Khan heavily criticised Shahid Afridi to which the all-rounder replied by calling him a “troll”.

    Usman Khan sends notice to Emirates Cricket Board to terminate his contract

    Multan Sultans star batsman Usman Khan has sent a notice to Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) to terminate his contract.

    Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has included Usman Khan in a list of players participating in a fitness camp in Kakul. He performed exceptionally well for Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League (PSL 9), scoring two centuries and a total of 430 runs. This performance caught the attention of the selectors.

    Usman has sent a notice to the Emirates Cricket Board to terminate his central contract after legal consultation with the PCB, expressing his desire to establish his future in Pakistan cricket.

    Usman Khan made his debut for Karachi Whites in 2017. In four innings of his two first-class matches, he scored 0, 8, 9 and 22 runs respectively. He then moved to the United Arab Emirates for better opportunities.

    He was selected for the UAE team until June the following year and was also given a central contract by the Emirates Cricket Board. Last year he represented Gulf Giants in the ILT20 league as a local player. Usman participated in the PSL as a foreign player and arrived in Pakistan after obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the ECB.

    He was scheduled to return to Dubai after the final but did not go. Meanwhile Usman was in constant touch with PCB. An influential figure of Multan Sultans played an important role in finalizing their affairs. Usman has now sent a notice to the ECB to terminate the contract. Violation of the agreement could result in bans from his participation in future tournaments in the UAE.

    He has received an assurance from someone in PCB that he will not only be a part of the series against New Zealand but will also be included in the World Cup squad.

    In the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) World Cup Qualifier 2, Jordan beat Pakistan 7-0 at the International Stadium Oman yesterday.

    Players of the host team attacked the Pakistani goal right at the beginning, as a result of which they got the first success in the fifteenth minute thanks to a goal by Musa Al-Tmari.

    Jordan’s second goal was scored by Yazan-ul-Naimat on a penalty kick in the 28th minute. After losing, the Pakistani team also attacked the opponent’s goal, but they did not succeed.

    The score was 0-2 at the break, in the 7th minute of the second half, Saeed Al-Rossan scored the third goal for Jordan, 10 minutes later, taking advantage of another opportunity, the Jordanian team managed to score the fourth goal, this goal was scored by Musa Al-Tmari which was also his second goal.

    The fifth goal was scored by Ali Alwan in the 75th minute, while Musa Al-Tmari make Jordan’s lead 0-6 in 79th minute and also complete his hat-trick.

    Abu Muhammad scored the seventh and last goal for the host team in the 83rd minute and thus Pakistan lost 0-7.

    This is the biggest Pakistani defeat in football since the last 16 years. Pakistan have lost all four of their matches in Qualifier 2 so far.

    According to sources, Babar Azam is likely to become captain once again. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials are reportedly in contact with Babar Azam.

    Sources say that Azam has reached Lahore on Tuesday night after performing Umrah and now the possibility of the batting maestro meeting with board officials is high before he leaves for Abbottabad.

    Sources close to the batter say confirm reports but Babar Azam has not yet made up his mind to accept the offer of captaincy.

    After PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi’s comments on the appointment of a captain in a press conference, rumors have multiplied. Naqvi has entrusted the decision of captaincy to the selection committee.

    In November last year, former Chairman Management Committee Zaka Ashraf removed Babar Azam from the captaincy, after which Shaheen Afridi was appointed as the captain of T20 and Shan Masood as the captain of Test format.

    Cricket Australia has released the schedule of Pakistan tour. The series of three ODIs and three T20 matches between Pakistan and Australia will start from November 4.

    All the ODI matches of the series will be played in day and night, while three T20 matches between Pakistan and Australia will be played at night.

    The first ODI between the two teams will be played in Melbourne on November 4, the second ODI in Adelaide on November 8 and the third in Perth on November 10.

    The T20 series between Pakistan and Australia will start from November 14 in Brisbane, the second T20 between the two teams will be played in Sydney on November 16 and the last one in Hobart on November 18.

    Indian cricketer Nikhil Chaudhry has been accused of rape in Australia and a case has been filed against him. He is accused of raping a woman in his car after meeting her in a nightclub in Townsville.

    According to the details, at the trial that started yesterday, 27-year-old Nikhil denied the charge of rape.
