    Mohsin Naqvi’s appointment as PCB chairman challenged in Islamabad High Court

    The appointment of Mohsin Naqvi as the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been challenged in the Islamabad High Court (IHC), which has made the plea admissible.

    The court issued secretarial notices to Mohsin Naqvi and the Prime Minister. After hearing the preliminary arguments, the court reserved its decision on the admissibility of the petition.

    Earlier, Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Amir Farooq had reserved the decision on the petition being admissible. The Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court had asked the petitioner’s lawyer why he thought the appointment was wrong?

    The petitioner’s lawyer had said that according to the constitution there is a difference between the elected and the caretaker prime minister, the former cannot appoint chairman PCB as that role rests with the prime minister.

    Justice Amir Farooq got angry when the petitioner’s lawyer spoke while writing the order, asking him to wait.

    Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi was elected as the new chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on February 7. Naqvi has been elected as the 37th chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board unopposed.

    In this regard, a special meeting of the PCB Governing Board was held on Tuesday, February 6 at the National Cricket Academy, a special meeting of the PCB Governing Board was called by Election Commissioner Shah Khawar.

On the total of 18 runs Peshawar half team returned to the pavilion, but Aamir Jamal and Paul Walter make a partnership of 107 runs but could not led their team to victory. Walter scored 33 runs on 29 balls while Aamir Jamal scored brilliant 87 of 49 balls.

    From Islamabad United Captain Shadab Khan took 3 while Hunain Shah and Ruman Raees took 2 wickets each.

    Most expensive ticket for India-Pakistan match sells for $175000: report

    The most expensive ticket for the India-Pakistan match in the T20 World Cup to be held in the United States and West Indies in June this year has sold for $175000.

    According to a report filed in US TODAY, the resale tickets for the Pakistan vs India match on June 9 in New York are being sold for at least double the original prices on the website.

    The most expensive ticket for the India-Pakistan match is around 4 crore 87 lac rupees ($175000) including tax fee of $50000, the total price of the ticket is 6 crore 26 lac rupees ($225000).

    ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup general tickets are being resold on resale websites such as StubHub and SeatGeek 10 days after going on sale. The match tickets starting at 1,670 rupees ($6) in official sales.

    The most expensive ticket for the India-Pak match was $400 for premium seating without tax.

    The ICC had made it clear that no additional fees would be charged over and above certain taxes, with VIP tickets for the same match being offered for over $40,000 on the resale website, with a fee of $10,000, the total value of which becomes more than 50 thousand dollars.

    The cheapest India-Pakistan match ticket on StubHub was $1,259 till Friday. The lowest priced ticket for the match on SeatGeek was $1,166 without taxes or fees as of Friday afternoon.

    Multan Sultans became the first team to reach the playoffs in the ninth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Team captain Muhammad Rizwan issued a message for the late Alamgir Tareen on Instagram.

    Rizwan shared a picture of Tareen and wrote, “As Multan Sultans secure a place in the PSL playoffs, I remember Alamgir Tareen. His kindness and humble presence in the dugout lifted us all. Let’s make dua for him and remember to cherish and care for those around us, recognizing the silent battles they may face.”

    Tareen, well-known businessman, owner and managing director of Multan Sultans, committed suicide via gunshot at his home in July last year. In a note that he left behind, he said that he wanted his illness to end.

    When Sangeeta takes her off her shoulder, signs of panic are clearly visible on Chahal’s face. At one point, Chahal also requested the female wrestler to stop.

    Sangeeta Phogat is an award-winning wrestler with awards in several international competitions.

    Mazrabani took 2 wickets and Hasan Ali took 1 wicket for Karachi Kings.

    The Rawalpindi Express shared a photo of his newborn daughter on his social media accounts on March 1. The birth of the little girl follows two sons.

    Sharing a picture with his daughter, Shoaib Akhtar wrote in the caption, “Mikaeel & Mujaddid have a baby sister now. Allah taala has blessed us with a baby daughter. Welcoming Nooreh Ali Akhtar, born during Jumma prayers, 19th of Shaban, 1445 AH. 1st of March, 2024. Aap sab ki duaon ka talab gaar, Shoaib Akhtar.”

    Shoaib Akhtar married Rubab Khan on 11 November 2014.

    Famous French footballer Paul Pogba has been banned for four years after testing positive for dope.

    According to media reports, an Italian court has imposed a four-year ban on Pogba, the famous midfielder of France and Italian club Juventus.

    There was a request from doping prosecutors against the footballer, who was part of the 2018 FIFA World Cup winning team, and was banned for doping positive.

    According to the international anti-doping code, the maximum punishment for a positive doping test is a 4-year ban on football activities. The French international footballer has been banned from playing football till August 2027. But when the ban on the footballer ends, he will be 34-years-old, which is considered to be an age when the career of a football player is over.

    The French footballer expressed regret at the punishment, saying he would appeal against the sentence at the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne.

    Netflix has announced that it will make a documentary on the cricket rivalry between Pakistan and India.

    Netflix has announced a sports documentary dedicated to the rivalry between India and Pakistan. Titled ‘The Greatest Rivalry’, the project doesn’t have a release date yet but its first look has been released on YouTube.

    The video starts with cricket legends Imran Khan and Kapil Dev holding World Cup trophies. The 1947 border is drawn in the video, indicating that the documentary will have a historical reference. The rivalry between Virender Sehwag and Shoaib Akhtar is also showcased.
