    I have no personal enmity with Babar Azam’ Muhammad Amir

    Fast bowler Muhammad Amir has said that he has no personal enmity with batting maestro Babar Azam, stating that, “We have played cricket together and have a good relationship.”

    Talking to the media, Muhammad Amir said “I say what is best for Pakistan. The runs scored by Babar Azam in the last innings were excellent, he should play the way he played the last two overs. If Babar plays such innings for Pakistan, it will be beneficial.”

    Criticising Pakistan’s management for not planning long-term, Amir said, “They think of their own series, there should make a rotation policy and the workload of the batters and bowlers should be managed better.” The fast bowler said that it is often seen that players get unfit before the World Cup because coaches don’t do long-term planning.

    He said that Pakistan Cricket Board has to invest in four-day red ball cricket while the youth should be given good contracts in red ball cricket.

    Amir is currently playing for Quetta Gladiators in Pakistan Super League (PSL). Amir criticised Babar Azam many time on his batting approach.

    “Our team relies a lot on bowling. This year we lost due to incomplete bowling, Qalandars could not form a combination. Bowling and fielding looked off color, 200 runs are being made on Lahore pitch,” the irate former fast bowler said.

    “We have different variety of spinners, but when we don’t get wickets, things become difficult. We try different things, some efforts succeed, some failed against Sultans. Qalandars played bad cricket in all three areas, did not play cricket like they did in previous matches.”

    In the 14th match of PSL 9, Multan Sultans defeated Lahore Qalandars by 60 runs, this is the sixth consecutive defeat of Qalandars in the event.

    Multan Sultans scored 214 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the allotted overs and set Lahore Qalandars a target of 215 runs to win. After Muhammad Rizwan was dismissed for no runs, opener Usman Khan played a brilliant innings of 96 runs and played an important role in taking the team’s total to 211 runs.

    Chasing 215 runs by Multan Sultans, Qalandar’s team collapsed on 154 runs in 17 overs. Sahibzada Farhan was prominent by scoring 31 runs, van der Dusen returned to the pavilion by scoring 30 runs.

    Fakhar Zaman was dismissed on 23 runs, Kamran Ghulam scored 12 runs, Sikandar Raza was also a guest for 17 runs, captain Shaheen Shah Afridi scored 9 runs.

    Leg-spinner Usama Mir took 6 wickets for Sultans and became the first spinner to take 6 wickets in PSL.

    Spanish footballer Jose Ignacio Peleteiro converts to Islam

    Spanish footballer Jose Ignacio Peleteiro has accepted Islam, making him the latest among many football stars around world who have become Muslim. According to Daily Jang, German defender Robert Bauer, Holland star Clarence Seedorf, Barcelona club star Eric Abidal have also converted to Islam, while Ghanaian star Thomas Partey, French footballer Franck Ribery, Mali’s Fred Red Canute, Manchester United star Paul Pogba have also converted to Islam.

    French Nicolas Anelka, former Togo captain Emmanuel Adebayor also converted to Islam. The Turkish news agency quoted Spanish media outlet Marca as saying that 32-year-old Peleteiro converted to Islam after learning about Islam from his friend of 11 years, former Kuwaiti footballer Faisal Boresli.

    He said “I am very happy and powerful to be a Muslim. Joining the fold of Islam was the best moment of my life,” and for that he thanked Boresli.

    Pelletreau said “When I had dinner at Borrisley’s house, his mother presented me with a cake with the words Welcome to Islam written on it.”

    New Zealand fast bowler Neil Wagner has announced his retirement from international cricket.

    According to foreign media reports, Neil Wagner, one of the five New Zealand bowlers to take more than 250 Test wickets, has decided to retire from international cricket.

    A statement released by New Zealand Cricket on Tuesday stated “Neil Wagner has called time on his illustrious 64-Test career for the BLACKCAPS and will bow out following the Tegel Test series against Australia, starting in Wellington on Thursday. The 37-year-old pace-bowler will not be in the starting XI for the first Test at the Cello Basin Reserve and will be released from the squad ahead of the second Test in Christchurch”.

    The 37-year-old Wagner will continue to be associated with domestic cricket after his retirement from international cricket.

    Regarding retirement, Neil Wagner said that it is the right time to move on.

    He said in his message “The decision to retire was not easy but it was clear the time was right to move on, it has been an emotional week, it is not easy to walk away from something you have given so much to and A lot has been achieved but now is the time for others to step up and take this team forward”.

    “I have enjoyed every moment of playing Test cricket for the Black Caps and I am proud of everything we have been able to achieve as a team,” he said.

Peshawar Zalmi scored 201 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs while playing first.

    On behalf of Islamabad United, Shadab Khan took 2 wickets, Agha salman and Naseem Shah took one wicket each.

Islamabad needed 19 runs in last over but they could not manage to win the match and Zalmi wina the match by 8 runs.
