    Olly Stone ruled out of Pakistan Super League

    Multan Sultan’s fast bowler Olly Stone has been ruled out of HBL Pakistan Super League season 9.

    Earlier fast bowler Reece Topley was ruled out of the Sultan’s squad and Olly Stone had joined in replacement of Reece Topley. Now PSL franchise Multan Sultan has confirmed that Olly Stone has been ruled of the squad due to an injury in his groin and Multan Sultans will apply for his replacement in due course.

    PSL9: Quetta Gladiators defeats Islamabad United by 3 wickets

    In the eighth match of the HBL Pakistan Super League season 9, Quetta Gladiators easily defeated Islamabad United by 3 wickets and achieved their third consecutive victory.

    Quetta Gladiators captain Riley Rossow won the toss and invited Islamabad United to bat first.

    Islamabad United’s inning

    Islamabad United scored 138 runs for 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs, Agha Salman scored 33 runs, Faheem Ashraf, Colin Munro scored 20 runs each and Jordan Kaz scored 19 runs.

    Apart from this, Imad Wasim scored 9, Shadab Khan 2 and Azam Khan scored 1 run.

    On behalf of Quetta Gladiators, Muhammad Wasim and Abrar Ahmed took 3, 3 wickets, Aqeel Hussain took 2 wickets and Muhammad Hasnain took one wicket.

    The Gladiators team easily achieved the target of 139 in the 19th over for the loss of 7 wickets. Jason Roy 37 and Riley Rossow played an innings of 34 runs. Sherfane Rutherford scored 29 while Muhammad Amir scored 11 runs.

    From Islamabad United Naseem Shah and Shadab khan took two wickets each.

    India scored 212 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs, given Pakistan a target of 213 runs to win,

    Indian captain Dargah Rao scored 61 runs and Venkateshwara Rao scored 49 runs.

    Badar Munir and Kamran Akhtar took two wickets each for Pakistan. Matiullah and Muhammad Salman took one wicket each.

    The Green Shirts won the match by 5 wickets after a thrilling contest.

    Pakistan chased down the target of 213 runs in 19.2 overs, vice-captain Badar Munir played an innings of 129 runs off 63 balls while captain Nisar Ali scored 18 runs.

Sports journalist Zainab Abbas praised Shoaib Malik for his fitness and congratulated him on his marriage during the innings break.

    “You’re looking even fitter after getting married. What’s the secret,” Zainab asked, to which Shoaib Malik replied: “Eat clean, work hard and enjoy whatever you do.”

    Malik faced harsh criticism on social media for his recent marrige with Sana Javed, following his divorce from Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza, without making any formal announcement of his split or divorce.

    In the seventh match of HBL Pakistan Super League 9, Multan Sultans defeated Lahore Qalandars by 5 wickets and achieved their third consecutive victory in the event.

    Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Afridi won the toss and decided to bat first.

    Lahore Qalandars scored 166 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs, van der Dusen was prominent by scoring 54 runs.

    Apart from this, Fakhar Zaman scored 41 runs, Sikandar Raza scored 23 runs, Jahandad Khan scored 16 runs, while Sahibzada Farhan was out by scoring 2 runs. Abdullah Shafiq scored 6 runs and Braithwaite remained unbeaten by scoring 15 runs.

    For Multan, Muhammad Ali took 2 wickets, Abbas Afridi and Usama Mir took one wicket each.

    Multan Sultans achieved the target of 167 runs against Lahore Qalandars for the loss of 5 wickets in 19 overs.

    Captain Muhammad Rizwan was prominent by scoring 82 runs while Iftikhar Ahmed played an unbeaten innings of 34 runs off 11 balls to bring success to the team.

    It should be noted that Lahore Qalandars lost both their matches so far while Multan Sultans won both their matches.

    In the sixth match of Pakistan Super League 9, Karachi Kings defeated Peshawar Zalmi by 7 wickets thanks to Kieron Pollard’s brilliant innings.

    Kings captain Shan Masood won the toss and invited Zalmi to bat.

    Zalmi’s team looked in trouble from the start, Shoaib Malik dismissed Saim Ayub for zero, then Mohammad Haris scored 6 runs and was dismissed by Mir Hamza.

    On behalf of Peshawar Zalmi, captain Babar Azam was outstanding by scoring 72 runs, besides Tom Kohler Cadmore 2, Roman Powell 39, Asif Ali 23, Aamir Jamal 1, Lockwood returned to the pavilion by scoring 8 runs.

    Mir Hamza and Hasan Ali took three wickets each for Karachi Kings.

    Karachi Kings easily achieved Peshawar Zalmi’s target of 155 runs in the 17th over, Kieron Pollard scoring 49 runs and James Vince 38 runs unbeaten. Kieron pollard inning included 4 sixes and 4 fours.

    Peshawar Zalmi has lost their two out of two matches in the ongoing PSL season 9.

    Babar Azam becomes fastest batter to complete 10,000 runs in T20 cricket

    Records keep on tumbling before the former captain of the national team, Babar Azam. The master batsman has claimed the honor of completing 10,000 runs in the lowest innings in Twenty20 cricket. Babar Azam accomplished the feat in the match being played today against Karachi Kings in PSL 9. He has so far scored 10,025 runs at an average of 43.90 in 271 innings of 281 matches in T20 cricket.

    Before the match against Karachi Kings, Babar Azam needed only six runs to achieve the milestone. Babar has played T20 cricket for 19 teams so far in his career. Earlier this record was held by Chris Gayle who accomplished this feat in 285 innings.

    Virat Kohli is third in this list after completing 10,000 runs in 299 innings, David Warner is fourth after completing 10,000 runs in 303 innings, former Australian batsman Aaron Finch is fifth after completing this feat in 327 innings, while England’s Jos Buttler completed 10 runs in 350 innings.

    In the fifth match of HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9, Multan Sultans defeated Islamabad United by 5 wickets in a thriller.

    Multan Sultans captain Muhammad Rizwan won the toss and decided to field first.

    Islamabad United’s innings

    On behalf of Islamabad United, Agha Salman scored 52 runs and Jordan Cox scored 41 runs. Apart from this, Azam Khan scored 13 runs, Shadab Khan 11, Colin Munro 8, Alex Hales 2, Nasim Shah 2 while Imad Wasim Safar, Faheem Ashraf scored one run each.

    The whole team could score 144 runs in 20 overs.

    For Multan Sultans, Muhammad Ali and Abbas Afridi took 3 wickets each, Usama Mir took 2 wickets and David Wiley dismissed one player.

    From Multan Sultan’s Captain Rizwan scored 43 runs, Reza Handricks scored 58 runs and Iftikhar Ahmed scored 18 runs. Multan acheived the target in 19.5 overs.

    From Islamabad Nasim Shah took 2 wickets, Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim and Tymil Mills took one wicket each.

    Indian star cricketer Virat Kohli and Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma have given birth to a second child. Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma welcomed a baby boy, the couple confirmed through a post on ‘X’.

    Kohli and Anushka stated “We are extremely happy to announce that on February 15, we have the birth of Vamika’s younger brother and our son. We have named our son ‘Akaay’, we wish you all the best on this happy occasion”.

    Recently, former South African cricketer AB de Villiers claimed that Kohli and Anushka are expecting a second child, but later he denied this news.

    Due to the expected birth of the child, Virat Kohli did not participate in the ongoing Test series against England.

    It should be noted that Virat and Anushka got married in Milan, Italy in December 2017. The couple had a daughter, Wamika, in January 2021.
