    ‘Military court trial likely for Imran Khan,’ government sources say

    Criminal evidence against the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan and military evidence against former spymaster General Faiz Hameed pertaining to the May 9 riots, has been collected.

    Government sources told The News that the decision to hand Khan over to an army official on the pretext of an Army Act trial is yet to be made.

    Based on evidence, Khan’s trial will undoubtedly be in the military court. However, civilians could be exempted as their cases are pending in the Supreme Court, revealed the sources.

    A Cabinet Committee declared former Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan guilty of the May 9 riots in the report prepared by the caretaker government.

    Report reads. “Evidence shown to the cabinet committee indicates several leaders were included in planning the May 9 riots, and Imran Khan contributed actively.”

    It further read, “Investigations conducted so far suggest there were 34 individuals who masterminded the strategy of violent street power, actively contributed to planning the violence and mayhem.”

    Journalist Azaz Syed has told Geo News last night, that after the arrest of former ISI Chief Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed and the detention of Superintendent Adiala Jail, Imran Khan is “worried about a possible military trial.”

    “Right now, evidence against Gen Faiz is being collected, and this stage is called a summary of evidence. Khan’s name is coming up in the Army’s investigation against Gen Faiz,” revealed Syed.

    Azaz further stated that after evidence collection, a Field General Court Martial would be constituted.

    “If the civilian courts cannot convict Khan, then there are chances that he might be convicted in a military trial, so his concerns are genuine,” noted Azaz Syed.

    He went on to reveal that some YouTubers met Gen Faiz regularly in Bahawalpur and Peshawar and remained in touch with him even after retirement. “Faiz Hameed used to change his phone SIM frequently and used an old Chinese phone. His direct contact with PTI’s Hasan Raoof has been established.”

    Songs by Coke Studio Pakistan’s famed Balochi folk singer Wahab Bugti and Sindhi folk artist Saibaan have been released in collaboration with Indian singer and rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh.

    This marks the first time Wahab Bugti and Saibaan have collaborated with an Indian or any foreign singer.

    Both artists have entertained global music fans with their unique voices in Honey Singh’s songs.

    Wahab Bugti collaborated with Honey Singh on the song ‘Beeba,’ which also features an Italian singer. ‘Beeba’ is a mix of English, Hindi, French, and Balochi, blending folk singing with rapping. Similarly, Sindhi folk singer Saibaan, who gained fame with the Coke Studio song ‘Aayi Aayi,’ collaborated with Honey Singh on the song ‘Rap God.’ ‘Rap God’ is a mix of Hindi, Punjabi, English, and Sindhi, among other languages, with Saibaan singing folk verses in Sindhi.

    Both Pakistani singers contributed to Honey Singh’s music album ‘Glory.’ The album features 18 songs, with artists from around the world singing alongside him. However, no music videos were released immediately.

    The audio of the album, released under the T-Series label, has been well received.

    Wahab Bugti, who hails from the city of Sibi in Balochistan province, rose to fame with the Balochi song ‘Kana Yaari’ from Coke Studio Season 14.

    Similarly, Saibaan, who is from Thar, a desert region of Sindh province, gained recognition for singing the Sindhi song ‘Aayi Aayi’ in Coke Studio Season 15.

    Prime Minister’s Special Assistant for Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, claimed in an interview with ARY News that Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa has rejected any possibility of an extension to his tenure.

    “CJP Isa is an honourable judge; an age limit extension for everyone is acceptable,” he said.

    “The government is short of the required number of constitutional amendments in parliament. It is the privilege of parliament to amend the constitution,” he added.

    Commenting on the previous extension of former Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Sanaullah said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif never hinted at an extension for Bajwa.

    “It is possible that after Isa’s retirement, WhatsApp messages may surface regarding communications between the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former spymaster General Faiz Hameed on May 9th, and those who facilitated their communication may speak out later,” he concluded.

    The first day was washed out due to rain, on the second day, Bangladesh captain Najamul Hasan Shanto won the toss and decided to bowl first.

    On behalf of Pakistan, Abdullah Shafiq and Saim Ayub opened the innings, but Tasikn Ahmed bowled Abdullah for zero in the first over.

    After the dismissal of Abdullah Shafiq, Saim formed a joint partnership of 107 runs with captain Shan Masood, but Shan scored 57 runs and was dismissed by Mehdi Hasan Miraz. Mehdi Hasan also dismissed Saim on 58 runs.

    Apart from this, Saud Shakeel scored 18, Babar Azam 31 runs, Muhammad Rizwan 29 runs, and Salman Ali Agha scored 15 runs.

    Bangladesh has a 1-0 lead over Pakistan in the two-Test series.
