While most took to Instagram and Twitter to share their views, others like actors Haroon Shahid and Ahmed Ali Butt showed their support on-ground at Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s (PTI) mega rally that was held in Islamabad on March 27.
Actor Adnan Siddiqui took to Twitter to call Khan a “mass leader”, saying that people’s love for him was proof of this. He also requested those playing “dirty politics” to let Khan complete his term before writing him off.
Those busy playing dirty politics, have they fathomed the burden a new election or a new leader will put on state exchequer? IK is a mass leader. People’s love for him is proof. For the sake of Pakistan, let the man complete his term before writing him off.
Actor Humayun Saeed shared he has been a fan of Khan since his cricketing days and he still “admires his leadership”. Like Siddiqui, Saeed too wants Khan to have the chance to complete his tenure.
He made one call and they came running, and this is not even 1% of the turn out. You cannot dispute the trust, love and faith this nation has for Imran Khan. #AmarBilMaroofpic.twitter.com/h6BS0DBO21
“He made one call and they came running and this is not even 1 per cent of the turn out. You cannot dispute the trust, love and faith this nation has for Imran Khan,” wrote pop singer Annie Khalid.
Actor Saba Qamar also tweeted in support of PM Imran and said that “this is not about one person, this is about Pakistan”.
This is not about one person, this is about Pakistan. May Allah (SWT) bless our Prime Minister Imran Khan with success. Ameen @ImranKhanPTI#IamImranKhan
Lollywood star Shaan Shahid shared a throwback photo with the premier and wrote, “Pakistan has spoken. [T]hey want only one leader to lead them to a brighter future of Pakistan,” referencing those who attended the Islamabad rally in support of Khan.

Actor and host Samina Peerzada also showed support for the PM and wrote, “Kuch bhi na kaha aur keh bhi gaye,” referencing Madam Noor Jehan’s song of the same title.
Former Captain of the Pakistan Cricket team, Shahid Afridi has spoken out in favour of Prime Minister Imran Khan and has expressed his thoughts on the no-confidence motion against Imran Khan. He took to Twitter on Tuesday to share his opinion about the current situation in the country.
“It has been 74 years since Pakistan’s independence. For God’s sake, let at least one elected government complete its constitutional term.”
He also stressed that “wrongdoings” that have been done in 74 years will slowly end with the passage of time.
Afridi’s tweet came a few hours after PM Imran Khan’s address to the nation last night. The voting on the no-confidence motion is expected to be held on Sunday against PM Imran Khan. The majority of the allies of the government, which includes MQM, BAP, and independent candidates, have left and joined the Opposition to vote against PM Imran Khan.
The White House has rejected Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan’s allegations of the United States government’s involvement in a plot to remove him.
Responding to media questions regarding the issue, White House Communications Director Kate Bedingfield said, “There is absolutely no truth to the allegation.”

US Department of State Spokesperson Ned Price said, “We are closely following developments in Pakistan. We respect and support Pakistan’s constitutional process and the rule of law. But when it comes to those allegations, there is no truth to them.”
Actor Zoya Nasir has opened up on her divorce in a chat with an online magazine.
Despite growing up as the daughter of Nasir Adeeb, the scriptwriter known mostly for creating the universe of Maula Jutt, Zoya wasn’t allowed to pursue acting as a career. She eventually repressed her passion and joined Sabs, the beauty salon, as a junior partner and became a full-time beautician.
Zoya talked about the backlash she faced over her weight and the challenges of defeating the persistent nepotism and lobbying in the industry. The starlet also talked about her divorce and advocated for young girls to have a career and an independent outlook at life before marriage.
“While I don’t want to get into details, it’s important to share that I was 19 when I got married. He was 8 years older than me. I was so young, even for my age, that I didn’t know how to take a stand for myself or how to greet people as a bahu,” Zoya recalled, highlighting the struggles of teen marriages.
“I wasn’t a partner in my marriage, I was a kid, given responsibilities. My world was so small at the time that I’d succumbed to anything they’d ask of me. I never reflected on who I was as a person, I just became how people wanted me to. I’d accept mistakes even when I wasn’t at fault. When I got divorced, my family realised that it wasn’t the right move for anyone that young. I needed to broaden my horizon.” She went on to urge elders everywhere, “Do not marry teen girls. Let them see the real world and know themselves. Otherwise, they’ll spend their lives being inferior to people all the time.
Zoya was engaged to vlogger Christian Betzmann too but called it off earlier last year because of his problematic statements against Palestine and Pakistan.
The 35-year-old also narrated how her salon was hired to do hair and makeup for a channel’s film festival, which eventually led to her venture into the realm of acting. “It was then that Sonya (Khan) jee and Salman Iqbal saw me mimicking and thought I was cut out for it. In that moment, all my repressed dreams of acting reappeared and suddenly I figured, I’m an adult now, I don’t need my family’s approval to do this, so I said yes. We had a few meetings, they offered me a lead role in Hania and now I’m here.”
While Zoya is grateful she was cast in a lead role alongside actor Junaid Khan in the 2019 drama, she wouldn’t advise the move for newcomers in the industry. “I wish I didn’t start like that. I made a mistake. I didn’t know anything at that time. Now that I’ve worked with Farhan Saeed, Hadiqa Kiani, Bilal Abbas, I’ve seen how they do their homework. They know everything from lights to production and of course, their character. I’ve learnt so much that I can see my mistakes in the serial,” she admitted.
“I wouldn’t recommend a lead role to anyone as a newcomer in this world. Even if you have contacts, don’t take them. Work as a side character with notable actors, that way the pressure eases and you learn enough to stand out when you get a lead role,” added Zoya.
Despite her convincing talent, Zoya has had her fair share of challenges too, including harsh criticism about her appearance. But the Deewangi actor isn’t bothered by people spreading negativity around her. “People have often said that I do not have the face of a heroine, that I don’t look the part. I ask you to define a lead actor. Define a heroine. Can a fat, [not fair] girl not have a story to tell or is it not worth listening to? I never take offence to the statement because the definition of a lead actor is flawed here.”
Sharing incidents from when she had to take a stand against the industry embedding stereotypes, she narrated, “I went to the US for some work and came back tanned while I was working on this serial. The show makers gave a horrific reaction. They told me they’d offer me whitening injections on the house but will not tolerate the “dark, ugly” colour. It was insane. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I refused straight away.”
Zoya also lost a project while standing up for her beliefs. “I had signed a web series where I had to play a girl who is under any illusion that she’s beautiful but in she isn’t. The producer asked me to put on a black foundation. I refused and said I’ll wash my face if you do this because dark skin doesn’t equal to ugly. He told me that it was either his way or the highway. I took the highway and walked out.”
Another challenge that the actor faced was the prevailing system of lobbies. “My inspiration is Hiba Bukhari. She didn’t come from a lobby and yet took over the industry with her talent. I want to be able to defeat the lobby too. I wish to go beyond the tag of nepotism and prove my acting, because honestly if you know someone in the industry and ask them for a lead role, you get it easily. There are fewer (female) actors than male ones.”
But irrespective of the challenges, the Zebaish actor is grateful to be at a phase where she can choose projects according to her liking. Overwhelmed with the love she gets from fans, she shared that once a lady thought of her as Hania (from her debut drama) and gave her duas at a hospital. “I had a panic attack and was taken to the hospital. An old lady thought of me as Hania and gave me prayers for my recovery. That moment still stays with me.”
Earlier she appeared on Neo TV’s show G Sarkar, in which the Zebaish star reveled that her mother was abducted for thrice when she was a sitting MPA. She continued by adding that the kidnappers used to take her to a barren area and leave her there.
The Dobara diva confessed that she feels scared to travel on motorway because of her mothers frequent abductions.
Zoya also shared a disturbing encounter with criminals in Karachi, she said that when she was coming back from a shoot, gunpoint robbers stopped her car and she got so afraid that she ran out of the car screaming, and due to her screaming the muggers went away.
Earlier, Zoya Nasir clapped back to a troll on Instagram for criticising her choice of dressing. A netizen commented unpleasant remarks about her choice of dressing in her birthday picture.
On the work front, Zoya was last seen in ARY’s Meray Apnay.
Actor Ayesha Omar has clapped back at a netizen on social media who questioned her regarding her equation with cricketer Shoaib Malik.
Ever since the Rehbara diva and the athlete shot for a romantic photoshoot for a magazine, netizens have been speculating if the duo are more than just being friends.
The Bulbulay star took notice of the chatter and hence decided to clear the air publicly.
She mentioned that they are good friends and have immense respect for each other.
Shoaib recently celebrated son Izhaan’s birthday which was adored by transnational celebrities.
Cricket Legend Former Pakistan pacer Wasim Akram’s wife, Shaniera Akram, never fails to steal the limelight on social media, and on this occasion as well, she impressed netizens and garnered appreciation on Instagram for her bowling skills.
Wasim, shared a video on his official Instagram account, in which his wife can be seen bowling to him at a mini-stadium during a Dubai Expo event.

Pakistan People’s Party MNA Jam Abdul Karim, nominated for the murder of Journalist Nazim Jokhio, has reached Pakistan. His name was placed on the Provisional National Identity List (PNIL). However, Sindh High Court granted him protective bail against a surety bond of Rs100,000.
On November 3 last year, Nazim’s tortured body was found in PPP MPA Jam Awais’ farmhouse in Karachi’s Malir area, a day after he filmed a group of foreigners hunting the endangered houbara bustard in his Achar Salaar village in Thatta. According to Nazim Jokhio’s brother, Nazim had broadcast a live stream on social media of a hunting expedition involving foreign guests of PPP MPA Jam Awais, after which Jam Awais called Nazim to the house where he was allegedly murdered.
Jam Karim is the elder brother of Jam Awais. In November, he was nominated as a suspect with ten others in the murder case.

The victim’s widow, Shiren Jokhio has pardoned the accused involved in the murder of her husband. In a video statement that was released on Wednesday, she said that she had left the decision at the mercy of Almighty Allah. She added that she has taken the decision for the sake of the safety of her children.
Many think that the video statement was forced and Nazim’s widow was made to drop the case, a case she had been pursuing for six months.
Muhammad Jibran Nasir, lawyer and social activist took to Twitter and wrote: “Congratulations to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and to all your jiyalas and supporters your governance has successfully managed to submit a poor widow to a compromise with your MNA Jam Karim and MPA Jam Awais the murderers of her husband Nazim Jokhio after 6 months of resistance.”

Before presenting an award at the Oscars 2022, Chris joked about Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, looking like ‘GI Jane 2’. This enraged the Aladin star who stormed the stage, lapping Chris and warning him to keep his wife’s name out of his ‘f*cking mouth’.
The confrontation between Will Smith and Chris Rock at the Oscars has been debated around the world in the days since.
However the Oscars 2022 incident was not his first slap in public.
Back in 2012, during the premiere of Men In Black 3, the 53-year-old actor had raised his hand on a red carpet reporter who tried to kiss him on the cheek. Yes, you read that right! Later, the reporter turned out to be a prankster named Vitalii Sediuk.
Smith, enraged, drew away from the man, raising the back of his left hand and making contact with the reporter’s chin. “Hey, man, what the hell is your problem?” Smith said as he walked away and added, “he tried to kiss me on my mouth”.
Back then, the actor described the encounter as ‘just awkward’. While talking to David Letterman about the incident, he shared, “He says, ‘I’m your biggest fan, can I have a hug?’ So I go to give this joker a hug, and he tries to lean in and kiss me!”
As per The Current’s sources, the PM’s body language was ‘positive’ during the meeting.
The Current’s sources revealed that a journalist asked the PM: “How far away is the country where the letter originated from? An 18-hour flight away or 6-hour flight away?” The question was posed after the name of the concerned country was not revealed. However, it was stated that the letter was written by a Pakistani official based on the contents of the letter and it referred to a conversation with officials of the other country.
Sources added that the “mood was very relaxed” but the PM was very serious about the threat.
The letter was shown to journalists from afar, so much so that it was not readable from the naked eye. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Asad Umar was holding the letter.
On March 27, PM Khan waved a letter during PTI’s power show in Islamabad and talked about a foreign conspiracy to oust his government.
