‘Ghaari ki bajaye ghorro pe safar’: Arslan Naseer, Noor Bukhari take a jibe at PM Khan over petrol prices

The ruling government has increased the price of petrol by Rs12.03/litre, diesel Rs9.53/litre, kerosene Rs10.08/litre and light diesel oil (LDO) by 9.43/litre. The new rates will be effective from today (February 16) and will be revised at the end of the month.

As per the press release issued by the Government of Pakistan’s Finance Division, the prime minister has considered the recommendation to increase the prices of petroleum products in line with changes in the international oil prices.

The previous price of petrol was Rs147.83 per litre.

Actress Noor Bukhari took to her Instagram stories to take a dig on the government due to the increased prices of petrol in the country. She jokingly said that we should start investing on cartwheels.

The Chupke Chupke star Arslan Naseer also commented on the same.

Earlier Arsalan took a jibe at PM Imran Khan’s government for his taxation policies especially in regards to Iphone 13.

He took to his twitter handle to share his stance on the matter.

Want to buy the new iPhone? Think again because the new Pakistan tax is shocking

A government source has informed The Current that phones from abroad are now being subjected to 17% sales tax instead of a fixed sales tax. The total tax will also include customs tax.

Earlier, the fixed sales tax on the iPhone13 Pro max was Rs. 10,000 but if you now calculate a 17 per cent tax on 305068.94 PKR in our case, the tax will be 51,861.7198. The customs tax is Rs 34,000 on the iPhone.

If you now want to buy an iPhone 13 Pro max in Pakistan, the total tax will be 51,861.7198+34,000=85,861.17 for the high end iPhone.

If you have a passport on which you came back with the phone, it will cost you a little less, 51,861.7198+26,000=77,861.7198.

Government sources while talking to The Current said, “If a person can afford a phone worth almost 300k, then he can pay 78k too. These phones have inelastic demands.”

“Most smartphones sold in Pakistan (more than 80%) and mid category (between $150-200). 70% of these are now made in Pakistan and have very little tax on them. The ones in the range that are imported have a tax of around Rs 5-8k on them,” the source added.

Babar’s father defended his son and requested fans not to lose hope in him.

Azam Siddique, who is always bucking his son up regardless of how well or otherwise he performs, opened up on the matter in his latest Instagram post, but with a positive mindset.

Siddique admitted that Babar is out of form these days, but said that the star cricketer of the nation never panics.

“He neither stops working hard nor does he despair of Allah’s mercy.”

Siddique said that Babar is trying his best but it is known that even the best of the best sportsmen get out of form.

He said that they are content with God’s will and pray that may the Almighty restore Babar’s form soon before the national squad faces Australia in the upcoming home series.

Siddique also consoled Babar and Karachi Kings’ fans not to get disheartened, assuring that the cricketer is working as hard as he did in the past and will get into form very soon.

The ill-fated Kings’ were eliminated from the title race of the PSL’s seventh edition after their seventh consecutive defeat, handed down to them by Islamabad United on Sunday.

“He fell in love with me,” she added. “One of our mutual friends helped him in sending a marriage proposal to my house. My family accepted the proposal since they were already looking for a proposal for me.”

“The major obstacle in my marriage was his mother,” the singer continued. “She had a problem with my music. We lived together for five and a half years and after that, we parted ways.”

“The biggest mistake I made was that when I was engaged to him I was not happy and satisfied with it, but during this time period he attempted suicide by eating pills, which changed my mind about it,” Kiani recalled.

The Dobara star then revealed that she later married an Afghani man who lived in United Kingdom to give her child a surname and to complete his paperwork.

Last year she took to her Instagram handle and posted a long note in which she appreciated the government’s new policy related to allow children of single mothers eligible to acquire CNIC without father’s information.

In a ruling, the Sindh High Court (SHC) has ordered the National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) to issue Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) to a woman who didn’t know about her father’s whereabouts.

The Zindagi Gulzar Hai singer stated: “Only Allah knows the hardships a single mother faces in our country. Today I have been sent so many clips from my conversation with Sameena Peerzada regarding only the surface of those hard realities but today our country has taken one step forward. I am so grateful to the courageous men and women who fought to make this change. Let’s continue on the right path, let’s make a stronger and safer Pakistan.”

Hadiqa adopted her son Naad-E-Ali in 2005 from Edhi Foundation, and has raised her child as a single mother.

  • Kanye West opens up on ‘harassing’ Kim Kardashian amidst break-up with Julia Fox, leaks private chats

Kanye West opens up on ‘harassing’ Kim Kardashian amidst break-up with Julia Fox, leaks private chats

Rapper Kanye West has revealed a few modifications that will appear in his Instagram postings in the future. He has discovered that using all capitalised characters, as he’s been doing, gives the impression that he’s yelling.

He also admitted that sharing screen grabs might be disconcerting for people affected.

On Tuesday, the 44-year-old apologised in a fresh Instagram post. The Grammy-winning rapper had spent the previous few days ranting about Pete Davidson despite his growing affair with Kim Kardashian, including forbidding the Saturday Night Live comic from visiting his children and labeling him a “d***head.” Today, Kanye erased all pictures from his Instagram account and posted a fresh post with a change of heart, seemingly realising the consequences of his actions.

“I’ve learned that using all caps makes people feel like I’m screaming at them,” he penned. He further wrote, “I’m working on my communication. I can benefit from a team of creative professionals, organizers, mobilizers and community leaders. Thank everybody for supporting me.” He continued: “I know sharing screen shots was jarring and came off as harassing Kim. I take accountability.” Kanye’s statement comes amid claims that Kim contacted him about his rants potentially placing Pete in “danger.” The rapper shared screenshots allegedly from ‘Kim’s other phone,’ in which the reality star stated that Kanye was ‘creating a dangerous and scary environment and someone will hurt Pete and this will be all your fault,’ as per The Sun.

Kanye has erased all but two of his Instagram postings since then: a montage of heartwarming photographs of Kim and their four children from Kim’s recent Vogue shoot, and the cover of his next album Donda 2.

Meanwhile Kanye has called it quits with actress Julia Fox on Monday, after a whirlwind six-week romance and  also spent time with his children North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm at Sunday Service and the Super Bowl.

Kim filed for divorce from Ye a year ago citing “irreconcilable differences.” The pair who share four children: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm remained fairly amicable as co-parents in the initial wake of the split. Months down the line, however, Ye began making a bunch of grand declarations in a bid to reconcile his and Kim’s relationship, which included asking her to “run right back” to him onstage at a concert in December.

Following his unsuccessful attempts to win her back, Ye has recently called Kim out with a series of public statements which started around the time she was first linked to Saturday Night Live’s Pete Davidson in late October. In fact, Ye first expressed his disapproval of Kim’s new relationship in an appearance on the Drink Champs podcast in November, where he continually insisted that she’s “still [his] wife” and claimed he’d “never even seen” any of their divorce papers.

Ye publicly dissed Pete by name for the first time that same month. In his song “Eazy,” Ye raps: “God saved me from this crash / Just so I could beat Pete Davidson’s ass.” He seemingly went on to suggest that Pete should “thank” him for letting him “have” Kim in a song released just last week, titled “City of Gods.”

Things only got messier after Ye publicly shared a message he’d received from Pete. “[That’s] a promise. How you guys [go about] raising your kids is [your business] and not mine,” the message continues.

“I do [hope one] day I can meet them and [we can] all be friends,” it finishes. Ye, shared a photo of Pete and Machine Gun Kelly in Calvin Klein underwear from a memorable Instagram livestream in December — wrote in the caption: “NO YOU WILL NEVER MEET MY CHILDREN.”

Ye then shared a handful of other posts aimed at Pete, calling him “garbage” and “trash.” He even rehashed a false rumor that Pete once sent late rapper Mac Miller intimate photos of himself and Ariana Grande, in a bid to prevent them from getting back together.
