Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ramiz Raja on Friday got angry at provincial coach Basit Ali for calling him “Rambo” in a virtual meeting.
According to 24 News, Raja held a virtual meeting with the six provincial coaches in which some of his old colleagues were also included.
During the meeting, the head coach of the Sindh province and former Pakistan Test batsman, Basit Ali, who was also a friend of Ramiz, called him “Rambo”.
Ramiz strongly reacted to this with some aggression and said, what happened Mr Basit, I am the chairman of the PCB. You should speak consciously, he sternly replied to him.
After Ramiz’s aggressive reply to Basit, all the coaches got serious.
In the meeting, the PCB chairman also slammed another coach Shahid Aslam on his friendly attitude and advised him strictly that he should coach and don’t try to pay for friendships.
Meanwhile, he also warned the coaches that either they perform well or go home.
Actor Ghana Ali has opened up about her experience of pregnancy and how her husband helps her deal with the difficulties. The Dilruba diva while sharing her picture on her Instagram story wrote, “Who says it’s easy to become a mother swelled face/body fatigue.”

Pakistani cricketer Umar Akmal shared a picture on social media where he said he was going to the United States (US) for some personal meetings.
Akmal took his fans by surprise as he posted a picture on Twitter and said he was off to the US for some personal meetings and would have to stay there for some time if things worked out.

In July this year, Akmal had issued an apology for failing to report cases of spot-fixing in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

“Seventeen months ago, I made a mistake which caused damage to my cricket and career. I learnt a lot during this time and due to that mistake Pakistan cricket’s reputation suffered badly. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended the date for filing income tax returns till October 15. Earlier, the last date for filling income tax returns was September 30. FBR had said at many times that it would not extend the deadline for people seeking to file their income tax returns, but the deadline was extended on Thursday.
“In exercise of powers conferred under Section 214A of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001, the Federal Board of Revenue is pleased to extend the date of fling of income tax return for tax year 2021, by 15 days i.e. up to 15.10.21 due to serious technical problems in online return filing system (IRIS),” said the notification issued by FBR.
As per Geo News, Minister for Finance Shaukat Tarin decided to extend the date considering the constant demands from the business community. The tax-collection body had received several applications for the extension of the deadline for filing income tax returns.
Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin on Friday said the rates of petroleum products in Pakistan are still lower when compared to several regional countries.
Tarin said Pakistan ranks 17th in the region when it comes to petrol prices.
“There are only 16 other countries that have lower petrol prices than ours. They are oil producers and have their own oil,” said Tarin.
“Prices in the international market have increased recently forcing the government to hike local prices,” he said after petrol prices were increased by Rs4 per litre and that of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs2 per litre.
Shaukat Tarin said Prime Minister Imran Khan stopped the ministry from increasing the levy as he wanted to lessen the burden on the masses. “This is the reason we want to give direct subsidy to the lower-income group.”
“We are not even charging [petroleum] levy even though we have kept a target of Rs600 billion for it in the budget. But we and the prime minister didn’t care for it.”
Meanwhile, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Senator Sherry Rehman has criticised the government for dropping a “petrol bomb” on the masses in times of extreme inflation.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM), Dr Shahbaz Gill, alleged that anchorperson Kamran Shahid was asked to spread fake news and misquote facts about the United Kingdom’s (UK) court order to unfreeze Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif and his family’s bank accounts for lack of evidence of corruption and money laundering. A heated exchange took place between the two on Dunya News‘ programme, ‘On the Front with Kamran Shahid’.
Gill started off by reading a few statements by Kamran Shahid and gave details of the statements, which as per him were fake news and were factually incorrect.
Gill’s comments led to a heated exchange of words between Gill and Kamran.
“Sir, no one can make me misquote statements, not the prime minister or Azhar Javed [UK-based journalist working for Dunya News],” replied Kamran Shahid.
“You cannot say that I misquote my facts. I have been in journalism for the past 15 years. I am not indulging in any personal attacks against you and neither should you. No one can make me say things that are factually incorrect, not PM Imran Khan, not Shehbaz Sharif, no one,” added Shahid.
“You are wrong here, no one has the courage to make me misquote my statements or facts. Refrain from doing this.”
“Let the masses decide about your statements, seems like you are running for an election,” said Gill in response to Shahid’s answer.
“I have the right to judge the prime minister, he is my PM as well. I supported him long before your [Shahbaz Gill] career as a politician started in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI),” said Shahid.
“You have a fascist regime, your party is monitoring everything, you all do one-sided reporting on Pakistan Television Network (PTV), there is no mention of the Opposition in their reporting. If you so highly support journalism why haven’t you made media independent from the information ministry,” said Shahid.
Shahid added, “PM promised in my show that he will raise the standard of PTV like that of the BBC, now should I say the PM lied?”
Actor Kubra Khan has tested positive for Covid-19 after basking in the glory of fan’s appreciation for her performance as Mashal in Farooq Rind’s Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay.
The Daldal star took to Instagram to share the news, “We as human beings have the funniest scales to measure what’s a big or a small deal,” she wrote. “We are waltzing around this world given temporarily to us, taking everything and everyone for granted. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) issued a warning to Karachi residents as a cyclone named Gulab nears the Sindh-Makran coast.
People are advised to keep at a distance from trees, billboards and polls, Director Met Office Sardar Sarfaraz told ARY News.
Earlier, as per the official notification, the coastal belts had also been warned as the sea conditions would remain very rough with high surge at times till October 3.
The department also suggested that there will be urban flooding in Karachi, Badin, Thatta, Hyderabad, Dadu, Mirpurkhas, Shaeed Benazirabad, Lasbela, Sonmiani, Ormara, Pasni, Gwadar, Turbat and Jiwani.
The notification said: “The system is likely to intensify further into a cyclonic storm during the next 24 hours and move northwestwards.”
However, the Met Office said that the PMD Tropical Cyclone Warning Centre, Karachi is closely monitoring the system.
