Mashal Khan, popular for her roles in Suno Chanda and Thora Sa Haq, lashed out on a couple on social media for using a lion cub as a prop.
In a social media post, the actor remarked that she was disgusted by the actions of the couple.
“They do not exist to provide entertainment for sick, mentally inferior people like those in this picture,” Mashal commented.
In the next post, she highlighted how the lion cub looks agitated and slammed the groom for smiling despite the fact that the lion cub is feeling irritated.
The actor then appealed to her followers not to keep lions as pets. She explained how keeping them in captivity causes the animals great stress and affects their mental health which can also be dangerous for their owners.
Mashal is a vocal advocate of animal rights and has often voiced her concerns on social media. She even did a campaign with RPK Critter Care and Animal Hospital which is Karachi’s first ever fully equipped 24/7 animal hospital.
Some people are a natural at stealing the spotlight. And if there is anyone who knows how to get everyone’s attention, it is Geo News reporter Amin Hafeez. Field reporting is undoubtedly very tough but Hafeez is not one to shy away and he not only presents the news report but also makes it interesting with his very own unique style.
His latest news report on the story of a wedding in the royal kitchen of the Lahore Fort, which was widely circulated on social media, is the perfect example of that. In the video, Hafeez can be seen as a sword-wielding Mughal emperor or maybe a warrior.
Head coach and chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq on Thursday announced Pakistan’s squad for the upcoming T20Is against Bangladesh. While Babar Azam has been appointed captain, the experienced middle-order duo of Muhammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik have also returned to the team.
Meanwhile, none of the Akmal brothers were part of the squad and Kamran took to social media to express his hurt and disappointment.
Hurt&heart broken for not being considered 4 team i have really worked hard ..anyways i won’t give up i will work harder & would like to thank everyone who supported me jazak Allah thank you
Kamran, who recently turned 38, last played an international game in 2017 but has been in impressive form lately and is the all-time scorer in the Pakistan Super League.
When sports journalist Shoaib Jatt commented that the batsman is a hero, Akmal replied, “Hero aise zaleel nahi hotey.”
Kamran also replied to other Twitter users and shared that though he doesn’t quite understand what the selectors want, he won’t give up and will continue to give his best.
Kamran also congratulated his colleagues Muhammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik on their selection.
congratulations to the players who’s got selected agaist bangladesh series. congrats to @MHafeez22 & @realshoaibmalik for their comebacks.good luck everyone.
The full squad includes Babar Azam, Ahsan Ali, Ammad Butt, Haris Rauf, Ifthikar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Hasnain, Muhammad Musa Khan, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Afridi, Shoaib Malik, Usman Qadir
Meanwhile, in an interview with The Current in September 2019, Akmal had said that he felt that he was “invisible to the selectors”.
When asked why he wasn’t selected for the team, Akmal had replied, “I think I was invisible to the selectors. They were unable to see my performance. That’s all I’d say. The selectors and board can tell you better.”
Akmal had also shared his everyday fitness routine.
“I undergo physical training for an hour or two every day in the ground with my brothers Umar and Adnan. Then we take rest for an hour or so and later come here… to the club.”
Kamran also chose Misbah over Shahid Afridi.
“Both are good,” he had said. “But how Misbah led the team for five or six years as the captain; took the team to the top. His and the team’s performance in Test matches was outstanding.”
Prime Minister Imran Khan, who was a close friend of Lady Diana and has strong ties with the United Kingdom, said that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were young and had a right to live their life as they wished.
In a wide-ranging interview with German broadcaster Deutsche Welle (DW), when the PM was asked about his thoughts on the matter [Megxit], he replied, “You know what, I have so many issues in Pakistan to deal with. It doesn’t seem to be a huge issue to me. I think, it’s their life. If that’s how they want to lead it, then why should people interfere?”
When probed further and asked if he thought Diana would have understood their decision, PM Khan responded, “I guess so. Frankly, I haven’t really looked into it deeply. I think they are a young couple who want to lead their own life, so it’s up to them.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on January 8 had announced that they intend to divide their time between North America and the UK to carve out a “progressive new role” and step back from their senior positions.
After much deliberation and reports of a royal tiff, the Queen gave the couple her blessings and allowed them to split their time between Canada and Britain during a “transition period” in which the family will figure out how to deal with their shock resignation from front-line royal duties.
“My family and I are entirely supportive of Harry and Meghan’s desire to create a new life as a young family,” the 93-year-old queen had said in a statement.
Earlier, PM Imran’s former wife and mother of his two sons Jemima Goldsmith had also extended her support to Meghan and said that she understood “what it’s like to marry a national hero from another country and be attacked by the media for your ethnicity.”
British actor Hugh Grant has defended Prince Harry’s right to “protect his family”.
“I am rather on Harry’s side,” said Grant in a radio interview.
“The tabloid press effectively murdered his mother, now they’re tearing his wife to pieces,” he continued, referencing to Princess Diana’s 1997 death, in which her vehicle was pursued by paparazzi. “I think as a man, it’s his job to protect his family, so I am with him.”
Earlier Jemima Goldsmith had also extended her support to the Sussex’s.
While we freeze in the cold wave that has enveloped the country, Mahira Khan is enjoying a beachy vacay in Mexico.
The actor took to social media to share pictures from recent trip to Tulum Beach in Mexico and honestly all we want to do is book ourselves a ticket there.
Sunkissed and tanned.
Mahira also shared pictures of the surroundings though we have to say that our eyes are only on her.

Looks like Mahira took a break from her hectic shooting schedule for Quaid e Azam Zindabad and is unwinding by the beach.
Sarmad Khoosat’s award-winning film Zindagi Tamasha seems to have run into trouble once again.
As the film gears up for release in Pakistan, the filmmaker took to social media to reveal that “a few troublemakers” were creating hurdles in its release “for their political ends.”
In an open letter addressed to Prime Minister Imran Khan, President Dr Arif Alvi, Chief Justice of Pakistan, Chief of the Army Staff and Minister for Information, Khoosat detailed the problems his film was facing in its release.
Along with that, he clarified that “As a law-abiding citizen and with full conviction that there is nothing offensive or malicious in the film, in response I submitted the film for another review to the censor board. It was cleared once again with a few cuts to appease the complainants.”
“I launched the promotional campaign and now, just a week before the film’s release, another attempt is being made by the same group to stop the release of the film and this time they are hell-bent on using pressurising tactics,” he said, adding that he is bringing this issue to their notice because “these series of episodes undermines a state institution like the Central Board of Film Censors.”
Written by Nirmal Bano and directed by Sarmad Khoosat, Zindagi Tamasha starres Arif Hassan, Samiya Mumtaz, Eman Suleman and Ali Qureshi in the lead. The film is centred around a naat khwan Rahat Khawaja (played by Hassan) and his family who are outcast from the society when a secret of Khawaja’s is leaked.
The official synopsis states: “The film is an intimate portrait of a family as well as a scorching political commentary on little gods on this earth who police our private passions.”
The film premiered at the Busan International Film Festival held in October 2019 where it also won the prestigious Kim Ji Seok Award.
Meanwhile, Sarmad’s colleagues including Meesha Shafi and Ali Gul Pir stepped forward to support the filmmaker and his film.
The state of Pakistan needs to stop censoring art to appease a few troublemakers. If your art is not free, the minds of your people will stay enslaved and never evolve. I hope #zindagitamasha gets released in it’s true form #art#freedom#NoToTLPBullyinghttps://t.co/NZK0odHyqm

Maj Gen Ghafoor had headed the military’s media wing since December 2016. The announcement of his departure comes after Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed called on Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan.
WHO IS MAJ GEN IFTIKHAR?
According to Dawn, Maj Gen Iftikhar was commissioned in 6 Lancers in March 1990. He is a graduate of the Command and Staff College Quetta, National Defence University (NDU) Islamabad and Royal Command and Staff College Jordan. Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Director General (DG) Major General Muhammad Arif Malik has said that courts should be closed if cases “are to be decided through taking oath”, The News reported.
The ANF chief’s statement came as Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rana Sanaullah, who was granted bail in the drugs trafficking case against him, continues to swear over the Quran that he is innocent and the case is bogus.
The ANF has challenged the bail of the former Punjab law minister Sanaullah before the Supreme Court, filing a petition against the verdict of the Lahore High Court (LHC). It has argued that there was sufficient evidence against Sanaullah for being involved in the drugs case.
The ANF alleged the PML-N leader was carrying around 15 kilograms of heroin with him when he was arrested from Sukheki in July last year. The force asked the court to set aside the verdict of the LHC wherein he was allowed bail.
Later, talking to the reporters, the ANF DG asked if any murderer ever admitted in court or in public that he/she killed a person. He said Rana Sanaullah’s case was being heard by the court and he should provide evidence of his innocence there.
Major General Arif Malik said Rana Sanaullah and Minister of State for Narcotics Control Shaharyar Afridi both took oath and therefore, a draw should be held to figure out who is the culprit.
Responding to a journalist who asked the ANF DG that if he could swear about the veracity of the case, he said courts should be closed if things were to be settled that way.
