    Helps in digestion

    The spices in biryani help in improving the digestive system of the body. The various spices, especially cumin, turmeric, and ginger, helps with easy digestion. Cumin can speed up the digestive enzymes, turmeric helps reduce gas and treats irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and ginger prevents nausea and other irregularities in the body that make one sick.

    Detoxifies Internal Organs

    Biryani contains spices that are known as a successful antioxidant to the internal organs. These spices include turmeric, black pepper, cumin, ginger and garlic. Cumin or curcumin has anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor as well as antiviral properties, which makes it an all-in-one cleansing spice. Black pepper eases digestion, whereas ginger works as a natural antioxidant as well as to cure digestive problems. 

     All the main nutrients in one meal

    One plate of chicken biryani has protein, carbohydrates and fats in one serving. Protein is represented through chicken meat, carbohydrate comes from the rice, and the fat comes from the oil used. Vitamins and minerals can also be present if different veggies are added or if you prefer to make a vegetarian biryani.

    A woman has been caught on camera threatening on-duty traffic policeman in Karachi after she was stopped by him over traffic rules violation.

    According to the details, the woman was stopped by the traffic personnel in Karachi’s area of Khayaban-e-Shahbaz of DHA after she violated a signal rule.

    Ali Gul Pir is back with a new rap song, Karle Jo Karna Hai that directly challenges a famous Pakistani singer-actor who has been accused of sexual harassment. While the comedian doesn’t really take anyone’s name, he gives clear hint.

    “Chup nahi baithunga, sab kuch mai keh dunga”, the rapper sends the message that nothing will stop his freedom of expression and the song includes some very specific lyrics about a ‘legal notice’ that won’t stop him from sharing his opinion.

    Ali was throwing shade at a legal notice issued to the star, as well as 15 others for allegedly making derogatory remarks about Ali Zafar. In a statement released in August, he wrote, “In Pakistan, some people have so much power that they try to silence you if you don’t agree with them.”

    Wearing a ‘Super Sindhi’ ajrak jacket, he mentions the person he is attacking as ‘Teefa’, then goes on to say that the person gets invited on award shows. (Ali Zafar was nominated for his movie Teefa in trouble at Lux style awards and people had called for a boycott of the awards due to the harassment allegations)

    Figure skating is not very common in Pakistan, but this young girl from Pakistan pursued her dream of becoming a professional figure skater despite the very little facilities in the country.

    At the age of 5, Mallak Faisal Zafar started figure skating and has now won her first international award in Austria.

    Mallak won the first position in the Basic Novice Girls II category at the 24th International Eiscup Innsbruck 2019 for her fine display during the 2-day event.

    Over 200 participants from Austria, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and a number of other countries competed at this popular Interclub Singles Competition for Seniors, Juniors, Advanced Novice, Intermediate Novice, Basic Novice, Cubs and Chicks.

    The athlete’s ultimate goal is to represent Pakistan at the Winter Olympics.

    It appears that we’re not getting over the Danish-Shehwar confrontation anytime soon. Danish’s slap won the internet after the 13th episode of Meray Paas Tum Ho aired last weekend.

    After the episode, Humayun Saeed thanked his fans for the appreciation, adding that it “feels strange to ‘like’ or respond to all the excitement on someone being hit though.”

    The actor then proceeded to give the credit to his co-star Adnan Siddiqui “whose wonderful reaction to my action has made this sequence such a success.”

    In response to Humayun’s tweet, Adnan shared a video on his Instagram in which he can be heard saying, “Thappad se darr nahi lagta sahab ji, pyaar se lagta hai.

    Adnan also thanked Humayun for his message.

    “The way you hit me got the best reaction out of me,” he says in the message.

    Ending his video, Adnan laughs and says, “Iss eik thapar nay Shehwar ko do takay ka kardiya.”

  • ‘Petrol price is Rs75 per litre,’ says PTI leader Uzma Kardar

    Pakistan Tehreeke Insaf’s (PTI) MNA Uzma Kardar has said that petrol is being sold at Rs75 per litre in the country, which in reality is being sold at Rs114.24 per litre.

    Uzma Kardar said this while replying to a question of a reporter about petrol prices in Pakistan.

    This is not the first time any PTI leader has made a statement mentioning wrong prices of things in the country. A few days earlier finance advisor Abdul Hafeez and prime miniter’s aide Firdous Ashiq Awan, both in there statements mentioned wrong prices of Tomatoes and Peas (Matar) in Pakistan.

    Abdul Hafeez Sheikh had earlier claimed that tomatoes are being sold at Rs17 per kilogramme (kg). However, the fruit is being sold at as much as Rs320 per kg in the market as reported by citizens who bought groceries from multiple locations.

    Similarly, Firdous Ashiq Awan had earlier claimed that peas are being sold in the market for only Rs5 per kilogram.

    Indian rapper and actress Taran Kaur Dhillon, better known as Hard Kaur, received a lot of backlash on social media after she released a new rap song From Kashmir to Khalistan dedicated to the people of occupied Kashmir and the Sikh minority of Hindu-majority India.

    “As artists we shouldn’t be pressured into making club bangers and commercial songs all the time,” she reportedly said after her new video was released.

    “A real artist needs to be respected for his freedom of expression. When that’s overtaken with business and money it puts very difficult choices in front of an artist. [This song] it’s my way of raising awareness as an artist through my music. Being a Sikh, I must stand up against oppression and protect humanity especially when it’s my land, my people, my country”, the rapper added. 

    The Indian rapper has been very vocal about the human rights abuses being carried out by the government of Indian under Prime Minister Narendra Modi in occupied Kashmir and also about the oppression of minorities in India.

    Earlier this year, authorities in India had charged the United Kingdom-based rapper with sedition after she posted some comments on social media against the extremist Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat and Uttar Pradesh (UP) Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

    As per reports, the social media accounts of Hard Kaur were blocked in India soon afterward.

  • CM Buzdar calls on PM Imran twice within 24 hours amid reports of his removal

    Amid reports of massive changes in the administration in the provincial cabinet, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar has called on Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan, the second time within 24 hours, The News International reported.

    According to the details, a one-line statement was issued by the PM Office that Punjab CM Usman Buzdar met Imran Khan here at the Prime Minister Office on Monday.

    Meanwhile, Chairman of PM Inspection Team Ahmad Yar Hiraj has called on the premier and the two had deliberations on the performance of various government departments.

    The premier has said that in the light of the PMIT report, the government departments should make every possible effort to strictly follow the report.

    It is important to note here that the party’s core committee and members of the provincial assembly of Punjab had expressed serious concerns regarding the bureaucracy.

    In the last 15 days, CM Buzdar has held a series of meetings with the Punjab Assembly members who repeatedly have complained that the bureaucracy is not cooperating to resolve the public’s issues in the province.

    President Arif Alvi has offered Qatar of providing security for the next FIFA World Cup being held in the Gulf country in 2022, stressing that Pakistan had vast experience in that domain, The Express Tribune reported.

    According to the details, talking to Commander of the Qatar Emiri Guard, Maj-Gen Hazzaa Bin Khalil Bin Mansour Al-Shahwani, President Alvi said that a lot of scope existed between the two countries to include defence export and joint production ventures.

    Dr Alvi underscored that having vast experience in the domain of security and the professionalism of its armed forces, “Pakistan can provide Qatar security for Football World Cup 2022″.

    He also emphasised on the need for enhancing the training collaboration and professional interaction between defence forces of the two countries, appreciating the agreement for sale of eight Super Mushak aircraft to Qatar worth $57.74 million in 2016.

    The president urged Qatar to support Pakistan in its endeavours to highlight Indian human rights violations in Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) before the world, and stressed the need for the international community to persuade India to resolve the long withstanding dispute in accordance with United Nations (UN) Security Council resolutions.

    “The fascist Indian regime is flagrantly violating the human rights of Kashmiris by revoking the special status of occupied Kashmir and by suspending their civil liberties. The Indian government has adopted a hostile attitude towards all its minorities,” the report quoted Alvi as saying.

    Maj-Gen Al-Shahwani said, “Qatar considered it a religious duty to support Pakistan at all levels”.

    Separately, the Qatari commander also called on army chief General Qamar Bajwa at the GHQ in Rawalpindi, and discussed matters of mutual and professional interest and regional security situation.

    CJP suspends COAS Bajwa’s extension notification

    Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Asif Saeed Khosa has suspended the notification of Army Chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa’s tenure extension on Tuesday, Dawn reported.

    According to the details, the court has issued notices to all parties, including Gen Bajwa.

    During the hearing of a petition challenging the extension in Gen Bajwa’s tenure today, the chief justice said, “Only the president of Pakistan can extend the tenure of the army chief.”

    “Army chief’s tenure was extended after the president’s approval,” the attorney general (AG) told the court, adding that “The summary had been approved by the cabinet.”

    The AG also said, “A similar petition was filed in the Peshawar High Court but was withdrawn later”.

    On August 19, Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan had approved an extension in the tenure of Gen Bajwa for another three years.
