    Xiaomi is gearing up to launch its first-ever Windows PC with gaming GPU

    Xiaomi seems to be gearing up to enter yet another technological market. The Chinese juggernaut is most likely known for its smartphones, and some of you may be familiar with their line of laptops, but it now appears that at least a few Windows PCs are on the way.

    According to gsmarena, the two designs were reportedly planned to be unveiled at the Xiaomi event on December 1. Due to Jiang Zemin’s passing as the former general secretary of the Chinese Communist Party, the event has been postponed. It appears that two PC designs were still showed off to select folks a little early while we wait for a new date to be set.

    Let’s begin with the stranger of the two. The Xiaomi Host Mini PC appears to be a small form factor (SFF) prototype that has been left in its most basic form. That is to say, the system in the image only has a 100W XM22AL5X PSU installed. The remainder of the hardware that will be included in the box hasn’t been revealed because it’s unlikely that Xiaomi will sell it as a barebones kit.

    We can infer from the images that a Mini-ITX motherboard will support low-profile, half-height, up to dual-slot dedicated GPUs. Although we are unsure of how a dedicated GPU will function with the 100W power supply, it’s possible that it isn’t the final or only component in the setup.

    The windows key and “M” key combination are illustrated on a bespoke plate that is attached to the back of the case. Perhaps Xiaomi intends to change the Windows key combination that generally dismisses all windows and replace it with a unique function. The mechanical switch that is mounted on the back of the Host Mini PC is another intriguing feature. Even though neither of us is certain what it does, the leaked Weibo images do show an accessory package that includes a keycap for the button in question, indicating that it is probably functional.

    Now let’s go on to the other system, about which we know a lot more. It is a small PC with a form factor similar to the Mac Mini or Intel NUC. It will reportedly be powered by a 45W MD Ryzen 7 6800H APU with a Radeon 680M RDNA2 iGPU, 16GB of memory, and a 512GB SSD.

    Chief Minister of Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said that the Punjab Assembly will not be dissolved for the next four months, increasing confusion over the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) plan to dissolve provincial assemblies.

    In an interview with a private TV channel, Elahi said, “One should do their homework till March. We have reservations about the Chief Election Commissioner. So we need to look into that. We will also see how the Opposition behaves. So yes, the assembly stays intact till March.”

    The Punjab Chief Minister said that both Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) made offers to Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q); however, the party supported the former on the advice of the former Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General (retd) Bajwa.

    Elahi said that he received offers from both camps — PTI and PDM — but in line with the advice of the former army chief, his party preferred to choose Khan.

    The chief minister maintained that his son Moonis Elahi also suggested that they should side with the PTI.

    Commenting on his past experiences with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, CM Elahi said that there were always apprehensions about the Sharifs “lying” to them.

    “I was with the Sharifs for 18 years, they always lied to us. I would [often] say the Sharifs won’t let me do anything for the province,” he said recalling his discussions with the “institution” on whom to support during the Vote of No Confidence.

    “When we discussed this with the institution, they suggested thinking about what was better for us. We consult the institution when such a situation arises,” Elahi said, adding that the institution told them that choosing PTI was a “respectable and better option”.

    According to details, the incident took place in Dera Allahyar, Jaffarabad. Two men and a woman were killed by an unidentified man. Another woman was injured in the firing.

    She was moved to a hospital where the unidentified armed men tried to kill her too. The injured woman was saved by hospital staff.
    The police reached the location later and controlled the situation.

    While sharing a screenshot from the comment section of her maternity shoot picture, Khan showed how she shut a troll for being a “hypocrite” for wanting her to confide to his perfect ‘desi woman’ standard. “Troll me all you want, I don’t care and will never care,” she wrote reiterating that it’s her online space and she shares all updates with her fans and well-wishers and not with haters.

    She went on to share the brutal comments she has received on the post. A person commented on how her maternity shoot looked like a “Hollywood copy” and that women shouldn’t copy the “Kafir (sinners)” to feel empowered. “Hey ladies, Don’t be like Fatima. She’s a hypocrite,” wrote Khan.

    Triggered by the negative comments, Khan put up a PSA for everyone following her. “Next up, I will talk about my delivery and all of the details when it happens. [This is] my space, not yours,” she wrote in a series of Instagram Stories. “If I haven’t triggered you religious fanatics enough yet, watch this space.”

    She also went on to encourage other women to share their experiences of motherhood, and otherwise and claim their space after a fan congratulated her for finding the strength to do the same. “Claim your space, ladies. Motherhood and all its aspects are indeed beautiful. We should discuss our experiences. Let’s lift the ‘shame’ which isn’t even Islamic by the way, but has more to do with misogyny and our oppressive culture,” Khan exclaimed.

    Khan, on a roll, pointed out the lack of logic in a certain troll’s comment who insisted on her to feel “shameful because she’s a Muslim woman.” She said, “When you see a pregnant woman in public on the streets, do you wear those horse blinkers or do you avert your eyes? I doubt you do either. It all depends on how filthy your mind is,” she concluded her series of posts.

    The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) has sealed 11 distinct commercial buildings and properties worth billions of rupees in Lahore on the Supreme Court’s directives.

    The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), a police team, and the administration conducted a raid and took action against encroachments under the direction of ETPB Chairman Habibur Rahman.

    In renowned commercial areas like Sheesha Moti Bazaar, Wichuwali, Hingana Street, Sutar Mandi, Ravi Road, Mohini Road, and Bradlaugh Hall, the team sealed numerous properties that were in illegal possession.

    Indian actor Paresh Rawal has landed in a massive controversy with his viral comments on Bengalis while campaigning in Gujarat for the ruling BJP.

    “Gas cylinders are expensive but they will come down. People will get employment too. But what will happen if Rohingya migrants and Bangladeshis start living around you, like in Delhi? What will you do with gas cylinders? Cook fish for the Bengalis?” Rawal was heard saying at the rally.

    While the ruling Trinamool Congress in Bengal has hit out at Rawal for his offensive comments, former Member of Parliament and CPI(M) leader Md Salim has filed a complaint with the police.

    At a rally, Paresh Rawal said the people of Gujarat would tolerate inflation but not “Bangladeshis and Rohingya” next door and used a “cooking fish” stereotype that has incensed Bengalis.

    Mr. Salim has written to the Taltala Police Station in Kolkata asking them to treat his complaint as an FIR and prosecute the actor as his comments are generating adverse opinions against Bengalis.

    “A large number of Bengalis reside outside the limits of the state. I apprehend many of them will be prejudicially targeted and affected because of the vicious remarks made by Paresh Rawal,” Md. Salim says in his letter to the police.

    Md Salim wants Paresh Rawal to be charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including for promoting enmity, intentional insult, public mischief etc.

    Paresh Rawal’s comments on Bengalis have created a storm in West Bengal with the ruling Trinamool Congress taking strong objection to his outburst.

    Though the veteran actor made an effort to explain his comments with a qualified apology but ended up aggravating the row by claiming that he meant “illegal Bangladeshis and Rohingya” when he used the word “Bengalis”.

    Many saw it as “hate speech” attacking Bengalis. Others described it as “xenophobic dog-whistling” against the Bangladeshi and Rohingya.

    “So once again the politics of violence, hate, and division is out in the open. Renowned actor Mr. Paresh Rawal who is a member of the BJP remarked about cooking fish for the Bengalis. I think this was utterly distasteful and a very insensitive remark. The BJP and the union government cannot tackle the rising prices of gas cylinders and inflation. But they turn around the problem and directed it this time to the Bengalis and their habit of eating fish,” Shashi Panja, who holds the portfolios of Industries, Commerce & Enterprises and Department of Women and Child Development and Social Welfare in West Bengal, said.

    “Very unfortunate. So now you are targeting Bengal because as everybody remembers, you could not win in the 2021 assembly elections. You are yet to digest the defeat. You are unable to assimilate the mandate of the people. So now you are attacking Bengali food habits. People in Bengal, who live together with everybody will not take this lying down. The All-India Trinamool Congress once again condemns such kinds of statements, the statements of Paresh Rawal.” Dr Shashi Panja added.

    The former Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General (retired) Qamar Javed Bajwa, watched the fourth day of the first Test series between Pakistan and England on Sunday in Rawalpindi.

    The recently retired COAS handed over the military’s command to General Asim Munir earlier this week, marking the end of his six-year extended tenure.

    Having taken a 78-run lead in the runfest, England declared their second innings on 264-7 to set Pakistan an improbable victory target of 343 with four sessions to go.

    Harry Brook (87), Joe Root (73), and Zak Crawley (50) scored half-centuries for the visitors. While, the Shaheens: Naseem Shah, Mohammad Ali, and Zahir Mahmood claimed two wickets each for Pakistan.

    A day earlier, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam became the seventh batsman to smash a century.

    Last week, the Ben Stokes-led England cricket team finally embarked on their historic Test tour of Pakistan for the first time since 2005.

    Iran abolishes ‘morality police’

    After more than two months of protests triggered by the arrest of Mahsa Amini for allegedly violating the country’s strict female dress code, Iran’s local media said on Sunday that the country has suspended it’s morality police.

    “Gasht-e-Ershad,” which translates as “guidance patrols,” and is widely known as the “morality police,” was a unit of Iran’s police force established under former hardline president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

    “Morality police have nothing to do with the judiciary,” and have been abolished, Attorney General Mohammad Jafar Montazeri said while answering a question from a participant at a religious conference.

    The announcement to disband the “morality police” came just a day after Montazeri told local reporters that “Both parliament and the judiciary are working [on the issue],” on whether the law requiring women to cover their heads needs to be changed.

    Following the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini in the custody of the morality police in September, the country has witnessed daily rallies, primarily spearheaded by women, calling for an end to the rule of hard-line clerics.

    Bangladesh is on track to have a $1 trillion economy by 2040, owing to consumer confidence, innovation in growing economic sectors, and a young, energetic workforce.

    According to a Boston Consulting Group (BCG) analysis released on Friday, the South Asian country has beaten rivals including India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, and Thailand with average annual growth of 6.4 per cent between 2016 and 2021.

    The domestic consumer market in Bangladesh is expected to expand to be the ninth-largest in the world. The survey also noted that between 2020 and 2025, a quickly growing middle class and wealthy class are expected to increase significantly, with a thriving gig economy supporting a workforce where the average age is only 28, according to Bloomberg.

    “The country could have easily been overshadowed by its neighbor to the northeast — China — or its continental cousin to the west — India — but in this region of economic powerhouses, Bangladesh stands tall,” BCG wrote.

    In 2015, Bangladesh moved up the income scale from poor to lower-middle income. Bangladesh’s GDP per capita is already larger than its neighbour, even though it is five years later than India. By 2031, the country hopes to reach upper middle income status.

    Some obstacles still exist. According to BCG, recent liquidity problems, as well as pressures from foreign exchange and inflation, could shorten growth. However, Bangladesh has made steps to prepare its $416 billion economy for a prosperous few decades, provided it keeps its average growth rate around 5 per cent.

    According to a BCG survey study, 57 per cent of respondents “continue to feel that, especially as the nation shifts to a skill-based economy, the next generation would have better lifestyles than themselves.”

    “Though the economy faces some near-term volatility, we are confident that this highly resilient economy will continue to demonstrate robust growth in the long term,” the report said.

    Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan asked his party members to get ready for elections as Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) assemblies will be dissolved this month

    In an address to the Parliamentary Party of KP, Imran asked party workers to prepare for elections and begin campaigning in their constituencies. “Whether they [the government] come towards elections or not, we will be dissolving the assemblies this month and moving towards elections.”

    He reiterated that PTI is only ready to talk to the coalition leader on elections, warning that he will otherwise dissolve the assemblies in the provinces where his party was in power.

    He also said that Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Pervaiz Elahi had given him the go-ahead to dissolve the assembly. “He has said he is standing with me and would dissolve assemblies on my call,” he emphasized.

    Moreover, Imran warned that “if something happens to [PTI senator] Azam Swati, we will go after everyone responsible for arresting him”.

    Imran further said that the people who took Swati to Quetta had turned Pakistan’s justice system into a “joke”.

    “I am once again saying this with great respect to the judiciary, if you won’t protect the rights [of people] then who will,” he asked senior judges.

    Imran then instructed all his party members and supporters to come out to protest against Swati’s arrest.

    On Saturday, the government turned down Khan’s invitation to parleys for early elections, arguing threats and talks could not go together.
