A female sub-inspector Mary Rose has committed suicide in Rahim Yar Khan allegedly over domestic issues.
Her last words were: “Dua krna meri jaan aasani se nikal jaye, Meri betiyou ki Shaadi kisi insaan se karna., jo unki zimdari utha sake”(Please pray that my soul is taken away peacefully. Marry my daughters to a human who can take responsibility).
Family members of Rose have blamed the senior police officers of the district for her act. Rose’s grandfather, Hadayat Masih, told reporters at his home on Thursday that she was depressed because she had not been granted wedlock transfer or leave.
However, SP Investigation Captain (retd) Mohammad Dost refuted the claims that Rose took the step after her leave request was denied, saying that the department had no clue that Rose was going through such pain, adding that the department would have done something to help her. Dost stated that the police officer left a message before committing suicide in which she stated unequivocally that the reason for her suicide was domestic issues.
“She used to put additional effort in every case, used to lead by example and also used to take care of their issues by contacting higher officials”, said the SP while talking about the deceased soul.
The SP claimed that Rose came to his office the day before her suicide to pick up a cheque and was very calm.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry said on Friday that the government would file a reference in the Supreme Court, asking it to interpret Article 63 (A) of the Constitution.
The minister took to Twitter and in a series of tweets said, “The Supreme Court will be asked about the legal status of the vote of party members when they are clearly involved in horse-trading and changed their loyalties in exchange for money.”
Fawad said that the government would seek the apex court’s guidance on whether a person, who shifts loyalty for monetary benefit, should be ineligible for lifetime to become a lawmaker or whether they could contest polls again and be elected to parliament.
“The Supreme Court will be requested to hear the case on a daily basis,” he said.
Fawad’s words come a day after several Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers, who were staying at the Sindh House in Islamabad, revealed that they were in the Opposition camp now.
Article 65-A
According to Article 63 (A) of the Constitution, a parliamentarian can be disqualified on grounds of defection if he “votes or abstains from voting in the House contrary to any direction issued by the parliamentary party to which he belongs, in relation to election of the prime minister or chief minister; or a vote of confidence or a vote of no-confidence; or a money bill or a Constitution (amendment) bill”.
The article says that the party head has to declare in writing that the MNA concerned has defected but before making the declaration, the party head will “provide such member with an opportunity to show cause as to why such declaration may not be made against him”.
After giving the member a chance to explain their reasons, the party head will forward the declaration to the speaker, who will forward it to the chief election commissioner (CEC). The CEC will then have 30 days to confirm the declaration. If confirmed by the CEC, the member “shall cease to be a member of the House and his seat shall become vacant”.
The government has already indicated that it will use Article 63 (A) to “crush” the no-confidence motion against PM Imran.

The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) condemned Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) Dr Shahbaz Gill’s use of foul language towards his fellow party member of National Assembly (MNA) Ramesh Kumar.
HRCP is revolted by politician @SHABAZGIL‘s crass choice of words for his colleague @RVankwani. This in no way represents freedom of expression and anchor @FrontlineKamran should not have brushed the abuse aside as ‘Mr Gill’s temper’. pic.twitter.com/hNrJ1psg8p

During Dunya News‘ programme “On the Front with Kamran Shahid” on Thursday, Gill verbally abused Kumar multiple times, paying no heed to the fact that he was speaking on national television.
Earlier in the day, Kumar announced that he is “no longer associated with the party”.
In a tweet, HRCP said it is “revolted by Shahbaz Gill’s crass choice of words for his colleague Kumar”.
“What should have been a civilised debate on a politically critical issue crumbled into a litany of abuse.” HRCP also criticised anchor Kamran Shahid for ignoring such a serious matter.
Another member of the ruling party MNA Aliya Hamza called Sindh House a “brothel” on Dawn News‘ programme “News Eye” hosted by anchorperson Absa Komal.
Both Gill and Aliya’s words came after it was revealed that around 24 disgruntled members of the PTI were staying at the Sindh House who are likely to vote on no-confidence motion against Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan despite their party’s decision to “not vote”.
British High Commissioner to Pakistan Christian Turner said that Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa was looking for concessions—among them, the restoration of the Article 35A of India’s Constitution, which gave the state of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir the right to designate “permanent residents” entitled to purchase land, writes Praveen Swami for The Print. The British High Commissioner was speaking at a gathering in New Delhi.
The news report further states that the Pakistan army chief believes he has helped New Delhi by controlling jihadists and thus ensuring violence in Kashmir remains at historically low levels.
“The General, in his telling of events to British interlocutors, has resisted pressure from hawks to escalate in Kashmir—among them, Prime Minister Imran Khan,” writes the news outlet.

Vice-President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Rajeev Shukla yesterday responded to Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan’s tweet about the current political situation of Pakistan.
Congratulating Pakistan Captain Baber Azam for his performance in the second Test match against Australia, PM Khan hinted at horse-trading by the Opposition parties in his tweet. “Unfortunately I could not watch this match as I am fighting on another front against match fixing where huge amounts of money are being used to lure my players!”
However, Rajeev Shukla misunderstood Imran Khan’s tweet and wrote, “ICC anti-corruption should take cognisance of this statement and coming from a prime minister who was also a legend cricketer.”
Shukla also tagged International Cricket Council (ICC) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in the tweet.
Rajeev, after receiving many comments pointing out that PM Khan’s tweet was about the current political situation in Pakistan, deleted his tweet and said that he was “being sarcastic”.
“I was also being sarcastic on Imran Khan tweet of political match-fixing on the eve of Holi which is known for humour and colours. Bura na mano holi hai,” wrote Shukla.

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Noor-ul-Haq Qadri has written a letter to Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan and has proposed different guidelines for Ramzan transmission.
“I would like to draw your kind attention to a very sensitive issue which has been observed since last few years that various TV channels telecast Ramzan transmission in the holy month of Ramzan. During these transmissions, different programs/shows are anchored/presented by a number of hosts who due to lack of proper Islamic Education hardly qualify to anchor/present such programs. As a result, different controversies are created and the general public rush to social media trolling such content and also complain to this ministry as well as the other authorities.”
In order to foil the emergence of such controversies, the following guidelines have been proposed for Ramzan transmission for observance by all media channels:
Religious programs during Ramzan Transmissions shall be anchored/presented only by religiously well-versed and educated persons
Anchor/presenter and all the participants shall follow modesty in their dress code and appearance to honour the sanctity of the holy month of Ramzan
No person shall be allowed to discuss controversial religious or sectarian issues. Sanctity of religious personalties of all sects/religious communists must be ensured
Game shows or recreational stuff shall not be aired immediately before or after Sehar/Iftar timings, moreover, the games and such stuff may not be part of religious programs
Promotion of religious/sectarian harmony and propagation of Islamic teachings shall be the prime focus of Ramzan transmissions
Unethical/ immoral stuff, activity and advertisement shall not be telecast during the holy month of Ramzan
Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has said that the decision to summon a National Assembly (NA) session would be taken by NA Speaker Asad Qaiser and not Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan.
The minister while speaking with Dawn News said that the possible action against what he termed ‘Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) turncoats’, would be that, “PM Khan has decided to de-seat them before voting on the no-trust motion.”
The minister’s comments came after around 24 members of the PTI were reportedly found to be staying at the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) run Sindh House.
After the news became public on Thursday, PM Khan called a meeting attended by Attorney General of Pakistan Khalid Javed Khan and the NA Speaker.
The premier directed Qaiser to commence the sitting of the lower house on March 21 and take action against “PTI’s possible turncoats”.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) said that it is empowered to take action only after receiving a declaration from the NA speaker about the members voting against party policy or crossing the floor.
In a joint press conference with the information minister and Energy Minister Hammad Azhar, PTI Secretary General Asad Umar said that PM Khan could also throw money at Opposition lawmakers, but would not do so because he does not stand for the “politics of blackmailing and bribery”.
“Imran Khan is in politics not for himself, but for the nation,” he added. He also claimed some opposition MNAs were also in close contact with the government.
“We want to make it clear that we will not do any deals and will not disburse ministries to stay in power. We will remain engaged with our allies but there will be no wheeling and dealing,” said Azhar.
Not everything about Bollywood actor Karisma Kapoor’s personal life was a bed full of roses. The actress was shining bright on the professional front, but on the personal front, she was struggling to get hold of her life.
The Biwi No.1 star once revealed that her ex-husband Sunjay Kapur auctioned her on their honeymoon night, also told that her life after marriage changed completely
After her breakup with Abhishek Bachchan, with whom she was engaged to get married, Karisma tied the knot with businessman Sunjay Kapur in an arranged marriage set up. However, within few years since they got married, trouble started brewing between the two.
Karisma shared a disturbing story of their honeymoon. She said during their honeymoon, he (Sunjay) forced her to sleep with his friends. And when she said ‘NO’, he beat her up and even quoted her price to one of his friends.
She also alleged that Sanjay was not complying with financial commitments. To that, Sunjay also claimed that Karisma married him only for money.
Karisma and Sunjay got married in 2003 in a grand way and after 11 years of their marriage, the actress filed for divorce in 2014, and they parted way. Their divorce battle was ugly with both Karisma and Sunjay levelling nasty allegations against each other. Karisma also filed a dowry harassment case against Sunjay and his mother Rani.
Not just that, during one of the court hearings for the case, Karisma made a shocking allegation against Sunjay. The actress claimed that once her mother-in-law gifted her a dress but because she was pregnant, she couldn’t fit into the dress. Seeing the same, Sunjay asked his mother to slap her. Karisma stated that Sunjay looked at his mom and told her, “Why don’t you just slap her?”
Karisma also blamed Sunjay for his philandering lifestyle and living with another woman and said that his mother supported all his doings. The actress claimed that Sunjay was still in a physical relationship with his first wife, when they got married.
Karisma and Sunjay were legally battling to get the custody of both the kids and for the same, they washed their dirty linens in public.
The ex flames were granted divorce in 2016, with the former getting custody of their children.
Sunjay was granted occasional visits to his children, Samaira Kapoor and Kiaan Raj Kapoor.
During the divorce battle of Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur, the former had accused him for marrying her for her wealth while the latter had claimed the marriage to be a rebound for her broken engagement with Abhishek Bachchan. In a throwback interview with the Hindustan Times, Karisma’s father, Randhir Kapoor had revealed that he had never wanted his daughter to marry Sunjay Kapur.
He was quoted as saying, “Everyone knows our credentials. We are Kapoors. We don’t need to run after anyone’s money. We have been blessed with not only money, but our talent can support us for the rest of our lives. Sunjay is a third-class man. I never wanted Karisma marrying him. He has debauchery in his system and never cared for his wife. He has been giving bull*** to her, and living with another woman. The entire Delhi knows how he is. I would not like to say anything more than this.”
In the divorce petition, Sunjay Kapur had also claimed that Karisma Kapoor isn’t a good mother. On this, Randhir Kapoor had commented, “Everyone knows Karisma has always been a good mother. Her husband has been living with another woman. I was against this marriage since day one. The matter is sub judice and hence, I can’t comment further. Eventually, the entire truth will come out.” After a long legal battle, Karisma and Sunjay were granted divorce in 2016.
At present, both Sunjay and Karisma have moved on in their lives. While Sunjay is married to Priya Sachdev and the two have a son together. Karisma, on the other hand, was rumoured to be dating Sandeep Toshniwal, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
