Qureshi said, “I am warning you, honourable members of the Senate, listen and pay attention to what I am saying. Members of the Senate, the Leader of the Opposition is a compromised leader. Don’t rely on him.”

“Don’t you see a seasoned and respected parliamentarian like Raza Rabbani? Don’t you see a respected politician like Sherry Rehman sitting in your rows? He [Gilani] is compromised and a sellout,” said Qureshi.

On Monday, Gilani announced that he had submitted his resignation as Leader of the Opposition to his party. “In the end, I will say that I have already submitted my resignation to my party that I don’t want to be the Leader of the Opposition.”

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Miftah Ismail said that half of the people in the country think that Maryam Nawaz should be the next prime minister (PM) instead of Shehbaz Sharif.

Miftah, while speaking on a Geo News programme “Jashan-e-Cricket”, said that Nawaz Sharif should not return to the country. He also claimed that PM Imran Khan is not going to complete his tenure because the establishment and the government are not on the same page.

During the show, the former finance minister revealed that nowadays Mohammad Rizwan is his favourite cricketer and that he will support every team Rizwan plays for.

Miftah was asked about the number of ‘Cocomos’ (chocolate-filled round biscuits) in one packet, as his family owns Ismail Industries Limited. The PML-N leader said if they were in power today, the number of Cocomos would have been 5 in one packet (which is currently 4).

Shahzad Iqbal asked Miftah: “Would there be 7 Cocomos if people vote for you in the next elections?”

“Then don’t vote for us,” quipped Miftah.

Miftah Ismail also revealed that former PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is a miser. “Even more than me,” said Miftah.

Money Laundering: Sindh High Court stops FIA from taking action against TikToker Hareem Shah

The Sindh High Court on Monday stopped the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) from taking any action against TikTok star Hareem Shah related to an inquiry on money laundering charges till March 8.

Hareem’s counsel filed an urgent petition against the FIA’s investigation into a money laundering case on behalf of her husband, Syed Bilal Hussain Shah. After which the SHC issued a stay order.

Despite the FIA’s orders freezing the social media celebrity’s bank accounts, Hareem’s lawyer told the court that she wants to help the agency in the investigation but is afraid of being imprisoned when she returns from the United Kingdom.

Hareem would join the investigation as soon as she returns to Pakistan, according to the lawyer.

“No coercive action shall be taken against the petitioner till the next hearing,” the court remarked.

  • Zardari, Nawaz, Maulana have all been ruined by one man: Saleem Safi

Zardari, Nawaz, Maulana have all been ruined by one man: Saleem Safi

Senior journalist Saleem Khan Safi, while speaking on Geo News programme, ‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath’, said that there was one man who had ruined the politics for many in Pakistan. Safi was giving his analysis on the recent Senate fiasco after the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Amendment Bill 2021 was passed on January 28.

“Zaradri, Nawaz Sharif aur Maulana sub ki siyasat ko aik banday nay fail kar diya hai [One man has led to the failure of Zardari, Nawaz Sharif, and Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman’s politics],” Safi said alluding to Chairman of Senate Sadiq Sanjrani.

Safi went on to say that what happened in Senate on January 28 was a collective failure. “This is the failure of the Opposition that they could not devise a joint strategy against the government. This Opposition does not carry the traits of the Opposition. This entire matter was part of the script. It started with Yusuf Raza Gilani becoming the Leader of the Opposition, to the passing of various bills. Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari was the mastermind behind it all and he was the one who devised this script.”

“Sanjrani is our friend and a respected man. There was a time when he was in charge of the complaint cell in Gilani’s government. Giani played a role in the script prepared by Bilawal and former president Asif Ali Zardari. I will consider Gilani’s resignation as part of the script as well,” added Safi.

Senior journalist Fahd Husain, who also was part of the panel on the show, said, “This is very obvious that the Opposition was given a clear message that they will not block the [SBP Amendment] bill.”

Agreeing with Safi, Husain said that how the events unfolded themselves makes it very obvious that everything that happened was pre-planned. “The way all this happened and the way the people went missing, they did not turn up, I will say that this was done in a rather crude manner. The Opposition should have taken advantage of this scenario and should have said that the government got the bill passed in an illegitimate manner, they [Opposition] have now got all this on themselves.”

Husain further said that what happened in the Senate cannot be fully put on Pakistan People’s Party (PPP). He said that the mistrust built between Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) and PPP over Yusuf Raza Gilani becoming the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate is still there and we are witnessing history repeating itself.

Anchorperson Shahzeb Khanzada asked Safi if the Opposition was a threat to the government. Safi said that the entire fuss of the Opposition was mainly to prove that they actually are the Opposition. Just like Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), all this suits the PPP. If early elections take place, the PPP is of the view that they might not get to rule Sindh as well. “All these marches are just tactics to prove themselves as the Opposition,” said Safi.

“They [Oppostion] have not devised a concrete methodology towards their policies. We are ignoring the role of Sadiq Sanjrani in all this. If Zardari wants to rule completely, he should make Sanjrani chairman instead of Bilawal. If PDM wants success, they should make Sanjrani their leader,” said Safi.

  • ‘Feminists are after me’: Zarnish Khan clarifies her stance on early marriages

‘Feminists are after me’: Zarnish Khan clarifies her stance on early marriages

Actor Zarnish Khan recently appeared on The Current Life series. In the interview while talking about getting married at the age of 17, She said she would recommend marrying early because one is very flexible and adaptable at that age.

Zarnish khan’s statement went viral on Social media.

Zarnish has now posted a video to clarify her statement.  “Having an opinion is okay, however, imposing it on someone is absurd! Learn to be civil if you wanna co-exist in this twisted world. #EarlyMarriages #RecentStatement,” she captioned her video.

“So, very recently I made a statement in which I said I believe early marriages are good because its easy for you to adjust. All the feminists are after me, a lot of people have a lot of things to say about it,” she said in the video.

She continued by saying that marrying at an early age is not only good for women but men also. “I said that it’s good if you get married in an early age because it becomes easier for you to settle in.”

“Marriage is all about compromises, not from one side, I don’t say only for women but also for men. For that you need acceptability and patience that fades away with time. In that regard I think if it happens early, it’s not ridiculous.”

The Sun Yaara star added, “However, I also said everyone has a different mindset and by the end of the day it’s a personal choice. Whoever wants to marry whenever is fine, that’s it. I’m very civil that way, I feel that if I have a certain opinion about something, it’s okay, that’s just my opinion, that’s just how I feel. Maybe based on my experience, I don’t know there could be so many possible reasons for that, the way I think, right?”

“And same goes for everyone out there who’s going to see this message so it’s alright. It’s okay for me to have an opinion that I believe in, it works for me. I do not ask you to change yours and cheers on that. I hope we all learn a little something here,” she concluded her message.

  • Is Shahnawaz Dahani ‘overrated’? Divided battle rages on Twitter

Is Shahnawaz Dahani ‘overrated’? Divided battle rages on Twitter

Young pacer from Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Multan Sultans Shahnawaz Dahani on Monday failed to impress fans with his bowling figures and the recent spanking in the match against Quetta Gladiators pushed him in hot waters as Pakistani Twitter is discussing if Dahani is overrated.

Dahani was less accurate in the penultimate over and fortunate not to see more slot balls dispatched, leaking 15 in his six deliveries. While he conceaded 33 runs in his two overs.

We have collected some reactions of the Twitterati, where they are discussing that if the young pacer needs to improve his game while some are suggesting to give him another chance. Have a look:

David Willey’s last over wickets and Shan Masood’s 88-run knock sealed the deal for the Sultans. The Gladiators were smelling victory in the last over as they needed eight runs from six balls, but Willey did not let them get the better of the Sultans at the National Stadium.

Willey dismissed two players, Sohail Tanvir (13) and Naseem Shah (1) to take Sultans to a 6-run victory, as Gladiators were all-out at 168, with a ball remaining.

Khushdil Shah, Willey, and Imran Tahir picked up three wickets.

Earlier, in the match against Lahore Qalandars, the pacer from Larkana had conceaded 44 runs in his 4 overs, taking only one wicket.
