Adnan received a lot of blacklash for his role in breaking the bottles with many people calling out him on social media. However, at the same time Adnan Siddiqui’s act was praised by a large number of social media users.

    Two days later a picture of Adnan from the same day went viral, and has become the first viral meme of Pakistani social media in 2022.

    Abdullah Kadwani who is debuting as a lead opposite Kinza Hashmi, Haroon Kadwani’s father, is a well-known producer with projects like Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3 as well as the owner of 7th Sky Production Company.

    Meanwhile, actor Azaan Sami Khan starring opposite Sajal Aly and Yumna Zaidi in Ishq-e-Laa is the son of Pakistani actress Zeba Bakhtiar and legendary musician Adnan Sami.

    Also senior actor Naumaan Ijaz’s son Zaviyar is also being signed on by a leading channel for multiple projects despite lukewarm response to his acting debut in Qissa Meherbano Ka.

    Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives and head of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) Asad Umar has said that there was clear evidence that the fifth wave of COVID-19 had started in the country.

    “Clear evidence now of a beginning of another covid wave which has been expected for last few weeks. Genome sequencing showing rising proportion of omicron cases particularly in Karachi.”

    He also urged people to wear masks

    According to NCOC, people who got both doses of their coronavirus vaccine at least six months back and are 30 or above, are eligible for the booster jab.

    On December 13, the NCOC confirmed the first case of the Omicron variant in Pakistan.

    Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan during a discussion with top scholars on how the youth can be protected from the invasion of social media on faith, religious and ethical values said that corruption and sex crime s are two main evils of the Muslim world.

    “There are two sorts of crime in society, one is corruption and the other is a sex crime. Sex crime has risen sharply in our society, i.e. rape and child abuse, and only one per cent of this is reported,” said PM Khan.

    “The other 99 per cent, I believe, society has to fight it. The same is the case with corruption… society has to make corruption unacceptable. Unfor­tunately, when you have leadership which is corrupt over time, they make corruption acceptable,” he said.

    The prime minister stressed the need to save the Muslim youth from being inundated with obscenity and pornographic material available on the internet.

    Pakistan cricket team’s young pacer Mohammad Hasnain made a great start to his Big Bash League (BBL) career, for Sydney Thunder, with a triple wicket maiden in his very first over.

    The right-armer dismissed Matthew Short, Jake Weatherald and Jonathan Wells in a match against Adelaide Strikers.

    Hasnain finished with figures of 3/20 in his four overs.

    The pacer’s impressive spell played a key role in Thunder’s victory against Strikers by 28 runs.

    In 2019 Hasnain registered his name in record books as the youngest, 19 year-old-old bowler to take a hat-trick in a T20I match. The Hyderabad-born achieved that feat against Sri Lanka.

    In the same year, Hasnain stole the limelight in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) by bowling the fastest deliveries recorded in each competition. He bowled at 151 km/h for the Quetta Gladiators, and 155.1 km/h for Trinbago Knight Riders.

    Hasanin is representing Quetta Gladiators again in the seventh edition of the PSL. The tournament is set to begin from January 27.

    Police arrest men disguised in burqas harassing women in Lahore

    Police arrested two men disguised in burqas for harassing women on Sunday at Lahore’s Greater Iqbal Park, reports Geo News.

    According to the police, the two had worn burqas to hide their identities. They were also involved in harassing families that had come to visit the park.

    The superintendent of police (SP) of the anti-riot force has said that strict legal action will be taken against the culprits.

    Meanwhile, it is reported that both men have been transferred to the city’s Lari Adda police station.

    Earlier, a horrific incident had taken place at the Greater Iqbal Park where more than 400 men had attacked a woman named Aisha Akram on Independence Day.

    TikTok releases official statement on shooting incident in Karachi

    Video sharing platform, Tiktok has released an official statement on Friday regarding the recent shooting incident in Karachi. The incident involved the shooting of a man, Qamar Raza by three teenagers who were creating videos for the application.

    The incident took place on December 23, when teenagers were riding on the motorbike and one of them opened the fire on Raza for the ‘thrill’.

    Tiktok spokesperson condemned the incident in the statement, “The safety of our community is our top priority and we do not tolerate any dangerous acts, hate speech, or hateful behaviour. TikTok has zero-tolerance for firearms and we do not allow any content that depicts acts of violence.”

    He has given assurance that the application would remain observant to control the violent content and vowed to remove the videos that are against the guidelines of the community. He assured their commitment towards the safety of the users.

    Meanwhile, two suspects, Saeed Ahmed and Fazil Ali are currently in remand of the police custody. The other friend named Ismail has been on the run. Raids are been conducted to arrest him.

    Recently Tiktok has set up Urdu-language safety centre in Pakistan to ensure that the contents are within the guidelines of the country.

    Earlier on July 21, a boy had drowned in the Khanpur Dam while trying to take a selfie. The 20-year old was taking a selfie at the edge of the dam. According to details, a 20-year-old was attempting to take a selfie while standing at the edge of the dam when he suddenly lost his balance and fell into the dam.

    The Pakistan government banned Tiktok four times for the violent and vulgar content however it was lifted by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on November 19 after the assurance to control the immoral and violent content from the Tiktok management.

    Two TTP banned ‘terrorists’ arrested in Karachi, planning attacks

    Two terrorists allegedly belonging to the banned outfit Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were arrested on Monday, in Karachi during a raid.

    The two were planning attacks on multiple security officials in the city.

    According to Samaa, police have seized cracker bombs, fake passports, ball bearings, illegal arms, and detonators from their possession. The terrorists, identified as Razaullah alias Nasir and Habib Noor alias Sher Habib, joined the organisation in 2011 and 2008, respectively.

    Earlier, as per the media outlet a group of six TTP men entered Karachi.

    The police are currently interrogating the remaining terrorists. A senior official said, “The test is to locate and arrest the remaining four. The arrested suspects said that the Tashkeel [group] of six suspects was headed by a person namely Umar.”

    Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said that the increase in prices of petroleum products is Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan’s new year’s gift to the citizens and the only way to end inflation is to oust the premier himself.

    In a series of tweets shared by the PPP official Twitter handle, Bilawal said, “Imran Khan claimed that 2021 would be the year of prosperity, but 2022 has arrived, where have the claims gone.”

    The PPP leader’s statement comes after the government announced an Rs4 increase in petrol price.

    He stated that the country witnessed higher inflation than a year prior during Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) tenure, but they continue to blame previous governments labelling them as incompetent.

    Bilawal claimed that the PPP faced the worst economic crisis in the world’s history but did not let the citizens bear the brunt of the inflation.

    He urged the federal government to reduce the rates of petroleum products in line with international prices.

    The PPP chairperson stated that the only way to end inflation is to “oust Imran Khan.”
