    Actor Sidra Niazi celebrated her birthday on the sets of her forthcoming drama serial Badzaat. Celebrity friends including Imran Ashraf and Sharmila Faruqi wished the Qayamat diva on her special day.

    Co-stars Ali Abbas and Mehmood Aslam can be seen cheering her on-sets of her next biggie.

    In November, Sidra Niazi trended on social media for her latest successful campaign for a beauty and hair care product.

    Sidra has received back-to-back critical acclaim and commercial success with hit projects like Qayamat, Maqafat and Chupke Chupke. Her pairing with Haroon Shahid and Osman Khalid Butt have also been appreciated by netizens.

    On the acting front, Sidra will be seen next in Tumhare Husn Ke Naam opposite Imran Abbas and Asad Siddiqui, she also has a starring role in Geo TV’s Badzaat costarring Imran Ashraf.

    Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry, while addressing the media, praised the signing skills of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice president Maryam Nawaz and Leader of the Opposition in the Provincial Assembly of Punjab, Hamza Shehbaz.

    Fawad’s comments come in connection to the viral video of both Hamza and Maryam where they were singing at an event for Maryam’s son Junaid Safdar’s wedding.

    Maryam Nawaz sang ‘Chura Liya‘ in a melodious voice and Hamza too sang at the same event.

    Fawad, praising the singing skills of the Sharif family, said, “I really appreciate Hamza Shehbaz and Maryam Nawaz [for their singing skills].”

    “In our personal gatherings, we sing songs and we celebrate. It was nice to see them singing,” said Fawad.

    “It was nice to see this because normal Pakistan is exactly like this,” added Fawad.

    Fawad further said, “We have political differences with them, not personal ones.”

    Ayesha Omar reacts to public stripping and violent attack on four women in Pakistan

    Four women in Faisalabad were stripped naked and were beaten by locals on the accusation of theft. The incident took place on Monday, in Bawa Chak Market where dozens of people locked the women inside an electric shop. The women came there to drink water.

     A first information report (FIR) was registered and the suspects have been charged under sections 354-A (assault or use of criminal force against a woman and stripping her), 509 (insulting modesty or causing sexual harassment), 147 (punishment for rioting) and 149 (unlawful assembly guilty of an offence committed in prosecution of common object) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

     “They continued to beat us for around an hour and made our videos in naked condition,” the complainant said in FIR, as reported by Dawn.

    “The suspects committed gross injustice by stripping us, dragging us through the market and torturing us and strict action should be taken against them,” the complaint’s statement read in the FIR.

    As per reports, no one stopped people from beating the women and many were making videos from their phones. After the video went viral, the police took action against the accused people and arrested five people.

    Popular actress Ayesha Omar has responded to the incident on her social media handle.

    Filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid is being awarded for her efforts in directorial documentary films about women’s issues and their rights in Pakistan.

    On December 8, the organisation is holding an annual fundraiser at 6 pm EST(December 9 at 4 am as per Pakistan Standard Time, PST) where founder, Platon will celebrate Chinoy achievements and he will also screen his debut short film based on her.

    Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday said that from now on, no one will be spared who resorts to violence in the name of religion.

    PM Khan made these comments during an event that was being held in solidarity with Kumara’s family and the Sri Lankan nation and government.

    PM Imran had taken notice of Malik Adnan — Kumara’s colleague who had tried to save his life — and lauded Adnan for his “moral courage and bravery” on Sunday. He had also announced that Adnan would be honoured with the Tamgha-i-Shujaat.

    The ceremony was held to honour Adnan.

    Appreciating the efforts of Adnan, PM Khan said, “Role models are important in the country because people follow them,” adding that “moral power is greater than physical power”.

    “I am sure our youth will remember the way Malik Adnan stood up against those beasts.”

    The prime minister said that he established the Rehmatul-lil-Alameen Authority so that the entire nation could follow in the footsteps of Holy Prophet (PBUH).

    “But we are heading in a different direction,” he said as he called on the nation to read up on the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

    “Our country is the only one that was built in the name of Islam. But this incident has brought us embarrassment,” he said, adding that he received many messages from those living abroad.

    “People who are based overseas do not know what Islam is, and they distance themselves from the religion after seeing such incidents take place.”
