    Twitter bans posting pictures of individuals without their consent

    Microblogging site Twitter has updated its private information policy. Twitter has said it will not allow sharing of personal media such as photos and videos on its platform without the consent of the person.

    However, this policy is not applicable to media featuring public figures or individuals when media and accompanying Tweet text are shared in the public interest or add value to public discourse.

    “When we are notified by individuals depicted, or by an authorised representative, that they did not consent to having their private image or video shared, we will remove it,” the statement issued by the company read.

    Twitter already prohibited the publication of private information such as a person’s phone number or address, but there are “growing concerns” about the use of content to “harass, intimidate and reveal the identities of individuals,” said the company.

    Twitter also noted a “disproportionate effect on women, activists, dissidents, and members of minority communities.”

    On November 29, Jack Dorsey announced his resignation and confirmed that his replacement was Indian-born Parag Agrawal. Dorsey will remain a member of the board until his term expires in May 2022 and assist Parag with the transition.

    Singer Asim Azhar will soon be releasing his first song from his upcoming album. “Ladies and gentlemen, I have waited so long for this moment and finally — my first single from my first album [will be] releasing very soon!” wrote Asim while sharing the teaser of the song which features Fahad Mustafa and Saba Qamar.

    One of Asim’s comments caught our attention, in which the singer has said, “No matter how far people go with their actions, or try to stir up controversy to gain some attention. For me, my work will always come first.” However, the Galat Fehmi singer has not mentioned any names under his post but after Hania Aamir’s appearance in his concert, we are in position to make a guess that the comment he made was about his alleged ex.

    Hania, in a video circulating on social media, can be seen grooving to Asim’s songs at one of his recent concerts.

    “We exist because of the work, your love exists because of the work. With that being said, we have put in a lot of hard work, blood and sweat into this. and I really hope you all enjoy it as much. Love you,” he also added to the post.

    Asim Azhar and Hania Aamir allegedly dated for a significant period, but the couple later separated without making any official announcement. The alleged couple made it to the news again this year in June. When Hania Aamir was receiving a lot backlash from her fans on posting a video with the Wajahat brothers, Asim took to his Twitter account to post a GIF that people assumed was directed towards Hania.

    After Asim’s tweet, Hania tweeted, “You can either be a celebrity or a bitter ex with no dignity.”

    Asim in a separate tweet posted a long note and said, “aur ab sab kuch kar ke victim ban rahe hain.”

    Hania Aamir then posted another long note saying that it is not “ex vs ex debate” adding that for her its about “abuse vs the abuser.”

    Asim Azhar is now allegedly dating model and actor Meerub Ali.

    NCOC approves booster shot for healthcare workers, those over 50 and immunocompromised people

    National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Wednesday approved a booster shot of Covid-19 vaccines for healthcare workers, those aged over 50 years, and immunocompromised people.

    A meeting of the NCOC, chaired by Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives and NCOC chief Asad Umar, announced to have launched a special vaccination drive in the country from today, December 1.

    The NCOC said that the vaccination teams will remain present at public places to ensure the vaccination of each and every individual.

    “People will be vaccinated on the spot if found unvaccinated,” it said.

    Provincial health ministers and chief secretaries gave presentations during the meeting, highlighting initiatives taken to boost the vaccination campaign, improve testing numbers and establish call centres.

    “All provinces will start vaccination outreach campaigns immediately to [achieve] the vaccination targets,” the statement added.

    The forum instructed the provincial representatives to focus on the spread of the new variant, Omicron.

    Imad Wasim wishes Babar ‘good luck’ for PSL 7 as Karachi Kings’ captain

    Pakistani cricketer and former captain of Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Karachi Kings, Imad Wasim, has extended his good wishes to the newly appointed captain of the franchise, Babar Azam, for the upcoming seventh edition.

    Taking to Twitter, Imad thanked Salman Iqbal, saying: “I want to take a minute to thank @Salman_ary bhai and the whole @KarachiKingsARY family for entrusting me with the captaincy for 4 seasons! It’s been wonderful n I look forward to even bigger things for the team in the future.”

    Wishing well to the the all-format skipper Babar, he said: “Gudluck and best wishes to my brother @babarazam258.”

    Cricketer Umar Akmal also congratulated his cousin.

    The Kings, under the leadership of Imad Wasim, clinched their first PSL title in 2020.

    The seventh edition of PSL will be held in January and February 2022 with all matches taking place in Pakistan.

    Both Lahore and Karachi will host 17 matches each, with the finals to be played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

    Actor Syra Yousuf has opened up about her experience being a single mother. She recently appeared in an interview, in which she was asked about the challenges she has to face.

    “Shahroz and I, we make sure that we co-parent Nooreh so the other parent is never absent. He is very much involved, his parents, Nooreh’s grandparents are very much involved,” she said.

    The actor further shared, “I have that support so I don’t think that I feel the challenges of a single mother.”

    Earlier this year in September, Shahroz Sabzwari praised Syra for raising their daughter Nooreh well.

    Syra and Shahroz tied the knot in 2012 after a long on-off relationship which began in 2006. The celebrity couple separated in late 2019 and later confirmed their divorce in February 2020. The very same year later, Shahroz tied the knot with model Sadaf Kanwal.

    On the work front, Syra can be seen in the ISPR sponsored drama serial Sinf-e-Aahan. Written by Umera Ahmed and helmed by Nadeem Baig, Sinf-e-Aahan airs on ARY Digital.

    Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza, who is also Pakistani superstar cricketer Shoaib Malik’s wife, visited Sports Board Punjab’s State of the Art Tennis Stadium in Nishtar Park Sports Complex (NPSC) Lahore on Tuesday and played tennis with Pakistani tennis star Aisam-ul-Haq.

    On her visit, Sania played practice tennis matches for one and a half hour with Pakistan’s international tennis stars Aisam-ul-Haq and Aqeel Khan.

    On the occasion, Sania appreciated the top standard facilities provided at SBP Tennis Stadium. “SBP Stadium is equipped with all modern facilities and it will help a lot in producing several top class tennis players in future,” she added.

    The 35-year-old athlete said Pakistan has plenty of tennis talent and SBP’s tennis stadium and academy are playing key roles in further nurturing the emerging male and female tennis players.

    Her visits to Karachi and Lahore have grabbed the attention of the Shoaib-Sania fans.

    In one of the videos shared earlier, she praised the taste of Karachi’s biryani. “Though I am from Hyderabad in India, the taste of Karachi’s biryani is the best.”

    Man jumps off 3rd floor of a Karachi mall, commits suicide due to unemployment

    A young man has committed suicide by jumping from the third floor of a mall in Karachi. As per Jang, 27-year-old Zuhair Asim had been unemployed for a very long time.

    According to the details, the deceased was the resident of Ancholi and was the eldest of four siblings.

    FB Industrial Area Station House Officer (SHO) Jamil Abbasi has said that the man likely committed suicide due to unemployment. “He was taken to a private hospital in Karachi’s Gulshan-i-Iqbal area where he was pronounced dead,” the official added.

    In a Facebook post, the management of the mall termed it as an “unfortunate incident.” The statement further said that “an individual jumped before he could be stopped”.

    “The mall authorities immediately took him to the nearest hospital and informed the police, who are now investigating the case,” the statement added.

    Earlier this month, Muhammad Faheem, a former employee of a private media news organisation, committed suicide after being fired from his job. As per reports, he committed suicide due to continuing financial problems.

    It is pertinent to mention here that inflation in Pakistan has increased to 11.5 per cent from 9.2 per cent, the highest increase in the past 20 months influenced by a record hike in fuel prices last month.

    Charles, Prince of Wales, has reportedly approached his legal team over controversial claims made in a book about the skin colour of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s child Archie.

    A book titled “Brothers And Wives: Inside the Private Lives of William, Kate, Harry and Meghan” written by Christopher Andersen claims that in the British Royal household, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, were the ones who raised concerns about Archie’s skin colour before his birth. However, Clarence House has denied the claim, reports Page Six.

    The book alleges that Charles asked Camilla over breakfast: “I wonder what the children will look like?’’ [alluding to Archie].

    There have been numerous reports that Charles, who is heir to the British throne, has discussed this issue with a team of lawyers.

    Previously, Meghan in an interview with Oprah Winfrey revealed that when she was pregnant, a member of the Royal Family had gone to Harry with “concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he was born”.

    Cabinet rejects audit report of Rs40 billion irregularities detected in PM’s Covid package

    Minister of Information Fawad Chaudhry on Tuesday rejected the recently released audit report, which shows Rs40 billion irregularities detected in PM’s Covid package.

    “The cabinet rejected the audit report on Covid-19 spending and asked three relevant organisations to give their presentations in this regard,” revealed Fawad in a press conference after the cabinet meeting.

    Fawad said the finance ministry had already rejected the audit report and prime minister’s aide Dr Sania Nishtar had also clarified the position of her organisation, Ehsaas programme.

    The audit report was released last week as Pakistan gave in to the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) pressure by releasing the audit report of expenditures incurred on Covid-19.

    The release of the report by the Ministry of Finance was one of the five prior actions that the IMF has asked Pakistan to implement if it wanted to get the $1 billion loan tranche by January next year.

    Sindh Bar Council Secretary, Irfan Ali Mehr, 40-year-old was shot dead in Karachi on Wednesday morning near his residence in Gulshan-e-Jauhar, reports Dawn News.

    In the morning, he left his house to drop his daughter at school. He was driving near Chappal Plaza in Block 13 of Gulistan-i- Jauhar when two armed men on a motorcycle opened the fire and shot multiple times.

    His body was moved to the hospital, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for post-mortem investigation.

    The Police reached the crime scene and sealed it from the public. They [police] collected closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the crime scene.

    CCTV footage clearly reveals that the perpetrators were wearing helmets, stopped Irfan’s car, and then shot him at point-blank range. The shooters managed to flee successfully from the spot.

    Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Qamar Raza Jiskani said that it was likely to be a targeted killing, however, the real motive would be found out after a thorough investigation.

    The bar council showed their condolences on the loss.  The lawyers across Sindh boycotted the city courts today against the attack and demanded the assailant should be arrested immediately.
