  • Pakistani students’ formula car gets second position in intl competition

    Pakistani students designed a Formula Electric car, which won the second position in a competition held in Russia’s capital city Moscow, ARY News reported.

    As per details, the team consisted of 35 engineering students from a private university. The Pakistani team was a runner-up in the competition in which 20 teams participated.

    Uzair Mudassir and Saad Ahmed, who were part of the team, said in ARY’s morning show ‘Bakhabar Savera’ that designing the car was a learning curve for them and they want to show a positive image of Pakistan to the world.

    They said that technology is evolving every day and it was important for them to represent Pakistan on a global scale.

    Uzair Mudassir mentioned that they wanted the world to know that Pakistan has many students who are skilled in the field and have a passion to move forward.

  • PM Imran Khan to address UNGA on Kashmir, Afghanistan issues today

    Prime Minister Imran Khan will address the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) today. His speech is going to focus on raising his voice against Indian atrocities in Occupied Kashmir and speak about the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.

    The prime minister will speak at 1:30am Pakistan Standard Time (PST) on September 25 [4:30 pm, September 24, Eastern Standard Time]. As per reports, the prime minister is seventh on the list of speakers to address the UNGA today in the afternoon session.

    The premier’s policy address will serve to enhance Pakistan’s diplomatic outreach and engagement with its international partners and key institutions.

    Celebrity BFFs Ayesha Omar and Azfar Rehman will soon be seen together in upcoming drama serial ‘Bisaat’, produced by Momina Duraid, it also features Mirza Zain Baig and Anmol Baloch.

    The Bulbulay diva stated in a recent interview, “I didn’t have a time for a committed serial but when ‘Bisaat’ came along, things just fell into place. The drama, Fahim Burney directorial has an ensemble cast, which means that no one actor or actress bears the burden of the entire serial. The work is equally divided amongst everyone and all characters have an equal presence in the show, the character offered to me is very interesting that I couldn’t say no.”

    Actor-Singer Farhan Saeed and Khaani star Sana Javed are set to feature together in HUM TV’s upcoming drama serial Kaala Doriya. Writer  Saima Chaudhry of Suno Chanda and Chupke Chupke fame has written the serial.

    ‘My friends are dead,’ Iraq war veteran blasts former US President Bush in public

    Mike Prysner, a veteran of the United States invasion of Iraq, in a viral video publicly called out the former US President George W. Bush.

    The video has been making rounds on social media since late Monday. “You lied about Iraq being a threat. You sent me there in 2003. My friends are dead just because of you,” shouted Prysner who was interrupted by Bush telling him to “sit and behave.”

    “You need to apologise,” Prysner managed to add before being forcibly removed by staff.

    An individual from the audience stood up and said to the former president, “You made a nightmare for my family. One million Iraqis are dead from your war. You should be in prison.”

    Approximately 200,000 civilians have died from direct war-related violence caused by the US in Iraq. According to the Washington Post, about 6 in 10 civilian deaths occurred at the hands of coalition forces from 2003 to 2011. There were 4,431 total deaths of American forces as per the US Department of Defense website.

    In March 2003, U.S. forces invaded Iraq vowing to destroy Iraqi weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and end the dictatorial rule of Saddam Hussein.

    Man gets arrested for ‘sextortion’ after FBI complains to FIA

    An inquiry was registered upon information received from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), United States of America (USA), via Child Pornography Cell of Cybercrime wing Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), about a person residing in Hayatabad, Peshawar. As per the complaint, he was blackmailing and sexually extorting a minor female child in Virginia, USA.

    A raid was conducted and the alleged culprit, Anas Farooq s/o Farooq Ahmad, was arrested and their mobile phones were seized.

    The accused was interrogated and he admitted that he had got illegal access to the minor victim’s Snapchat account and later found her nude picture in her compromised Snapchat account.

    He further admitted that he used the explicit pictures to blackmail her and was involved in sextortion.

    The prime suspect in Noor Mukadam case, Zahir Jaffer and six other suspects appeared in court today for the hearing of the bail petitions filed by Zahir Jaffer’s parents Zakir Jaffer and Asmat Adamjee, Geo News has reported. As per details, the Islamabad High Court will indict 12 persons in the Noor Mukadam case on October 6.

    Noor’s father, Shaukat Mukadam’s lawyer Advocate Shah Khawar, said in court that as per the provisions of the presidential ordinance, the murder case should be held in a special court.

    A Twitter user shared videos of Zahir and his father Zakir Jaffer coming to the district and sessions court of Islamabad for the hearing. Zahir Jaffer and Zakir Jaffer were presented with the police challan today. In one of the videos, Zahir can be seen “skimming it without reading it through.”

    A man in his 40s allegedly stripped naked and walked around in an Egyptian village to win a bet from a friend, Gulf News reported.

    The villagers tried to cover him up but the man refused to get covered, leading people to question his mentality and motives.

    “Children gathered around him as he walked naked across the village. People thought he had been caught doing something immoral and had not enough time to put on his clothes,” Mohammed told Egyptian newspaper Al Watan.

    “The scene was nauseating. He prevented anyone from covering him. He refused to put on any clothes,” added the witness.

    Later, he received 25,000 Egyptian pounds from a person who had earlier made a bet with him. “He then sat down while still naked in front of his house, counting the money,” Mohammed said.

    “He is not a poor person,” Nabil Awwad, another local of the village, said. “The alleged offender owns a flock of sheep worth thousands of pounds,” he told Egyptian news portal Masrawy.

    “What struck our attention was that whenever we tried to cover him with clothes, he took them off, insisting to continue walking naked,” Awwad added.

    The act forced the village’s shocked women to stay indoors, the portal said.

    Responding to the comment, the Khatakaar actor said: “Wasn’t in favour of it myself but sometimes the on air pressure and then the team’s pressure makes you give in.”

    The Gustakh Dil diva took to her Instagram and shared a video of the drama saying that the ending was something she did not personally agree with. But as an actress, she had to comply with the team and stick to their decision “as they know better!”

    She also thanked her fans for supporting her throughout the drama’s telecast.

    Azmaish also starred Fahad Sheikh and Kinza Hashmi alongside Yashma.

  • Sexual harassment incidents up by 300% in Lahore

    Since the Minar-e-Pakistan incident, the number of sexual harassment cases has increased up to 300 per cent in Lahore.

    A police report stated that during the past 1.5 months, 642 cases of sexual harassment were registered under sections 354, 354-A and 509-B as compared to the number of incidents up to less than 150 that had been reported before August 14, reports ARY News.

    Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Shariq Jamal Khan said that the ratio of harassment cases was high in the past but previously people used to avoid registering cases.

    He added that the actions related to the accused in the incident of Greater Iqbal Park have encouraged the women to report such cases. He said that the authorities will take strict action in such cases.

    Pakistan T20 World Cup team met Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday. The cricketers were motivated after having a pep-talk with the premier.

    Taking to their social media, Pakistani cricketers expressed their joy at meeting Imran Khan.

    “Had a great meeting with the PM. Always a pleasure to learn from legend of the game himself,” wrote the captain of Pakistan cricket team Babar Azam on Twitter.

    Mohammad Hafeez took to his Twitter and wrote: “Always inspirational to meet my Hero & PM of our country @ImranKhanPTI. Pakistan Zindabad.”

    “An absolute pleasure to have attended a meeting with Prime Minister,” wrote pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi.
