  • Senator Rehman Malik tags ‘Uno’ game instead of UN in Tweet

Senator Rehman Malik tags ‘Uno’ game instead of UN in Tweet

Senior Pakistan People’s Party leader and Senator Rehman Malik has made a hilarious social media blunder.

While criticising Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not allowing the opposition delegation to visit Indian occupied Kashmir, Malik mistakenly tagged the UNO game instead of the United Nations.

In case you didn’t know Uno is a multiplayer card game.

What’s even more surprising is that Malik did not delete the tweet and is seemingly unaware of his gaffe.

The former interior minister has been openly criticising the Modi government for their atrocities in Kashmir and has even written a letter to the Office of United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in this matter. The senator has demanded that the UNHCR constitute a parliamentary committee consisting of parliamentarians from different countries and make them visit Indian Held Kashmir (IHK) and observe the worst kind of human rights violations there.

  • Is Mohsin Abbas Haider getting married again?

Is Mohsin Abbas Haider getting married again?

Mohsin Abbas Haider, who was only last month accused of domestically abusing and cheating on his wife, is reportedly tying the knot with Nazish Jahangir. Nazish is the same woman with whom Mohsin’s wife, Fatima, had accused of having an affair.

The speculations came to light when a fan page in a social media post referred to Nazish and Mohsin as the “Best couple soon.” Under the picture, Nazish commented, “Soon inshaAllah.”

Mohsin proceeded to like Nazish’s comments fueling rise to speculations that the two may indeed be tying the knot.

In an explosive account posted to social media on July 21, Mohsin’s wife, Fatema Sohail, had come forward with accusations of cheating and domestic abuse against the actor-singer. Fatema alleged that in November 2018, she caught Mohsin cheating on her and when she confronted him, “instead of being embarrassed he started beating” her even though she was pregnant at that time. Luckily her child survived and Fatema said that she moved past the incident for the sake of her child. She continued that her childbirth was a complicated process but Mohsin never supported her and was instead, busy having an affair with an emerging model.

At that time, Nazish had denied all the allegations and said that was being unnecessarily dragged into the couple’s marital issues. She said that the entire episode left her mentally shattered and she has no idea why Fatema dragged into this, especially because she considered Fatema to be a friend and well-wisher.

Mohsin and Fatema tied the knot in 2015. Their son Haider was born earlier this year in May.

  • You’ll be surprised to know who’s a fan of the Butterfly

You’ll be surprised to know who’s a fan of the Butterfly

The Diary of a Social Butterfly, a regular feature in The Friday Times, by Moni Mohsin gives us the comic relief we so often need. The Butterfly was such a smashing hit that Moni wrote three books – The Diary of a Social Butterfly, Tender Hooks and The Return of the Butterfly – on her adventures.

While all of us here in Pakistan are big fans of the character and the books, it turns out that the Butterfly is winning hearts across the border as well. Wonder what she has to say on that.

Former Bollywood actor and author Twinkle Khanna is a fan of Moni Mohsin’s Tender Hooks and she took to social media to praise the book.

Twinkle herself has authored three bestsellers: Mrs Funnybones, The Legend Of Lakshmi Prasad and Pyjamas Are Forgiving.

Tender Hooks follows the Butterfly as she “schemes her way through shaadis, GTs (oho baba, Get Togethers!), and kitty parties trying to find a suitable girl from the right bagground,” for her divorced cousin Jokers.

  • No corruption found in Rawalpindi-Islamabad metro project

No corruption found in Rawalpindi-Islamabad metro project

An audit by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) into the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Service has failed to find any irregularities in the process of the project’s development, The Express Tribune reported Monday.

According to reports, a team led by Punjab Works director-general (DG) conducted the audit, and PAC has so far reviewed some 53 audit papers while the Special Departmental Accounts Committee (SDAC) has reviewed around 97.

However, the authorities have found no evidence of corruption so far.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led government last year in September had ordered the audit of all the metro bus projects started by the former ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi-Islamabad.

Jailed ex-prime minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif had laid the foundation of the 23 km project in March 2014.

The project in twin cities initially was estimated to cost Rs44.8 billion, however, the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) had revised the cost of project downwards by Rs285.4 million to Rs44.56 billion.
