Bigg Boss 18 1 November 2024: Alice in Tears After Knowing What His Boyfriend Said in Interview

The shocking moments continued on the Bigg Boss 18 1 November 2024 episode, even after the Diwali special episode. Salman Khan greeted the audience and the house contestants, saying Happy Diwali to them. Tiger actor Rajat Dalal and contestant Alice Kaushik were two housemates shown on a camera answering the question. Salman said that the housemate, Rajat Dalal, is entirely dysfunctional and does not care what Alice does in this game. He also stated that she’s been quite theatrically overreacting to many minor issues.

As the most exciting controversy in this Bigg Boss 18 1 November 2024 episode, the host broke the news that Kanwar Dhillon denied the proposal story. Salman said Kanwar had publicly stated during an interview that he never intended to marry Alice when he asked her out. Kanwar Dhillon is an actor and her boyfriend. The actress was left heartbroken and crying after this. Seeing him accept that Kanwar is her world left millions seeking answers. When both met during the shooting for the new television serial, which started their love saga, the audience lavished them for their on-screen chemistry. The pair was again seen posting pictures with each other on their respective Instagram accounts.

Inside the Bigg Boss 18 house, the actress stated, “Meri puri life hi voh insaan hai” (That guy is my whole life).

In addition, she stressed that she only accepted Kanwar’s proposal because he had expressed his desire to marry her and settle down with her.

Realizing that her boyfriend said, “Alice aur me nahi yaar, maine shaadi ka nahi bola,” Alice was taken aback and burst into tears. Talking about such statements with her friends in the Bigg Boss 18 house, she revealed that her mind went blank. She was in pain as she listened to her boyfriend’s statement. Considering she was upset, her friends told her not to worry and that she could speak to him outside the Big Brother house.

The Bigg Boss 18 1 November 2024 episode was as emotional for many fans as the Alice crying scene. Geo Super quoted sources saying that ASP Shehrbano Naqvi who has been in the limelight since February this year when she rescued a woman from a mob in Lahore’s Ichra Bazaar. Earlier, she was involved in launching a unique initiative for pets. ASP Sheharbano Naqvi, along with the IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar, inaugurated one-of-a-kind Pet Park to Lahore.

Lately, the female ASP surfaced online to present the stance of Lahore police on the alleged rape case of Punjab College.

Among other candidates for the slot is former Lahore deputy commissioner (DC) Dr Rafia Haider, a PCB official told The Current. They also said that the former Lahore DC, and not ACP Shehrbano, was likely to replace Tania Mallick who stepped down on Wednesday to pursue new career opportunities.

Mallick had started her job at the board in October 2021.

  • New Zealand vs India: 3rd Test Day 2 Updates

New Zealand vs India: 3rd Test Day 2 Updates

India 86 for 4 (Gill 31*, Jaiswal 30, Ajaz 2-33) trail New Zealand 235 (Mitchell 82, Young 71, Jadeja 5-65, Washington 4-81) by 149 runs. Get the latest New Zealand vs India 3rd Test Match Day 2 update.

Ravindra Jadeja picked his 14th Test five-wicket journey as New Zealand were bowled out for 235. He delivered 22 continuous overs in the sweltering conditions of Mumbai to help in this effort. Nonetheless, India lost the advantage as three wickets fell in the last two overs of the Day’s play, with the team ending Day 1 at 86 for 4.

Jadeja had to bowl the dull middle session, which even saw Washington Sundar leave the field due to heat to rehydrate. And the batters received the drinks at intervals of just under three overs.

Daryl Mitchell and Will Young scored a half-century, suggesting that the two batsmen almost increased the score. Jadeja’s well-timed intervention saved this, as Mitchell and Young put on 87 runs between them in a practically dry-weather partnership.

The collapse from 159 for 3 to 235 relieved India, which was on the verge of suffering its second series of whitewashes at home. The first one happened a long time ago, in 1993. This result was also crucial for World Test Championship points. But the last two overs were a bummer for them.

They were in a favorable position, having lost the toss but then waking up to being able to bat in ideal batting conditions when it mattered the most after Tom Latham won yet another critical toss. He oversaw New Zealand’s early advancement but lost Devon Conway to Akash Deep around the wicket. A push for pace without Jasprit Bumrah could only handle so much. R. Ashwin was the first spinner called upon to bowl in the eighth over. He was tipped to be the most likely spinner to take a wicket.

Latham scored 28 off 44 before he was prised out following a frustrating one-two by Washington. Washington got the inside edge of one ball and took the outside edge of the next ball, displacing the top of the off stump from virtually the same angle. Washington beat Rachin Ravindra’s off stump for the third time in three attempts with a similar delivery, leaving New Zealand at an unstable 72 for 3.

When Jadeja slowed the pace of the ball now and then, it did turn. But he was searching for swift changes. However, Young and Mitchell appeared to be entirely formed regarding their batting. The sweeps and reverse sweeps were valuable tools, and Young even stepped down the track to pop the ball up without hesitation. Although this was his first fifty in the series, Young has projected that he has been more at ease on the crease than the other players.

Siraj, Ashwin, and Washington bowled from the other end, but Jadeja continued from his. At the end of the opening, he almost got what he was after with a high pace and turned to boot. Now, he was in it. He bothered the batsman with the stump by changing pace. He sent Glenn Phillips packing for one that did not turn, and Zoe made his way past Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma into the top five Indian wicket-takers.

The third day of New Zealand vs India has begun, with India batting at 195 for 5.

  • Dollar falls to 152 against rupee on Google

Dollar falls to 152 against rupee on Google

The United States (US) Dollar on Friday evening took a dive against the Pakistani rupee on the Google currency converter, leaving traders perplexed.

As per the details, the USD crashed to Rs152.62 from Rs277.50 earlier in the evening. While no statements were issued by Google or Morningstar Inc that provides the search giant with data for its currency converter, it was probably an erroneous entry that was fixed moments after the glitch was first noticed.

It is pertinent to note that the glitch wasn’t the first of its kind as on June 7, 2023, a similar case was observed when the value of the rupee dropped sharply only for it to turn out as a simple data entry error.

Such errors have also occurred back in 2022 and 2018, leaving many confused. Had this been true, there would be great economic and business implications.

However, there has been no change in the economy to suggest a rise in value of the rupee of this magnitude.

One of the few entities that could have been responsible behind such a large rise in the value of the rupee is the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). While it does hold the power to artificially increase the value of the rupee by buying it up using foreign reserves, there is no evidence to support such a large activity.

Instead, the SBP actually reported its foreign exchange reserves to have grown by $116 million to $11.15 billion on October 25.

While such a rise is a dream for many businesses and citizens alike in Pakistan, the lack of evidence that suggests such a change in the value of the rupee makes it exactly that: a dream.

  • Zulfi Bukhari dragged Imran Khan into Oxford University chancellorship candidacy for self-interest: Rubina Khanum

Zulfi Bukhari dragged Imran Khan into Oxford University chancellorship candidacy for self-interest: Rubina Khanum

Rubina Khanum, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan, lambasted Zulfi Bukhari over his recent role in marketing Khan’s campaign for the election of Oxford University Chancellor.

In a viral video, Rubina Khanum stated that Bukhari, former Special Assistant to Khan, is not educated and that he believes having an Oxford University Chancellor from Pakistan is a big deal.

“Zulfi Bukhari had dragged Imran Khan into the chancellor candidacy race for self-interest,” she said.

“Imran Khan is in jail; what interest does he have in becoming Oxford University’s chancellor?” Rubina Khanum questioned.

Zulfi Bukhari, a close aide of the PTI, had been active in campaigning for the incarcerated party founder Imran Khan for the Oxford University Chancellorship until Khan was blocked by the university administration.

On October 16, former PM Imran Khan was expelled from the Oxford chancellorship race.

Citing the reason for Khan’s ineligibility to run for the Chancellorship election, journalist Murtaza Ali Shah, two weeks ago, disclosed that a convicted person cannot become the University chancellor since he has been convicted in the Tosha Khana case.

“A chancellor candidate shouldn’t be a member of a legislative assembly. Although currently, Imran Khan is not a lawmaker, there is the possibility of his premiership in future, on which the University has reservations,” he maintained.

Following the expulsion of Khan’s candidacy from the Oxford University Chancellor race, Zulfi Bukhari alleged that the Pakistani government had pressured the university administration to remove Khan from the race.

“The Oxford University made a very narrow-minded and pressured decision to block Imran Khan. The decision came as a big disappointment because Pakistan wanted Imran Khan to run in the Oxford University chancellor election. People from India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, and many other Islamic countries wanted Imran Khan to take part,” Bukhari told a private news channel.

The first round of the Oxford University Chancellor elections has been completed, and the top five candidates have advanced to the second round.

The second round of voting will begin on November 18, and the new Chancellor will be officially announced on November 25. The new Chancellor will hold the position for a decade.

  • PIA auction fails: Sole bid rejected by government for being too low

PIA auction fails: Sole bid rejected by government for being too low

Spectators watched as the televised auction of the flag carrier, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), failed horribly. The government seemed interested in selling PIA for the right price but did not approve the sale when the sole bid was off by 88.2 per cent of the original value.

The reason for only one bid is the government’s condition for the purchasing entity to inject over half a billion dollars into PIA to modernise the fleet. Five business owners out of the six companies selected for the auction process decided to opt out due to this additional investment that they would have to finance after the purchase of PIA itself.

The government was expecting to receive a total of $305 million but managed to get only a reality check. In hindsight, the goal of privatising the national carrier to companies via auction was a bad idea.

If lawmakers in Islamabad aim to make the sale, it will have to explore other avenues.

The auction process could be expanded to include more local businesses and international players, too. As it stands, this seems viable as Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Qatar have all expressed great interest in purchasing PIA in the recent past.

Additionally, these investors in the Gulf also have the financial capability to undertake the massive $700 million fleet modernisation plan once they acquire PIA. This would be a good way for Pakistan to secure FDI (Foreign direct investment) inflows of over one billion dollars.

Alternatively, the government could opt for a simple solution. This could be issuing more shares to be traded on the PSX (Pakistan Stock Exchange). However, this will spell bad news for investors who already have their money parked in the publicly traded PIA holding company. This is because the value of their shares will be reduced due to the dilution of ownership that will occur post-share issuance.

In simple words, the creation of new shares will cause investors to lose out due to more overall shares being traded on the PSX. This is especially true if we consider the fact that Islamabad is currently interested in selling around 60 per cent of PIA.

In this approach, shareholders, in collaboration with the government, could use the funds raised by the sale of shares to modernise the fleet without extensive international investments.

However, as it stands, PIA is a loss-making institution.

With last year’s loss of 75 billion rupees, PIA’s liabilities grew to a staggering 825 billion rupees. If the government retains a majority of the share while raising capital by issuing shares, investors could actually lose out instead. This is because civil servants can simply not run a company with the same efficiency businessmen can.

If investors believe that the government will not commit to running PIA as a profit-maximising business rather than the national carrier, they may not put their money into it to begin with.

The question remains: Which entity will purchase PIA from the government? The answer, while currently uncertain, will be sought by suits in Islamabad’s boardrooms.

Actor-turned-politician Mithun threatens to ‘chop up’ Muslims

Actor-turned-politician Mithun Chakraborty of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has incited violence against Muslims in India, threatening to “chop them up” and burying them in the ground.

As per the details, a viral video of his address at a political rally in West Bengal showed him responding to a statement made by opposition member Humayun Kabir ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

“A leader says there are 70 per cent Muslims and 30 per cent Hindus [and] that he will ‘cut’ and throw them in the Bhagirathi [River]… I thought the chief minister [Mamata Banerjee] would say something. She didn’t… so now I am saying, we will chop them [up] and bury them in the ground,” the BJP leader can be heard as saying while addressing a ceremony to kick-off BJP’s membership drive in West Bengal.

“I am not the chief minister… but I am saying this,” he said, adding that his party would do anything to win the “throne” of Bengal. “It will belong to the BJP after the 2026 assembly election.”

“I am saying it again and again… we will do anything… anything. I am saying this with Home Minister Amit Shah Ji sitting here — we will do anything,” Chakraborty asserted.

“I say we will cut you up and throw you, not in the Bhagirathi because that is our mother, but we will throw you in the ground,” he threatened in response to Humayun Kabir’s pre-election comment.

“You are 30 per cent [of the people here] but we are 70 per cent… if you think you can demolish mosques and Muslims will sit back and relax… [you are wrong]. I will leave politics if I don’t drown you people in the Bhagirathi within two hours, I will leave politics. I will not let you guys stay in Shaktipur,” Kabir had said.

Notably, the opposition member was reprimanded by the Indian Election Commission over his remarks.

Mithun Chakraborty, however, relentlessly accused the Bengal state government of not allowing the Hindu community to cast votes.

The 74-year-old actor has also served as a member of the Upper House of the parliament, the Rajya Sabha, for which he was nominated by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He resigned from Banarjee’s All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) in 2016 and later joined the BJP.
