  • ‘Women harassment should be treated as criminal act’: Hamza Ali Abbasi

Actor and model Hamza Ali Abbasi has raised his voice for women’s rights, insisting that it should be illegal to harass women.

Recently, he was invited as a guest in ‘Meri Saheli’ show on Samaa TV, the actor participated via video and highlighted the importance of working women for families.

He said, “I see myself as a proud human because the women in my life—my mother, sister, and wife—work freely and have their own identities and personalities. Empowered working women not only support their families but also bring peace of mind to men.”
While talking about harassment in offices, he said, “In today’s era, empowered women are also financially supporting their entire families. But the reality is that they also face harassment in the workplace, not only in Pakistan but worldwide. Like men, women in Pakistan are also facing the challenge of lower salaries compared to men.”
Hamza Ali Abbasi said, “To create a conducive environment for women in our society, we (men) have to play a key role. Whether it’s in the workplace or elsewhere, where women’s rights are being violated, don’t accept such behavior, and raise your voice against it.”

The actor believes that harassing women should be illegal in order to deter future instances of this kind of behaviour.

In addition, he stressed that males ought to respect women, work together, see to it that they are safe, understand Islamic principles, and educate themselves on Hazrat Khadijah (RA)

PTI issues show-cause notice to Marwat

Internal differences with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) reached a head on Saturday when the party issued a show cause notice to its crowd-favourite leader, Sher Afzal Marwat.

PTI’s Secretary General Omar Ayub issued the notice to Marwat for going against the party’s discipline and making irresponsible statements, emphasising that his words had damaged the party’s reputation.
Marwat now has three days to submit his answer.
“If your reply is unsatisfactory or you do not respond, further action will be taken as per party policy and rules,” said the notice.

Marwat, known for his blunt and controversial remarks, has clashed with several party leaders, including Taimur Khan Jhagra, Omar Ayub, and Shibli Faraz, keeping him in the limelight since Imran Khan’s incarceration.
On May 9, Omar Ayub said PTI removed Sher Afzal Marwat from the core and political committees of the party under the directions of Imran Khan.
“The PTI founder said Marwat tried to damage his personal relations with the kingdom [of Saudi Arabia] as he has excellent ties with Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman,” Ayub said.

Geethika Tiwari’s comment on Feroze Khan’s photo goes viral

Indian actor-model Geethika Tiwari left a mysterious comment on the latest photo posted by her co-star, Pakistani heartthrob Feroze Khan.
Khan shared a new photo on his Instagram on Thursday evening, shirtless, showing off his well-defined abs.

In the caption, he wrote, “- they wish to be close to me.” The post got over 150k likes and many comments for the superstar. But one comment from his upcoming co-star, Indian actor Geethika Tiwari, caught the attention of social media users.
She commented, “Abhi tak no no no no chance,” seemingly in response to the caption.

Earlier, the Indian celebrity praised the ‘Tich Button’ star during a Q&A session with her Instagram followers. Last month, she wrote, “@ferozekhan is a very talented person in the entertainment industry. He captivates audiences effortlessly on both big and small screens with his charm and great acting skills.”

She received more than 500 questions about Khan. Tiwari added, “Feroze’s kindness and warmth make a lasting impression on everyone he meets.” She ended with, “See you all guys in the theatre soon.”
It’s worth noting that Feroze Khan and Geethika Tiwari will soon appear together in an upcoming film called ‘Luck Lag Gayi’.

  • Karan Johar slammed for excluding Fawad Khan in ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ tribute

On Friday, Bollywood’s ace producer and director Karan Johar shared pictures from the time he was filming Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in 2016. The pictures showed Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, and Aishwarya Rai having fun on set.

Karan captioned the post with a heartwarming note and wrote, “‘The experience of filming ADHM was one of my best on-set experiences.’” He continued to praise the three actors for their talent and commitment to their roles, writing, “‘Anushka and Ranbir were such a treat to direct… I always wanted to direct Aishwarya and she gave Saba so much dignity, poise, and beauty.’”

In the same message, Karan talked about how he learned about “the Ranbir process” and came to really respect it. “I got to know and love him as a person and appreciate his detachment from stardom or movie star trappings,” he wrote.
Right after the Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani director posted the pictures, fans noticed that Fawad Khan’s name wasn’t there in the message, despite him playing a huge role in the movie. They shared their disappointment in the comments.

An Instagram user commented, “The caption is so beautiful, but not a single line for Fawad? Why, Karan?” Another user wrote, “How smoothly you skipped mentioning Fawad Khan… Surely it wouldn’t have been that damaging? Disappointed here in Lahore.”
This is not the first time Karan has been controversial when it comes to his professional relationship with Fawad. In 2017, during a session with two-time Academy Award winner Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, the Student of the Year director subtly hinted that he would not be open to working with Fawad (and presumably other Pakistani artists) in the future.

“It was a tough time for me. I don’t think I would want to repeat that experience ever,” said Karan when Sharmeen said she hoped to see Fawad directed by him again. Karan continued to say that he wishes Fawad would find the best platform to showcase his talents. “I have great regard for Fawad’s talent. So just like you [Sharmeen], I hope and wish he finds the best platforms because he is a prolific actor.”

In 2018 on Koffee with Karan, in a game of rapid fire between Sonam Kapoor and her siblings, the former was asked who she pairs well with on screen. When her brother, Harshvardhan, suggested Fawad, Sonam quickly jibed back with, “But Karan sent him back!”
The statement was met with a look of horror from Karan. He then avoided commenting on the matter and asked Sonam for another name, to which she replied, Salman Khan.

Pakistani actors have been unofficially barred from acting in Bollywood films since the hard-liner BJP-led government of Narendra Modi took the government.
