Nadia Hussain admits she pleaded for an invite to Salman Khan’s party

Actress Nadia Hussain has revealed that she pleaded to attend a party hosted by Bollywood superstar Salman Khan.

Talking on the show Hasna Mana Hai, where she shared interesting anecdotes from her career with host Tabish Hashmi, Nadia was asked about an incident from her visit to Mumbai, India, “When you went to India, what happened when you saw some scenes at the hotel where you were staying?”

In response, Nadia said, “I had gone to Mumbai to shoot an advertisement, and Salman Khan’s sister’s birthday party was being held in the hall of the hotel where we were staying.”

Nadia added, “When we found out it was Salman’s party, we were desperate to join and begged to participate somehow. Thankfully, we managed to get permission.”

According to her, there is a significant difference between the parties of Bollywood stars and Pakistani celebrities.

  • Trio wins Economics Nobel for work on wealth inequality

Trio wins Economics Nobel for work on wealth inequality

The Nobel Prize in Economics was awarded on Monday to Turkish-American Daron Acemoglu and British-Americans Simon Johnson and James Robinson for research into wealth inequality between nations.

By examining the various political and economic systems introduced by European colonisers, the three have been able to demonstrate a relationship between institutions and prosperity, the jury said.

“Reducing the vast differences in income between countries is one of our time’s greatest challenges,” Jakob Svensson, chair of the Committee for the Prize in Economic Sciences, said in a statement.

“The laureates have demonstrated the importance of societal institutions for achieving this,” Svensson added.

Acemoglu, 57, is a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), as is Johnson, 61.

Robinson, 64, is a professor at the University of Chicago.

The jury highlighted the laureates’ work, illuminating how societal institutions play a role in explaining why some countries prosper while others do not.

“I am delighted. It’s just a real shock and amazing news,” Acemoglu told reporters via telephone as the award was announced in Stockholm.

The Economics Prize is the only Nobel not among the original five created in the will of Swedish scientist Alfred Nobel, who died in 1896.

It was instead created through a donation from the Swedish central bank in 1968, leading detractors to dub it “a false Nobel”.

However, like for the other Nobel science prizes, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences decides the winner and follows the same selection process.

The economics prize wraps up this year’s Nobel season, which honoured achievements in artificial intelligence for the physics and chemistry prizes, while the Peace Prize went to Japanese group Nihon Hidankyo, committed to fighting nuclear weapons.

South Korea’s Han Kan won the literature prize — the only woman laureate so far this year — while the medicine prize lauded discoveries in understanding gene regulation.

The Nobel Prizes consist of a diploma, a gold medal and a one-million-dollar sum.

They will be presented at ceremonies in Stockholm and Oslo on December 10, the anniversary of the 1896 death of scientist and prize creator Alfred Nobel.

  • Who is the Hawk Tuah Girl? The Viral Video Explained

Who is the Hawk Tuah Girl? The Viral Video Explained

Social media makes other people’s everyday moments a big deal. And TikTok is also one of the most used social media platforms that helps. Many videos on the platform grab the attention of many people worldwide. One such viral moment is ‘Hawk Tuah Girl,’ which has trended on TikTok. If you’ve been stalking your friends’ TikTok platform, you’ve likely come across that meme, or people have talked about that meme.

But who is Hawk Tuah Girl, and what is the reason for her fame? In this blog, we will help you understand everything. We will talk about the origins and evolution of the meme and why it became so popular at some point. Furthermore, we will discuss the future of Hawk Tuah Girl’s fans.

Who Is the Hawk Tuah Girl?

Hailey Welch, 21, hails from a small town in Tennessee known as the Hawk Tuah Girl. She first came into the spotlight when she participated in a man on the street video by Tim and Dee TV. It is a well-known TikTok content creator couple. Here, she was confronted with a rather fun question that made the internet go wild.

The question? “What’s that one move in bed that makes any man perform like a crazy dog?” Welch wasted no time in adding something unacceptable but hilarious:

“You gotta give ’em that ‘hawk tuah’ and spit on that thing,” she exclaimed, as she did so with so much confidence and sass. It was just a matter of time before the audience got hooked on her.

    What Does “Hawk Tuah” Mean?

You may be curious about what “hawk tuah” means anyway. Horny fellows need to calm themselves down. It is not even an English word in use today. It is the sound someone makes when they try to—as it were, spit. In an old Western movie, someone makes a ‘hawk tuah’ sound, spitting into a spittoon. Welch’s joke was based on that. But she was making it spicy and hilarious.

The slogan “hawk tuah” was quite funny and so surprising that it turned out to be a meme in no time. People began to make fun of her by quoting her. It makes parody flicks and churns out zillions of the Hawk Tuah Girl memes.

Why Did the Video Go Viral?

The video of Hailey Welch answering the question went viral because of various factors. First, it was funny, and her line delivery was perfect. Second, her personality and confidence made the clip even more engaging. And lastly, people love a good catchphrase that they can use and share, and “hawk tuah” was perfect.

Within days of the posted video, it racked up millions of views, and Welch became the latest TikTok sensation. Memes, reactions, and fan videos flooded social media platforms, cementing her status as a viral star.

Hawk Tuah Girl’s Merch and Popularity

Like many viral sensations, Welch’s fame didn’t stop at just a funny video. As her popularity grew, she decided to capitalize on the moment. Tim & Dee TV, the creators behind the viral video, even launched an official line of Hawk Tuah merchandise. Items like hats and T-shirts emblazoned with the catchphrase became a hit, with fans of the viral moment eager to show their support.

Did Welch Lose Her Job Over the Viral Video?

When a person goes viral, rumors always pop up, and Welch is no exception. Some satirical social media accounts began spreading a fake story that Welch had lost her job as a preschool teacher at a fictional school called Epstein Day School. The rumors claimed that children were spitting on each other because of the viral video.

However, Welch cleared things up quickly. In reality, she worked at a spring factory, not a school, and quit after the video blew up. The false reports were simply part of the internet’s tendency to take things too far.

What Has Hawk Tuah Girl Said About Going Viral?

Recently, Welch had her first interview with Brianna Lapaglia, host of the Barstool Sports podcast Plan Bri. In this interview, she said that she never thought that the video would receive so many views. She recalls the moment she saw the video gaining heat at 2 a.m. as she was preparing for work and even confessed that it was a pleasant surprise.

Although Welch is managing her unexpected newfound celebrity well, she said that certain aspects of going viral have been somewhat troubling. There have been many fake profiles of her on various social networks. Moreover, there are also some very weird immoral propositions from some individuals requesting her to fill a canister with her spittle for money.

Despite the craziness, Welch has remained calm, considering her quick rise to fame as a stepping stone to greater horizons.

What’s the Plan for Hawk Tuah Girl Next?

Welch is not one to waste her newly acquired popularity. She has a manager, and people are also looking to help her find her way in the entertainment business. Her final aim? To host a show and give other interviews on podcasts and the like. She even had a paid booking for the first time at the Daer Dayclub located at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, where she did a public signing for having 1 million followers on Instagram.

Welch also uses Jake Paul’s media company, Betr, to launch her podcast, Talk Tuah. The show will have celebrity guests, and many topics will be discussed, such as love, animals, sports, and others, in a funny, delicious way that only Welch will do.

Things stand in the way of the bright prospects of Hawk Tuah Girl’s future.

Welch is not just a one-hit-wonder thumbnail. She has charm, wit, and thick skin toward that appealing personality, and so forth. Though she may have been a viral phenomenon with funny videos because of one viral clip, she is trying to pursue an entertainment business career. There is a podcast coming up, brand collaborations, and sellable products. It looks like Welch is making her future secure.

  • Bengals vs Giants: Details About the Full Match

Bengals vs Giants: Details About the Full Match

The Week 6 edition of ‘Sunday Night Football’ felt like any Big Ten College Football game: solid defensive plays, brief flashes of rushing offense, and much kicking of the ball. The Bengals vs Giants match was fun. The Cincinnati Bengals worked hard to a 17-7 victory over the New York Giants. Both teams played fierce defense and used innovative tactics in this game. The Bengals’ determination to win, no matter what, was evident.

The Bengals focused on defense from the first kickoff. This was the main focus of the match, if not the game itself. Daniel Jones was nevertheless under pressure. Furthermore, Trey Hendrickson and Sam Hubbard were on the defensive line. They proved very disruptive to New York’s offensive schemes. The secondary for the Bengals also performed well with key turnovers and stemming the flow for the Giants. The defence’s ability to make big plays and change the game’s tempo contributed to the victory.

    Joe Burrow, The Player

Joe Burrow had not performed well today and faced some All-Star linebacker opponents going into the game. Although he initially struggled to establish a rhythm with his receivers, he recovered from his inferior play as the Giants applied a lot of pressure. He converted 22 of the 37 kicks for 245 yards and one passing touchdown when crucial plays were needed. He made well-planned drives that survived the game’s ups and downs.

    Bengals vs Giants

Bengals vs Giant: Power Running Stands Out

In Bengals vs Giants, the Bengals’ ground game was also one of the reasons behind their success. Joe Mixon had 25 carries for 95 yards and gained crucial yards. He helped the Bengals control the game’s pace by assisting them in moving the ball. The need for Mixon to rush the ball was satisfied as the offensive line tried to create room for him, and the Bengals were in control of the game’s tempo.

Giants Fight til the End and Seem to be Winners in Their Efforts

Although they were defeated in the end, they still put a lot of effort into the game. Daniel Jones managed to throw for 220 yards and one touchdown. But it was intercepted twice. Jones’s protection could have been better, and this hampered the offensive threats, resulting in desperate throws and missed opportunities. Regardless, Jones was making good throws to his targets, including Darius Slayton, who was making good catches to keep the Giants in the game.

Key Moments of Bengals vs Giants

There were also crucial episodes that defined the result of this hard-fought game. In the second quarter, the defense of the Bengals managed to get a hold of the ball. It enabled them to score an essential touchdown, which the Bengal’s opponents answered was a lasting lead.

The Giants attempted to stage a comeback due to several turnovers and missed opportunities. A week’s effort grinding brought the Bengals crashing towards the Giants’ end zone, only to fumigate a voucher towards the end of the fourth quarter and stamp an end to the match.

  • ‘No rape at Campus 10’; Punjab College dismisses ‘fake’ reports

‘No rape at Campus 10’; Punjab College dismisses ‘fake’ reports

Amid violent protests over the alleged rape of a female student at Campus 10 of Punjab Group of Colleges (PGC) in Lahore, the institute has released an official statement rubbishing all claims regarding the incident.

“We would like to address the recent false claims circulating on social media regarding an alleged incident at one of the campuses of Punjab Colleges.

Following a thorough and impartial investigation by law enforcement authorities, we can confirm that no such incident has been reported to the police or our campus administration, and no student, parent, or guardian has raised concerns,” said a statement issued on Monday by PGC.

The statement said that despite the lack of credible evidence supporting these allegations, “We remain fully committed to transparency and will continue to work closely with the authorities to ensure a fair and thorough process.”

“At Punjab Group of Colleges, the safety and well-being of our students and staff are of the utmost importance. We have implemented strict security protocols that are continuously monitored and updated to ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone on campus.”

In the statement, the college also urged its students, parents, and the wider community to avoid following or sharing “news from unverified channels”, as it may cause confusion or unnecessary concern.

According to earlier reports, a first-year student at PGC Campus 10 was allegedly raped by a security guard named Aun in the college basement last week. The incident occurred when the student was accidentally locked in the basement during lunch break.

“Her cries for help were heard by a male teacher, leading to her discovery. The guard fled the scene and went into hiding,” read a social media post that went viral, prompting strong reactions from students of PGC as well as the general public.

The guard also had a history of inappropriate behavior towards female staff members, the post had claimed, as netizens sought action against the accused and demanded better security for students across both government and private education institutions.

On Sunday, growing demands for the provision of justice to the victim also led to the arrest of the suspect.

In a statement, Deputy Inspector General (Operations) Faisal Kamran said a special team was formed to nab the suspect and investigate the matter further. He, however, said that the reports of the incident were only circulating on social media, and neither the victim nor her family had yet come forward.

An FIR [First Information Report] related to the incident has not yet been registered, the statement said, adding that neither the relevant police station, 15 police helpline, nor the college administration had received any report of the incident.

The spokesperson suggested that the unconfirmed reports on social media may be an attempt to “damage the reputation of the college”, requesting that the public refrain from commenting on social media until the facts are revealed.

“The suspect is being interrogated to verify the social media news,” the statement said, adding that despite the incident going viral on social media, no evidence had yet emerged regarding the incident.

Journalist Umar Cheema shared on X (formerly Twitter) that a girl’s father visited the police station with her X-ray reports, claiming that she had stopped attending school due to a bone fracture.

    Protests turn violent

Meanwhile, with reports of the incident spreading like wildfire, students from different campuses of PGC took to the roads on Monday, demanding justice for the victim.

According to social media reports, the students were met with heavy resistance from Punjab Police.

A viral video also showed students pelting stones at police officials who had arrived at Campus 10 to meet with the college administration.

Unconfirmed reports also claimed at least 27 were injured when police baton-charged the protesting students.

The rescue team said the wounded students were provided medical treatment.

Notably, the registration of the college was suspended till further orders.

  • Pre-Halloween ‘Terrifier’ lands atop North America box office

Pre-Halloween ‘Terrifier’ lands atop North America box office

New indie horror film “Terrifier 3” opened atop the North American box office, while last weekend’s leader, “Joker: Folie a Deux,” suffered a record plunge from its own debut, industry watchers reported Sunday.

“Terrifier 3,” from indie studio Cineverse and Icon Events, earned an estimated $18.2 million for the Friday-through-Sunday period, according to Exhibitor Relations. Analyst David A. Gross called that “an outstanding opening for a third episode in an indie horror series.”

The slasher film has Art the Clown back to spread holiday fear — and plenty of blood and guts — with David Howard Thornton again playing the psychopathic harlequin.

Universal and DreamWorks Animation’s “The Wild Robot” placed second again, at $13.4 million. Lupita Nyong’o voices Roz, a robot stranded on a remote island who is forced to befriend woodland animals to survive.

That left Warner Bros.’ “Joker” film, a dark musical Batman spinoff, suffering a huge 80 percent drop, from last weekend’s $40 million to $7.1 million — a stunning result for a film with a budget close to $200 million.

That second-week collapse was the worst ever for a comic book-based movie and one of the biggest for any film, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

In fourth place, down one spot, was another Warner Bros.’ film, “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” at $7.0 million. Michael Keaton again plays the back-from-the-dead title character.

And in fifth, at $3.8 million, was Focus Features’ new “Piece by Piece,” a comedy-drama using Lego animation to follow the life of singer-songwriter Pharrell Williams. The all-star voice cast includes Gwen Stefani, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake and Busta Rhymes.

Meantime, a gritty new film about Donald Trump, “The Apprentice,” detailing his early rise in New York, had a weak opening, placing 10th with $1.6 million. Trump had threatened to try to block the release over its often unflattering depiction. Sebastian Stan plays Trump.

Rounding out the top 10 were:

    “Transformers One” ($3.7 million)

    “Saturday Night” ($3.4 million)

“My Hero Academia: You’re Next” ($3 million)

“The Nightmare Before Christmas (reissue): ($2.3 million)

    “The Apprentice” ($1.6 million)

  • Will the government allow PTI leaders to meet Imran Khan?

Will the government allow PTI leaders to meet Imran Khan?

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has set a condition for calling off its protest on October 15, which coincides with the day Pakistan is set to host the SCO summit.

PTI’s condition is that their leaders should be allowed a meeting with the party founder, Imran Khan, and allow his personal physician to check up on him.

Geo News reported that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) rejected the proposal, with its Senator Talal Chaudhry emphasising: “The call for protest is merely an effort to blackmail the government.”

Meanwhile, there are also reports that through some backchannel contacts, the government may allow Barrister Gohal Ali Khan and Hamid Raza to meet Khan today to withdraw the protest call.

PTI Chairman Gohar Ali Khan wrote a request to the Interior Ministry to allow him and Hamid to meet with Khan three days before the protest call.

In the letter, it was written, “It is to invite your attention to the subject matter that the last time Imran Khan was visited by our lawyers in Adiala Jail was October 3, 2024. Since then, no one has been allowed to visit Imran Khan. There is grave concern amongst the political leadership and workers of PTI about the health concern and wellbeing of Imran Khan.”

There has also been internal opposition within PTI to postpone the protest in the greater interest of the country, with those opposing including CM KP Ali Amin Gandapur and Gohar Ali Khan, while Hammad Azhar, Salman Akram, and others advocated for holding the protest.

  • Sindh police clashes with protestors, journalists for violating section 144

Sindh police clashes with protestors, journalists for violating section 144

Police on Sunday confronted protestors for defying section 144 during a demonstration against the extra-judicial killing of blasphemy suspect Dr Shahnawaz Kunbhar and “extremism in Sindh.”

The demonstrators had gathered outside the Karachi Press Club (KPC), for a protest organised under the “Sindh Rawadari March”, to condemn the murder of Dr Shahnawaz, who was shot dead by the police in Mirpurkhas on September 19 under blasphemy accusations, Dawn News reported.

The Sindh Rawadari March brought together progressive voices from all over the province, including human rights defenders, trade unions and feminist movements.

According to Tribune, the confrontation between law enforcement officials and protestors led to the arrest of over 100 individuals outside KPC, Metropole hostel and Jinnah Hospital.

The Karachi police also cracked down on journalists, stopping them from covering the peace march.

Simultaneously, Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) organised a counter-protest at KPC, and police halted them at Teen Talwar, near Capri cinema.

President Karachi Press Club Saeed Sarbazi claimed, “Police closed all routes leading to the press club with containers and buses, and even reporters and camera persons were not allowed entry.”

Karachi South Deputy Commissioner (DC) Altaf Sario stated that section 144 was imposed due to the risk of riots and violence not only in Karachi but also in other parts of Sindh.

Meanwhile, Senator Sherry Rehman apologised for the police crackdown on protestors outside KPC on behalf of her party.

She wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “I apologise on behalf of the party. Am told that TLP was advancing from the other side and the police were on hair trigger alert after the recent attacks on foreigners and the advise to not protest until SCO is over, but still, the situation could have been handled differently.”

“We are a democratic party, and the rights of citizens have to be protected and respected even if they were in violation of today’s 144. I have spoken on the phone from Islamabad to many who were mistreated, and I apologised and appreciate their understanding. Because this is important. Many of us are sorry and shamed. Will inform the leadership as well,” Sherry Rehman further noted.
