Which actors were considered for lead roles in ‘Ishq Murshid’?

Hum TV’s drama serial ‘Ishq Murshid’ has become immensely popular with its unique storyline and excellent casting. Fans are loving the chemistry between Durefishan Saleem and Bilal Abbas. Farooq Rind directs the drama, which is written by Abdul Khaliq Khan.

The writer recently appeared on Something Haute’s show Haute Talk, hosted by Hassan Choudhary where he revealed the names of male actors he was considering for Shahmeer’s character.

“I had several names in mind because we aimed to cast popular actors for the 8:00 pm slot to attract fans’ attention. We considered Ahad Raza Mir, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Wahaj Ali, and Bilal Abbas for the lead role. Ahad Raza Mir requested the complete script, which wasn’t feasible. Hamza Ali Abbasi was occupied with Jaan E Jahan, although I envisioned him as Fazal Baksh and politician Shahmeer. Wahaj Ali was already committed to Tere Bin, so we didn’t pursue him much, although we did approach him. All four were approached, but fortunately, Bilal Abbas had a better grasp of our script. He read the initial episodes and understood the character well, which greatly helped us.”
