Can I take both names?” However, when the host refused, he said “I chose Sajal Ali as the best actress.”

    He also made a surprising confession about his son Zaviyar Nauman Ijaz decision to enter the entertainment industry.

    Naumaan Ijaz said, “I never wanted my son to become an actor. It was written in his fate, otherwise, I never took my sons to any set I was working on and never invited any artists to my house.”

    Terming himself a “normal man” when at home, the celebrated actor said he does regular chores and fixes things. “I didn’t want my son to enter this field because it’s tough to make a living here.”

    You all know that the late great comedian and artist Moin Akhtar was one of the brightest shining stars in Pakistan, but did you know that he was also a very good friend?
    The actor wrote an incident in his memoir that cemented his status as the bestest friend to ever have.

    Moin left his wedding ceremony to attend that of his close friend Talat Hussain, who passed away yesterday.

    “I left my own wedding to attend Talat Hussain’s wedding without an invitation,” the comedian wrote in his memoir.

    The year was 1972. A young Moin was getting married on the same day as his friend and comrade Talat Hussain. “My wedding was on the same day that Talat Hussain wed Rakhshi. Although Talat couldn’t make it to my wedding, I didn’t need an invitation to attend his; our friendship had long surpassed the need for formalities, and I went directly from my own wedding celebrations to join in his special day.”

    Moin Akhtar also revealed that among their group of friends was a palmist who knew about astrology. Once the palmist said to Talat Hussain, “You should change your name, this name doesn’t suit you much.” And then he changed his name to ‘Farooq Jalal’, under which Talat Hussain worked in a film. The film was successful, but perhaps Talat Hussain liked his own name better.

    Talat Hussain passed away in Karachi on Sunday, May 26, 2024 after a long illness. The thespian was born on September 18, 1940. In a career spanning over six decades, he starred in many popular dramas and films, winning multiple awards, including the Amanda Award and Pride of Performance.

    During the podcast, the actor expressed frustration with the lack of strong and unique scripts in today’s dramas, and stated that he will only consider taking on a character if the script meets his high standards.

    Talking further about not working more in dramas and not portraying the role of an on-screen father, he said, “Nowadays, it has become a trend that when a film is not successful, its script is picked up and turned into a drama. We’ve essentially turned dramas into films, which is fundamentally wrong.”

    “I decline roles because I’m not interested in playing a father figure on screen. I’ve already become a father in real life, and I don’t want to portray a character who gets divorced and then remarries, or one who asks his son if he’s eaten. I can’t relate to such storylines, which is why I turn down drama offers.”

    Tazeen Hussain, the daughter of veteran actor Talat Hussain, has opened up about the family’s struggle with her esteemed father’s dementia.

     

    During an appearance on ‘Gup Shup with FUCHSIA’, she shared that her father is suffering from dementia now and asked for prayers.

     

    She talked about the difficulties her mother had to go through after her father’s diagnosis. Her mother used to be a full-time professor and a highly independent woman, but she is now the celebrated actor’s primary caregiver, with help from the entire family.

     

    She said that, “My father’s doctor advised me to care for my mother too and ask her how she is feeling as well.”

     

    Talking about how our behaviours towards medical conditions have changed, Tazeen said “When I was a kid, I saw older family members with dementia, but back then, people didn’t know what it was called. They were treated normally, and families just adjusted to their condition. Nowadays, people become more clinical when diagnosing this, and we need to return to some of the old ways of dealing with it.”

    During a recent interview on Ambreen Fatima Youtube channel, Humayun Saeed gave Yumna Zaidi a lot of compliments and said he had always seen her as a journalist in the drama.

    “Working with Yumna Zaidi was a remarkable experience, realizing that the praise I had heard about her before was insufficient compared to her actual performance after working with her.”
    Humuyun said that when the role was offered to Yumna Zaidi, she asked for his opinion. “They had chosen her after considering her suitability for the character, and encouraged her to read the script to confirm that the role was perfect for her.”
