Shagufta Ejaz gets Botox injections and she’s not afraid to own it

Veteran actress Shagufta Ejaz wants more women- especially those who aren’t young- to break down the misconceptions and stigma surrounding cosmetic surgery.

The actress recently uploaded a vlog where she opened up about getting Botox surgery and provided a breakdown of what the procedure entails. The actor said her intention was to reduce the wrinkles on her forehead and eyes, adding that this was the fourth time she was getting Botox.

“So, I didn’t want a frozen expression. I wanted to frown and lift my eyebrows and go sad and all. So, this is why I told [the doctor] that I wanted a 40% erase, and 60% expressions.”

The actress showed her fans how the procedure progressed, showcasing the bruises around her eyes and the wrinkles on her forehead fading.

Shagufta also talked in her vlog about the stigma surrounding Botox.

“I believe that one should be honest about whatever you do,” pointed out the ‘Mere Damad’ actress. “A lot of people are getting it done; some want to disclose it, some do not. This is their personal choice and I thought this is the fourth time in my entire life that I’m getting this done and this time I wanted that I should share with you.”

We’re incredibly happy that more actresses are encouraging women to stop listening to the stereotypical remarks that as women age, they must stop focusing on their looks and be sent out to pasture. Previously, Shahista Lodhi slammed age-shaming remarks while speaking about being mistaken as her son’s girlfriend. Lodhi reflected on how in Pakistan, women here are shamed if they invest too much attention on their looks as they grow older:

“If you’ve had kids at a young age then is that also my fault? Apparently, that becomes a taunt too here…Why should I lie about it? It feels good that I have maintained myself even at this age.”

On ‘The Talk Talk Show’, the aesthetic physician recalled counselling a woman who was kicked out of her house because of stretch marks, stressing that its not worth saving an abusive marriage if it depends on you getting surgery.

Culinary icon and lifestyle guru Martha Stewart has made history at age 81 as the first elderly person to pose for the front cover of the swimsuit magazine Sports Illustrated.

Gushing about her experience on the ‘TODAY’ show, Stewart opened up about how she at first felt she wasn’t the right person to pose for the cover, but then chose to do it with confidence:

“I like that picture,” Stewart said with a giggle on TODAY. “I’m sort of shaking because it’s odd to go to an island and then get changed into nine different bathing suits in one day in front of all those people … it turned out OK.”

“You know, that was kind of a request I have never had before,“ the food writer chuckled. “And to be on the cover at my age was a challenge. I think I met the challenge.”

In a statement, MJ Day, the editor in chief of Sports Illustrated, said that women like Martha Stewart were legends who had forged their own career, so it was important to have her as representation of the type of women shaping the future:

“Martha Stewart is a legend. The definition of a great female entrepreneur who built a dynasty against insurmountable odds. While the industry wavers on its arbitrary notion of beauty, our issue has stayed the course, showcasing the women of today, the women shaping the future. This year, we’re featuring an extremely diverse group of women starting with our cover models, who are collectively the most unapologetic women from different walks of life who continue to forge their own paths on their own terms.”

‘She scolded me’: Nida Yasir makes revelations about tiff with Shagufta Ejaz over referring to her as ‘auntie’

Morning show host Nida Yasir has exclusively opened up about her tiff with senior actor Shagufta Ejaz.

Nida revealed that when she was young and working as a leading lady she referred to the Chaudhry & Sons star as auntie because Ejaz has worked in her father’s dramas and she used to refer all his actresses as auntie out of respect.

She spilled the beans in our latest interview, watch out:

However this didn’t sit down well with Shagufta (51 years old), who took her to a corner and told her to not refer her as auntie on the sets. The senior actress played the role of Nida’s mother in the play.

Nida confessed, “I realized i shouldn’t have called her auntie on the sets but I used to do it out of respect, even with other actresses like Bushra Ansari and Rubina Ashraf.”

“Unho ne mujhe start me hi tok diya, it was my mistake.”

Now even I will tell my juniors to not refer to me as Nida auntie.”

Earlier this year she responded to a troll as he made some ageist remarks in the comment section of her latest post.

Earlier a netizen commented on the Nadaaniyaan star’s picture, writing: “Buddhay ho kr aisay hi bright colours pehnnay ko dil karta hai. All sympathies to you.”

Replying to the troll, the morning show host said: “Age is just a number. I have no age complex, so don’t be frustrated.”
