The Bollywood actor recently slammed a photographer and publication for capturing and posting her and husband Virat Kohli’s private moment.
Taking to Instagram, the mom-to-be posted the picture taken by the photographer and wrote, “Despite requesting the said photographer and publication, they still continue to invade our privacy.”
“Guys! Stop this right now,” added a furious Anushka.
Ever since Virat and Anushka announced their pregnancy in August, pictures of the couple and their baby bump have gone viral on social media. However, this time the actor decided to take a stand.
Earlier, in an interview to a fashion magazine, Anushka had said that she wants to raise her child away from media attention as she does not want to “raise brats”.
Anushka and Virat are expecting their first child this month. Their announcement tweet was the most-liked tweet of 2020.
Meanwhile, later when a fan lashed out at celebrity photographer Viral Bhayani for sharing pictures of the couple on a lunch date, Bhayani said Anushka “was concerned that her private home pictures were leaked and that is what irked her”.
He added that he is constantly in touch with her management to “check if there is any concern as distress is caused to them”.
With weeks to go before baby Sharma-Kohli arrives, Anushka Sharma has opened up about her pandemic pregnancy and posed for the cover of Vogue Indiawith her baby bump.
Sharing details about her pregnancy, Sharma revealed that she felt exhausted and nauseous during her first trimester. She said that couldn’t go near the kitchen as she couldn’t stand the smell of things.
“Smells would revolt me, I couldn’t go near the kitchen. I swear, I could smell people’s skin. I thought it was never going to end,” said Anushka. “I didn’t think I could feel so tired. I am an active person and it was startling, but even when you’re in pain, or uncomfortable, you are still thinking: have I eaten at the right time? Is the baby okay?”
The actor also revealed that she was hooked to eating toast and crackers during the first three months and when that ended she wanted to eat vada pao and bhel puri. But other than that she did not have any major cravings, unlike Gigi Hadid who shared that she was hooked to eating spices.
Anushka also said that the pandemic turned out to be a “weird blessing” for the couple.
“The pandemic has been a weird blessing in a way. Virat was around and I could keep it a secret. We only left to go to the doctor’s clinic. No one was on the streets so we couldn’t be spotted,” said the actor.
Meanwhile, a self-confessed planner, Sharma revealed that her child’s animal-themed nursery is complete.
“I just want to be prepared. Everything is slower because of the times we are living in and I don’t like to rush things. This time in my life, even more so,” she says. “I want the nursery to be very calm. It’s the place where you spend the most amount of time, where you are bonding with your baby, so it has to be peaceful.”
Sharing details about the nursery’s theme, Sharma said: “I don’t believe that boys have to wear blue and girls pink. The nursery has all colours. Both Virat and I love animals and we want our baby to have that bond too. They are a big part of our lives and we really believe they can teach kindness and compassion to children.”
Anushka and Virat are expected to welcome their bundle of joy in January 2021. Their announcement tweet was the most-liked tweet of 2020.
Indian captain Virat Kohli will play the test series against Australia next month before taking paternity leave and missing the rest of the matches.
According to details, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) issued a statement on Monday confirming that it had granted Kohli’s request for paternity leave during the upcoming series.
Kohli is expected to play in the limited-overs section of the tour and the day-night test match from December 17-21 before returning to India to be with his wife Anushka Sharma, who is expecting the couple’s first child in January.
Meanwhile, Anushka shared Virat cleaning his shoes for the tour.
Back in August, Anushka and Virat had announced on social media that they will soon be turning into a family of three. The couple had shared an adorable picture that had sent their fans and fan clubs into a frenzy.
Virat recently celebrated his 32nd birthday in Dubai with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team and Anushka by his side. The couple’s photos as well as Anushka’s appearances at the IPL matches went viral on social media.
Afghan cricketer Rashid Khan was mistakenly referred to as Bollywood star Anushka Sharma’s husband on a Google search that has left fans in fits.
Social media surely had a field day after the little gaffe on the search engine that seemingly stems from the cricket champ’s crush on her and Preity Zinta.
As per a few media reports, Rashid was recently asked in an interview to name his favourite woman actors. Rashid said he loved to watch Anushka and Preity. That is all his fans needed to ship Rashid and Anushka.
The many mentions all over the internet might have caused the Google search engine to goof up the same way United States (US) President Donald Trump’s pictures show up if one searches for “idiot”.
The B-Town diva is actually married to Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli, and the two are also expecting their first child together.
Anushka also attended Saturday’s Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Chennai Super Kings match of the ongoing season of Indian Premier League (IPL). She even blew Virat a kiss from the visitors’ area, which caught everyone’s attention. Virat, who scored an unbeaten 90 in the match, even gestured towards his wife after his half-century.
Rashid, on the other hand, says he will “get engaged and married once Afghanistan wins the cricket World Cup”.
Anushka Sharma has hit back at legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar for his comment against her husband Virat Kohli, during Thursday’s IPL match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab in Dubai. Royal Challengers Bangalore, who Kohli captains, lost the match by 97 runs.
Gavaskar, who was a commentator during the match, while discussing Kohli’s poor form during the game casually remarked: “Ab joh lockdown tha to sirf Anushka ki bowling ki practice ki unho ne, woh video dekhi hai. Usse to kuch nahi hona hai.”
After Gavaskar’s comments went viral on social media, Anushka took to Instagram to express her disapproval and told the veteran cricketer that she just wanted to let him know how she felt.
“That, Mr Gavaskar, your message is distasteful is a fact,” said the actor. “But I would love for you to explain why you thought of making such a sweeping statement on a wife accusing her for her husband’s game? I’m sure over the years you have respected the private lives of every cricketer while commenting on the game. Don’t you think you should have equal amount of respect for me and us?”
She continued: “I’m sure you can have many other words and sentences in your mind to use to comment on my husband’s performance from last night or your words only relevant if you use my name in the process?”
“It’s 2020 and things still don’t change for me,” lamented the actor.
“When will I stop getting dragged into cricket and stop being used to pass sweeping statements?” she questioned.
Many on social media have expressed outrage and criticised Gavaskar for his comments, with many of Kohli’s fans demanding the veteran cricketer be removed from the commentary panel. On the other hand, there are others who are of the opinion that Gavaskar’s comments were not out of line or sexist. What they don’t understand is that it is unbecoming of seniors and people of such high stature to pass personal comments like these – they are absolutely unnecessary and serve no purpose.
Following Anushka’s post, Gavaskar while speaking to an Indian media outlet asserted that he had not blamed Anushka and there was no sexist tone to his comment as well.
“Firstly, I would like to say it again. Where am I blaming her? I am not blaming her,” said the former captain of the Indian Cricket Team. “I am only saying that the video said that she was bowling to Virat. Virat has played only that bowling during the lockdown period. It’s a tennis ball, a fun game that people have to pass time during the lockdown. That’s all. Where am I blaming her for Virat’s failures?”
“You know me, I am the one who has always batted for wives going with husbands on tour. I am the one that a normal guy going to the office for a 9-5 job, when he comes back home, he comes back to his wife. Similarly, cricketers, when they go out for a tour or even when they are playing at home, why can’t they have their wives with them?” he added.
Meanwhile, this is not the first time Anushka is being trolled for Virat’s poor performance on the field. Every time the cricketer stumbles in the game, Anushka is at the receiving end of criticism. While she has usually maintained silence on the trolling, this time she decided not to keep quiet. Fans have also brought back a statement issued by Anushka earlier to dismiss claims of favouritism and the tasteless trolling.
