    Caretaker Prime Minister assures of all possible facilities for PSL 9

    Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has said that all possible facilities will be provided for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine.

    Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee Zaka Ashraf met Kakar today. In the meeting, PSL, Champions Trophy, recent performance of the team, and various matters related to cricket were discussed.

    The Caretaker Prime Minister expressed his satisfaction with the briefing, directing Zaka Ashraf to take further steps for the improvement of the game, stating, “We want the improvement of Pakistan’s cricket, the government will provide all possible facilities for PSL.”

    Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar said, “Diplomatic relations can be improved through cricket diplomacy, the government will provide all possible support for the promotion of cricket.”

    He asked that PSL dates should be adjusted so as not to clash with the elections. He asked the Board to work together for the success of 2025 Champions Trophy, with all stakeholders and security agencies.

    In the midst of a visa delay affecting Pakistani cricket fans and journalists attempting to attend the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup in India, Interim Prime Minister Anwar ul Haq Kakar emphasized the importance of keeping sports separate from politics.

    In a recent interview on the YouTube channel “Talk Shock”, the Premier talked to journalists Azaz Syed and Umer Cheema, staying that, “Sports should be kept away from politics.”

    He went on to express a sentiment of cooperation, saying that, “If the World Cup was held in Pakistan, we would’ve issued visas to India.”

    Prime Minister Kakar also extended his best wishes to the Pakistan cricket team, hoping that their performance would bring pride to the nation.

    As of now, the Indian government has not granted visas to Pakistani cricket fans and journalists. This marks the first time since the 1975 World Cup that no Pakistani journalist is present in the press gallery at an ICC Cricket World Cup event.
