    Police arrest pair trying to enter Auckland with ‘large amount’ of KFC

    New Zealand police have arrested two men with a car full of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) and over $100,000 in cash as they tried to cross the border into locked down Auckland amid the pandemic.

    As per reports, the men were detained after allegedly trying to flee from police near the Auckland border. When their car was searched, police said they found a large quantity of KFC, as well as the cash and a number of empty ounce bags.

    Auckland is in strict lockdown and restaurants are not allowed to open and citizens are not allowed to order takeaway food.

    After the KFC arrest, a police spokesperson said “officers noticed a suspicious-looking vehicle travelling on a gravel road, and upon seeing the police car, the vehicle did a U-turn and sped off trying to evade police.

    “The vehicle was searched and police located the cash, alongside empty ounce bags and a large number of takeaways.”

    Close examination of the police evidence photos revealed at least three buckets of chicken, up to 10 tubs of coleslaw, and an a large quantity of fries.

    The police have rescued a woman from an apartment in Karachi’s Marwari Line of the Ranchore Line neighbourhood after a neighbor hinted that she was imprisoned, Aamir Majeed reported for Samaa News.

    Eidgah Assistant Sub-Inspector Zahid Mehmood told Samaa Digital that they received a complaint on police helpline 15 Madadgar by a man who identified himself as Junaid to make them aware of the suspected hostage in Jannat Bibi Building.

     A police team instantly went to the venue where a large number of people were gathered outside the building. According to ASI Mehmood, when they entered the single-room apartment, there was a very weak woman covered in a bedsheet. The woman was so weak that she could not even walk. She was taken to Civil Hospital, Karachi, for rehabilitation in an ambulance.

     According to ASI Mehmood, neighbours caught her brother — identified as Iqbal — and handed him over to the police.

     An FIR was registered against her brother on the complaint of the victim’s maternal uncle Muhammad Hassan. He told the police that the woman’s parents had passed away and her brother took her with him three years ago and did not contact the extended family. 

     Junaid contacted the police and said that Iqbal was living in an apartment that he had rented two-and-a-half years ago. Everyone knew Iqbal lived with his sister there but no one ever saw her. He claimed that sometimes they heard her crying, but no one interfered, thinking it was a personal matter.

     Junaid told the police that people in the area suspected that something was wrong after someone threw used condoms out of the apartment. Though the apartment was locked, the women of the area tried to look inside through a window. They saw a woman lying naked.

     District City SSP Sarfaraz Nawaz said that a woman medico-legal officer examined the victim.

     “According to the WMLO, the victim was raped,” he confirmed. The police have acquired semen samples from the suspect and sent them for tests. Further investigation is underway.

    In August 2020 superstar Saba Qamar and Bilal Saeed found themselves in hot water after they released the teaser of their upcoming music video Qubool Hai.

    Part of the music video, which has been directed by Saba herself, has been shot inside Wazir Khan Mosque upsetting the public. Akbari Gate police have registered the case of dancing in the mosque.

    Now in September 2021 Judicial Magistrate Javeria Bhatti issued the arrest warrants for both the artistes for not following the court orders for appearance.

    The court has summoned the Qubool Hai duo as their challan was presented but both of them chose not to appear. The warrants have been issued for October 6.

    A man has been arrested for raping his six-year-old cousin in Bahawalpur, Samaa News reported.

    The minor girl’s mother lived with her sister and their children. The women of the family were at their neighbours’ house, while the children were at home. “When we came back, I heard my daughter’s screams from one of the rooms,” the complainant, who is the six-year-old child’s mother, told the police.

    The suspect, Adnan, was raping the child while his brother Nadir was watching over the door. “When they saw us, they attacked us with punches and kicks and escaped from the scene,” the complainant added.

    A case has been registered against the men under sections 376 (punishment for rape) and 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

    The suspects were arrested after a police raid on Friday. The investigation officer said that Adnan’s DNA sample will be tested and further inquiry is underway.

    Two girls were allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped in a factory in Lahore, ARY news reported.

    As per details, two girls were abducted from Lahore’s Shahdara area and were moved to Gujjarpura.

    The girls were gang-raped by three men in the Karol Khatti factory in Gujjarpura, the police said and added that the rapists later escaped the crime scene.

    The police claim that they have arrested the factory owner while a search operation is underway to arrest the rapists.

  • Police arrest cleric for allegedly raping teenage student

    Police have arrested a seminary teacher accused of raping and torturing a student in Rawalpindi’s Pirwadhai.

    As per reports, the Pirwadhai police registered a first information report (FIR) against Mufti Shahnawaz Ahmed on the complaint of the victim’s father. He has been booked in another case for resisting arrest.

    He had gotten pre-arrest interim bail from the relevant court to avoid arrest.

    Rawalpindi Police wrote in a tweet that the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Investigation and Superintendent of Police (SP) Rawal will supervise the probe, while merit will be ensured. The victim’s father stated that he had received a phone call from the management of the seminary, asking him to pick up his daughter who had fainted.

    The young girl told what had happened after she regained her consciousness saying the teacher had been trying to harass her for the past several months.

    She said that the teacher tortured her after she resisted his attempts of sexual harassment. She was then given a drug after which she fainted and didn’t remember what happened after that, the complainant said.

    A four-year-old girl was allegedly raped by two minor boys aged 12 and 13 in the fields in Lodhran district of the Punjab province, ARY News reported on Friday.

    According to the police, the suspects took the girl to the nearby fields in Lodhran and sexually assaulted her. “Both of them are aged 12 and 13 years old,” police said, adding that they later left the girl in the fields.

    She was later taken to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities.

    The police said they have detained one of the suspects involved in the crime. “The other suspect will also be arrested soon,” the district police officer (DPO) said while advising the citizens to play their role in identifying and reporting such incidents.

    Federal Minister for Human Rights Dr Shireen Mazari tweeted on Friday that 24 men had been detained through geo-fencing and matching records from National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) for harassing and assaulting a female TikToker and her team members at Lahore’s Greater Iqbal Park on Independence Day.

    The minister wrote, “More arrests are expected today” in connection with the “condemnable” incident.

    She further stated that a police investigation was also in progress against the alleged negligence of police officers in the assault case.

    Following a meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and other senior officials, Inspector General Inam Ghani said that senior police officers had been suspended for negligence and delayed response in dealing with the incident.

    “We have suspended SHO and SDPO whereas Divisional SP, SSP Operations and DIG Operations Lahore have been removed from their posts,” Ghani wrote in a tweet.

    “Strict departmental action will be taken once the inquiry committee submits its detailed report on the role and response of other officers,” he added.

    On August 17, the Lorry Adda police had filed a case against nearly 400 suspects for harassing and assaulting a woman at Lahore’s Greater Iqbal Park. The videos of the incident went viral on social media and sparked an outrage.

    A Lahore man was sent to jail for not telling his second wife about his first marriage, Samaa News reported.

    Arfah Naz has alleged that Rehmat Ali had not revealed his first marriage and she got married to him thinking he is single.

    The woman registered an FIR against Rehmat at the Shahdara police station when she came to know two days after the marriage that the latter was already married and had children too.

    She demanded that Rehmat should be booked for deceiving her. A district court sent him to jail on judicial remand.

    Section 6(5) of the Muslim Family Laws Ordinance, 1961 states that a man has to submit written permission from his first wife if he wishes to marry for the second time. If a man violates the law, then he may be jailed for a year.

    Police arrest Peshawar man for wearing scary mask

    Police have arrested a man for wearing a costume mask and frightening citizens.

    The Yakatoot police received complaints about a motorcyclist riding around the streets with a scary mask to frighten pedestrians. The police traced and detained the man after complaints

    Naila Inayat, a journalist, shared a video of the man behind the bars. “This guy arrested in Peshawar had plans to celebrate Independence Day by scaring people. Apparently, the police wasn’t much impressed. He was caught in his scary mask,” she wrote in a tweet.

    Journalist Iftikhar Firdous tweeted, “Peshawar police and masks don’t get along.”

    Firdous was referring to a man who was wearing a ‘wolf mask’ in Peshawar on New Year’s Eve and was arrested by the Peshawar police for “trying to scare off people” in the provincial capital.
