    Jal band is coming to Dhaka after 14 years

    The iconic Jal the Band is making a comeback in Bangladesh after a 14 year absence. The band’s lead singer and composer Goher Mumtaz shared a screenshot of the band’s upcoming concerts in Bangladesh on his Instagram account.

    Jal is scheduled to perform on September 27 in Dhaka at the ‘Legends of the Decade’ concert.

    Fans in Bangladesh have eagerly awaited Jal’s return, and their patience is finally being rewarded. Tickets for the event, priced at Tk3050, or Pakistani rupees Rs7123. The band is expected to perform all its hits including ‘Lamhe,’ ‘Aadat,’ ‘Panchi,’ and ‘Bikhra Hoon Main’. Goher Mumtaz and Atif Aslam formed the band in 2002.

    It was previously speculated that the founding members of the band, which included Farhan Saeed, a former singer and actor, would also perform at Bangladesh. The Jhok Sarkar actor posted a story on his Instagram account saying,

    “To all Bangladesh fans, I keep getting requests asked if I am coming to Bangladesh in September for concert. The answer is no I am not, my picture is used blatantly though. I am not! When I will be touring Bangladesh I’ll announce it on my social media platforms. All fans are requested to spread the same.”

    Commenting on the post, a user named Abbas Bharwana wrote, “Atif Bhai, my respect for you has increased because I know how hard it is to survive after taking a bad picture of Sara. You made it out alive!”

    The singer responded playfully to this comment, writing, “Haha, it’s not impossible to make ‘The Don’ (Sara Bharwana) happy.”

    Folk singer Mai Dhai, a renowned figure from the deserts of Tharparkar, has reached a new milestone by being featured on the iconic Times Square billboard in New York City.
    Times Square is well-known for its famous digital billboards and commercials, which include pictures of notable celebrities and a variety of well-known brands. It is acknowledged as one of the world’s busiest travel destinations. 
     
    Mai Dhai belongs to the Manganhar Muslim community, known for its rich musical heritage in Pakistan’s Tharparkar district and India’s Rajasthan state.
     
    Since her breakthrough appearance at the 2013 Lahooti Live Sessions, her unique look and soulful voice have captured the attention of audiences worldwide. With her appearances at the prestigious SXSW Music Festival in 2015 and the City University Graduate Centre in New York, Mai Dhai’s global profile increased even further.
     
    Dhai unexpectedly rose to fame in Pakistan in 2016 after making her Coke Studio season 8 debut and receiving critical acclaim for ‘Aankhaṛli Phaṛookai’ and ‘Kadi Ao Ni,’ which featured Karam Abbas Khan and Atif Aslam.

      Another singer from Pakistan, Talal Qureshi, was featured on a Spotify billboard at Times Square in October 2023. Spotify promoted his album ‘Turbo’, showcasing his blend of contemporary techno sounds and traditional Pakistani music.

    While giving advice to Ali Sethi, Shani Arshad said, “Ali Sethi should sing a song in English.”
    While offering advice to Atif Aslam, Shani said, “He should be more humble and not think too highly of himself.”

    He expressed concern about the future of Pakistani singers, saying, “Our music scene is lacking because singers aren’t consistently releasing hit songs. For instance, Kaifi Khalil released a new song after ‘Kahani Suno’, but it didn’t gain popularity, even though it was a great song.”

    If a superstar of Atif Aslam’s calibre has to get an autograph from a cricketer, who will he get it from?

    The answer may surprise you.

    The singer recently received an autograph from cricketer Azam Khan during Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 9.  Azam Khan, representing Islamabad United, shared photos of their meeting on social media.

    In one photo, Khan is seen getting Atif Aslam’s autograph on his guitar, while another shows the cricketer and the singer standing together with their guitar and their bat. Azam Khan also extended his best wishes to Atif Aslam and prayed for him.

    In the caption of the Instagram post, Azam Khan included a few words from Atif Aslam’s past interview, where the singer said, “No matter what the world says, keep the faith.” Azam Khan expressed his feelings in the caption, saying, “Still feeling starstruck after meeting the phenomenal Atif Aslam! As a long-time fan, this moment is pure magic!”

    Azam Khan, the cricketer, also expressed his happiness at meeting the singer and stated that he still admires Atif Aslam’s amazing skills. He admitted to being a fan of Atif Aslam for a long time, and the meeting with the favorite singer was indeed a special magical moment.
